My Christmas Pictures

Christmas Eve Morning! (we opened presents Saturday morning so we could attend early church on Sunday morning.)

My husband is a pilot…and now my son is a pilot in training lol!!!  Alex got a flight simulator for Christmas.

Christmas day we went to my sister’s house.

3 sisters (left to right – Me – baby, Kristen – oldest, Jennifer – middle)

All the boys in the family (Top – L to R- Kristen’s 2 boys, my husband, Kristen’s husband, Jennifer’s husband and their son; bottom L to R – my son, my father, my father’s brother, Kristen’s 3rd son)

The women of the family (Top – L toR – Me, My mom, Kristen, Jennifer; Bottom L to R – my daughter, my mom’s mom, Jennifer’s daughter)

Before opening presents the girls played piano for us (my daughter is first – she has only played for 3 months – so she’s just a beginner – and then my sister’s daughter is second)  Later her son played the guitar but I did not get that on video.  Here’s a little peek into our Christmas via a family video 🙂 !

I pray you had a very Merry Christmas. I know all of you worked so hard to create a special day for your families. If your Christmas was less than dreamy, it serves as a reminder that all this world offers is empty.

If I place my hopes in presents and good days, I will always be chasing the next rainbow, the next high, the next good thing, rather than chasing my Savior. Nothing this world offers can satisfy our souls like knowing and walking with the King! So as the Christmas lights fade, I pray that the light of Jesus in your heart would shine brightly.

Walk with the King!

  1. Your photos are beautiful…you have a good looking family. The photo of you with your sisters, you can’t tell who is older. You all look fabulous 😉 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂

  2. “And maybe ‘a few’ Women Living Well.” ROFL! Like, maybe a couple two, three thousand. 😀 Aw, this was absolutely precious, Courtney. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us. The girls did great on the piano. And how cute was Lexi? “Can we open presents now?” There’s a girl after my own heart, lol.
A blessed holiday season to you,
    Toni

    1. Toni – thank you for all of the encouragement this year! You have been a huge blessing! Thank you!!! It’s great to know we are not alone as we walk into the new year with the King!

      (((hugs)))

  3. I love this little peek into your family! We had a fun day here and for the first time STAYED HOME! It was so much less stressful to not truck our four kids everywhere. That flight simulator looks like fun! Happy Boxing Day!

  4. I LOVE how dressed up your family gets. I use to dress up as a little girl on Christmas. Our extended families aren’t into dressing up and with 3 boys who don’t like to even change their underwear… 🙂 LOL! We were in our PJ’s most of yesterday.

    1. Lol!!! My oldest sisters boys were all changed as soon as present opening was over! They wanted out of those ties!! PJ’s sound NICE :)!
Merry Christmas Ingrid! Thanks for all the encouragement this year!

  5. I loved that you shared this with us. (A “few WLW…. ha ha…. it reached all the way to Maine.) I really appreciated your closing statements. Your blog has been such an encouragement to me… and has been a real help as I seek to minister to those around me. Merry Christmas and to God be the glory.

    1. Lol! All the way to Maine- amazing – and I must admit, everytime I pull my camera out – my poor family asks…is this going on the blog? Some of them hide ha!

  6. Merry Christmas, Courtney
Again, I just want to thank you SO MUCH for your blog! I love your testimony of our Savior, your example of always working to be the best wife and mom (which I believe is our most important job in this life) For your enthusiasm in leading your followers to a richer life in the footsteps of our Savior. I LOVE how in this post you invite those who didn’t have a “dreamy” Christmas this year to come to the Savior. You are AWESOME!!! I’m sending you a “bloggy” sister hug.
Our Christmas was beautiful, much because of what I learn from you, but very different in a blessed way. For the past 4 1/2 years my husband, sons and I have had a special young woman in our home who was a survivor of being a shaken baby when she was 4 months old. She was my parents foster baby and they had her for nearly 7 years. She has had a rough year, especially these last few weeks. We realized last Sunday how close we were getting and she gave us a gift to last forever. She passed away at 9:30 Christmas Eve morning with my mom, my youngest sister, my husband and all 4 of our sons still at home gathered around her bedside. As we realized she was so near to her passing, my husband gathered our sons and together with Grandma and Aunt Jenny we all knelt around her bed and had a family prayer. She took her last breath during that special time. Though it may seem odd to most people that this was a beautiful and special time, it truly was. She had been confined to a very broken body from her abuse. She gave us a beautiful gift, we will ALWAYS have a deeper connection to our Christmas worship and celebration. Because that blessed Baby Jesus was born and the life he lived, the gospel he taught and the sacrifice he gave, we know that we will see our sweet daughter again, and be with her again. Courtney, I pray that you will continue this beautifully inspired ministry to all of us. I love you and wish I could meet you in person someday!
THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!!!

  7. Hi Courtney,
Could you please tell me where you got the flight simulator – it is awesome! My son also wants to be a pilot and he has the computer flight simulator game, but this looks so much better! Thanks so much – also could you tell me how much it cost?

  8. Hi Courtney! It looks like you had a great Christmas – what awesome presents the kids got! Just wanted to let you know that I’ve written about your e-book so other people can find you on my blog. I hope that’s okay. I’ve absolutely loved it so far and I want to spread the word! You’ve blessed me so much by it – it’s hard to just read on chapter at a time!

    Blessings!

  9. Give me strength!… Your mum looks soooo young!! It must be something in the water on your side of the Pond!
Glad you had a lovely Christmas – we did too. We opened the pressies on Saturday too, with my Mum and Dad here… they *never* miss seeing our kids opening their gifts. Grandchildren are so precious to grandparents. I think it’s such an undervalued relationship. Anyway, I digress!

    Lovely photos 🙂
    Blessings from Scotland x

  10. Thanks so much for sharing all your Christmas photos with us, Courtney! I loved getting a “sneak peek” into your weekend! That flight simulator looks like it would be a blast……Dirk would be impressed!! 🙂 hahaha! LOVED the video of Lexi and her cousin playing the piano……so fun to be there with you, even if it was just for a minute or two. 🙂 Love ya!

    Love God Greatly!
