A Creative Way to Share the Gospel

My degree at Moody Bible was Evangelism and Discipleship.  This technique is one we used in the subways and on the streets.  After graduating from Moody, I used it during Neighborhood Bible Clubs.  It’s so easy to gather kids around the big square on the ground and then tell them the “greatest love story of all time.”

It takes less than 4 minutes to do – so check out the video to see how it’s done!

(if you are reading this in a feed or email click here to see the video)

This video took me two takes and BOTH times I messed up the word sin. lol!  I didn’t want to RE-DRAW the set-up so I just went with it.  Sorry that the word doesn’t look quite right!

I said a few verses in the video without references so here are the references:

John 3:16 – ” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23- “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:28 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

I John 5:12 “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

I John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

This little light of mine – I’m gonna let it shine!!!  Let’s shine together!  Please pass  this on to Sunday School teachers or friends who could use this and if you have a creative method please share it in the comments below!

I don’t know you, but read your comment and wanted to say I am so pleased you have asked Jesus into your heart! You did the most important thing you will ever do in your life and you won’t regret it. Jesus is awesome and will love you and walk with you through everything you experience in life. Keep your eyes on Him, read His Word every day even if you don’t feel like you understand it, and talk to God about everything . Praise God for your new found faith in Him and may God bless you .

  3. A visual is an awesome way to share to Word of God. My cousin and her husband have a chalk talk ministry based here in PA. I love listening and watching him tell the story as he draws!

  4. Thanks Courtney for posting this I also love the idea. I pray all the time that I will give the gospel in a tract to all I meet, I am going to practice this so if I have a opportunity to share it I can, practice makes one more confident and prepared to act.
To Sue, I prayed for you today that you would find a good Bible Church and that God would send you other Christians to fellowship with, remember God never leaves you no matter what, read your Bible everyday and get into a Bible study so you can memorize God’s Word and keep it forever in your heart.
    Thanks Courtney, Cheryl

  7. I love this! Well done. Thank you for sharing this with us today, and for teaching us how to teach others.

  8. So funny that I saw this today! We are planning a women’s ministry slumber party and one of the games is to draw a scripture on the sidewalk, illustrated, at midnight while we eat homemade s’mores!

  9. I am finishing up a Salvation Series w/ my junior church kids for the summer. This will be a great way to end the summer as I teach them to share the gospel with others as a way to grow in Christ!! Thanks for sharing!!

  10. I think the gospel message becomes clearer when you understand the big picture. I think being able to walk someone through the whole Bible is really powerful. There is a great book called The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus by John R. Cross which is a Bible overview written for non-Christians. It is for adults or even teenagers and really explains the whole Bible, following the central theme of redemption. We read it a couple years ago at our neighborhood ladies Bible study. Most of the women were non-Christians and seeking. It was a powerful tool and amazing to see women who knew very little about the Bible come to fully grasp and understand Jesus and why He came, died and rose again.

Also, one of my favorite quotes is, “Preach the gospel often, if necessary, use words.” Our actions, attitudes and LOVE for those non-Christian around us are SO important. It took 10 years of me loving on my neighbor before she was ready to really sit down and hear about Jesus. I realize God can use us at anytime in someone’s journey (maybe a one time conversation in a coffee shop or just living out faith in front of a person for the year we work with them) but I really think that the best attitude as a believer is to realize that THIS IS WHY WE ARE HERE and to dig in to the lives of those around us (who need Jesus) and be willing to love them and stick it out long-term. Oh my, I love this subject!!! Evangelism rocks! Courtney, you need to do more posts on evangelism and discipleship (which is such a crucial piece after leading someone to Jesus).

  11. Cortney,
    Greetings from Serbia….
We just watched this video “How to share gospel with children”. Tonight we will use this on our meeting with roma children. We started a new church and we have a lot of kids who never heard anything about Jesus….pray for us 🙂

  12. The Lord has really moved on my heart for our family to start up a ministry together. We want our family to only serve Him and no longer be conformed to this world. Could you email me privately and share how God started your ministry? Thank you for your time. Walking with Him.

  13. WOW! I have been teaching kids at church and orphanages for a while now. I’ve never seen the gospel preached this way. I will definitely be using this. my eyes filled with tears a couple times. Let’s see how I demonstrate God’s love this way without crying! 😉 Its a good thing!
God bless you! & Thanks for sharing this heartwarming video.

  14. Thank God I came upon your video this morning. I was looking for an exciting way to present the gospel to children in our VBS program. This morning I will have the honor to present it to over 100 children. The video was a tremendous help!

  15. Courtney, today 103 children K-4th grade, made decisions to follow Christ. Your presentation was a life saver – literally!

  16. This is terrific and an easy way to share the Gospel. Ho do you set up the original picture? And is there a “script” to follow?
Looking forward to teaching our kiddos.

    Amy
