Happy 4th of July & WLWW Link-Up Party!

The 4th of July Party preparations are in full swing here at our house!

My 4th of July wreathe is up!

The annual making of the Dirt Cake is done – Lexi chopped all the oreos for me – the kitchen is a mess but it’s done 🙂 .

The slip and slide is ready!

In the morning, I’ll be spray painting a twister board like this for all the cousins (and maybe some adults too!) to play a HUGE game of twister on.

Soon Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents will stream through the door! And the fun will begin.  The night will end with viewing fireworks that display over a local lake from our backyard!  LOVE that!

If it rains and it’s cancelled – that’s okay – we already saw fireworks this past Saturday at a Carnival – here’s a few pics from the carnival:

Happy 4th of July!   God Bless the U.S.A.

  2. Oh it seems like it will be a blast tomorrow for you! We are far from family so I am feeling blessed that we have found a few friends to spend the holiday with and at the beach no less! Thanks so much for the link up, it is such a great idea! I’ve already stopped by a few listed and you are right, there are many great bloggers that link up! I’m looking forward to reading and connecting with other fellow christian bloggers! Happy 4th! <3

  3. Hi Courtney!

My name is Emily, I’m 16, and I just came to the Lord last summer It was an amazing experience! After months, if not years, of being wishy-washy and not really sure if religion was right for me, and thinking and talking to friends about faith and reading…Just as I was sticking my toes into the waters, Jesus pushed me in and said “I got you now! It’s gonna be okay, because I love you and I made you and I will always love you and I’m so glad you came back to me!”

Fast forward to last week, when I ran across one of your videos and fell in love with your enthusiasm and spirit. I found wlw tonight, and found the proverbs 31 videos. I’m only 16, and at first thought “What am I doing here? This is aimed towards women at least fifteen years older than me…people my parents’ age!”

But I’m beginning to realize that even though I’m still in high school I CAN be that Proverbs 31 woman and I need to be. I honestly think these videos and this train of thought that I’ve been working through is God knocking on my door and saying “Hey! You know how you’ve been failing tests, and anxious all the time, and panicked you won’t have a future? This is how we’re gonna fix it.” I’ve struggled a lot with guilt, anxiety and sadness for the last 9-12 months, and I think of this verse is a hope, a goal, and a light at the end of the tunnel. (Don’t worry, those feelings have been among some happy times too!)

I just finished all of it posted so far, and I’m crying because I realize what Angela said is true–this woman has confidence and hope for a bright future (things I both lack) not because of whether she’s a sinner or a saint, but because God loves her for who she is. That really, really speaks to me.

So thank you both SO much for these videos and for indirectly leading me to see all of this. If you have any other ideas of how I can apply Proverbs 31 or any of God’s wisdom to my life as a teen I’d love to hear it. Sorry I’ve rambled so much. Hope you and your family had a great 4th!

    God bless!

    ~Emily

    1. I love your story and can you believe how lucky we are to be a part of this ministry??!!
One thing that I must say is that you are so lucky you have this opportunity to learn about the Proverbs 31 women before you enter into marriage because I am learning after the fact. After being married for 10 years and with four small kiddos !!!

What a blessing keep sharing your heart!!
      Blessings to you!

  4. So happy to link up again today. Thanks so much for hosting. As a 1st-time mama, I’m really excited to share my baby girl’s birth story today.

    1. Yes – she did knock them out – the top picture and the dirt cake picture are both from last year – I’ll take new ones tonight 🙂 You might be able to see in the carnival pics that she is missing one tooth still and one came in 🙂

  5. Courtney, I love the wreath on your front door. What is it made out of? Flowers? Can you post a close-up of the wreath? Hapy 4th of July everyone! God bless this wonderful country we have been blessed to live in.

    1. I don’t have a close up picture but it’s made of shiny tinsel – I got it at Pacatan’s – I love how it looks like a firework – all shiny when the sun is on it 🙂

  6. Thank you for being obedient to our Father. Lives are changed when we respond to His calling. I was talking with my husband about your testimony… or what I know of it… and I am encouraged to pursue God’s best and not settle for less. Have a great 4th.
