The Proverbs 31 Woman Finale & Announcement!

This is it – the final week in Proverbs 31!

Proverbs 31:31 says

“Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

I had challenged you all to memorize the Proverbs 31 passage with me – did you do it?  I did it but had a few hiccups when recording it – I left out a verse – can you tell which one? and I misquoted verse 31 – ARGH!  Grace right? 🙂

Here’s the final video of our summer Proverbs 31 series:

(If you are reading this in a feed – click here to view the video)

Oh how I love the Proverbs 31 woman and long to have hands like her – hands that are diligent, busy, eager, vigorous, profitable, industrious, open to the poor and needy, and praiseworthy.  Though this series has come to an end – I want to never stop striving hard to follow in her footsteps!

Rather than giving you a final challenge instead I have an announcement!

  1. Thank you so much! I have learned a lot from this. I’m new here and have only caught the last 3 weeks, so I’ll be going back over it from the start. It really touched me and let me see my life as a SAHM in a different light! I feel more important in my role and I feel more confident that I’m doing what God has called me to do. I have also learned that my mood has a huge influence on my family, more than I cared to notice before! So, more smiles on my face and it fills my heart with joy as I do! Thank you so much! You have been such a blessing!! 🙂

    1. Ohhh Jennifer your role as a mom and wife is irreplaceable!!!! I’m sooo glad you see how very important you are to your family!!! And yes, smiling is huge!!! Hehehe! 3. Courtney…. you & Angela are doing wonderful things!!
I started a moms group this summer and we used your eBook and a modified reading plan at my church in Salem, OR. We’ve had about 15 moms and tons of kiddos and it has been an amazing blessing. Thank you again for all you are in your heart for women and the Lord. 🙂

  4. I think this study has brought a whole new level of mindfulness to my day. It has forced me to look at myself and evaluate myresponsibility in strengthening relationships. It’s also helped me define goals for myself with the confidence that these are Biblical goals. It’s been a long time since I’ve studied the Bible with any consistency and I’m so grateful that I chose this one. Very positive

  5. So exciting! I’m working through memorizing Colossians! Up to mid-chapter 3… But I don’t have e-book accessibility 🙁 (yet)… I’d love to check into it every once in a while though!

    1. Hi Sarah,

  7. Thank you for all you do! You are always such a blessing and an inspiration! I have enjoyed this study so much! I have found myself Terri. So excited in anticipation of the next morning to study! I have always strived to be the proverbs 31 women and lately had just gotten off track this really helped me to refocus! Looking forward to Colossians! Thanks again for being such a blessing!

    1. I have no idea who Terri is!!! Lol apple spell check just put her in there! Maybe we should pray for her lol!!!

      1. Hahahaha Kellie!!! You’re hilarious!!! Yes, lets pray for “Terri” together!!! Hehehe! Thanks for joining us and I sooo look forward to going through Colossians with you this fall! 🙂

  8. YES, I will be joining for the Colossians bible study. Surfing the web yesterday, came across your “Women Living Well” site. An anwer to my prayers. God bless!

  9. Courtney,

Thank you so much. Great job! This has been a wonderful study and has really helped me dig deeper in the Proverbs 31 woman and how to be a more Godly wife and mother. Thank you, thank you again!

  10. Courtney thank you so much for the encouragement! Thank you to Angela too for all the fantastic videos! I am glad these videos are on Monday mornings since it gives me new vigor for the week to start it well and work hard for the Lord. It is challenging to be the Proverbs 31 women, especially in the verbal department, but I desire to be like her every day. Thank you for your bright smile! I love that you dress nicely and care for yourself. You always look so beautiful on these videos. Take Care!

  11. I am so excited about the new study. I have enjoyed this study on the Proverbs 31 women, it is amazing.I have found the study to be renforcing the way I feel about what a women of God should be.It is at times hard to swallow but then the Lord steps in and tells me that I am all ready doing some of these things, but need to continue to work on many of the others . The Lord has spoken to me through the verses and I will pray that he will continue to do so. My desire is to be more like her each day and that my husband and children will rise up and call me blessed, at the end of my time. Your Sister In Christ

    1. Ohhh sweet Wendy, we are ALL a work in progress! God has done a mightily work in my heart during this study too! Just taking it day-by-day surrendering my life to Him and putting His words into action.. Just remember Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” 🙂 My desire is the same as yours……..I want to live my life well for His glory!!! Thanks so much for joining us this summer!

  12. I really enjoyed the Proverbs 31 bible study! It inspired me so much! – Thank you! – – I look forward to the next 2 bible studies with you too!

  13. Courtney & all the gals at GMG,
thanks so much for all the work you have done to put this study together. I have enjoyed & learned all along the way. And will definitely be joining the Colossians study & the advent one too. Courtney it is so cute that you have hand motions to help you quote the verses! Very encouraging to see/hear this! A couple of years ago you did a post on memorizing God’s word & recommended memverse.com I joined it then & now have over 500 verses that I have learned! Thanks for sharing all that the Lord is teaching you! so very glad I found your blog oh way back then!

  14. Courtney, God has definitely used this study to change me this summer. It gave me a new pep in my step and confidence in who I am as a wife and mother. This world tells us it should be all about “me me me” all the time, and when we devote ourselves to our family that we pretty much must have a screw loose! I struggle with my personal goals conflicting with my job as an at home wife/mom. Proverb 31 made me see that I can have it all…but only though His strength….not on my own, could I do this! Thank you Courtney for your ministry, you are a sweet sweet person that I hope to meet someday if not on earth in heaven!
May all the praise and glory be to God!
    Sheila

    1. Ohhh thank you so much Sheila for sharing your story with us today!!! I love hearing how God is using GMG in other women’s lives! Thank you! 🙂

  15. Thank you so much for todays posting. When we adopted my son I gave up a well loved career to be a SAHM. Lately, I have been missing my career and getting grumpy at home! Today’s verse was just what I needed! 🙂
Thank you for this summer’s lessons. They really helped me grow as a wife, mother, and Godly woman. I appreciate your insights. I do plan to stay with you for the next studies. I am getting a few more women on board with me! Yeah!
    God Bless-
    Kim

    1. Ohhh Kim, thank you so much for sharing with us today! I’m so glad you’ll be joining us this fall….and inviting a few of your friends too! We all need good fellowship and support in our lives!!! 🙂

  16. Totally LOVED the Proverbs 31 study!! It was challenging and refreshing. I learned new ways to look at the roles and responsibilities given to me by God.

I LOVED this study so much that I will be using it in January as part of our Women’s Bible Study. I also LOVED the s.o.a.p. method. I had never seen it before. I’m teaching this fall on 10 women from the Bible and put the lessons together using this method. I am so excited to see what God has done and will continue to do.

Thank you so much for this study. It’s made a difference in my life, which extends to my husband, children, grandchildren.

    1. Woooohooooo Cheryl!!!! Way to pass on what you learned!!!! So glad you enjoyed the study and yes, the SOAP method is wonderful! It’s amazing what you can learn from God’s Word when you take the time to slow down and really look at it. 🙂 So excited to see what God has planned for your fall and the women in your bible study!!! Thank you for serving our Lord and passing it on!!!! 🙂

  17. Well, I must admit I had a shaky start with this study, but it’s made a difference and I through enjoy and am glad that I persevered through it! I will most definitely sign up for the next one! I had so much fun learning and gaining new insights to proverbs 31!
Looking forward to the next session!

    1. Ohhh Amy you made me laugh!!! I’m sure you weren’t the only one who was a little shaky when the study first started!! (wink, wink) But I’m so glad you persevered!!!!! Way-to-go!!!! 🙂 So blessed to hear that you enjoyed the study and I can’t wait to go through Colossians with you this fall! 🙂

  18. I have enjoyed this series. It has changed my perspective in so many areas. I am working on finishing memorizing Prov 31:10-31, which has helped me throughout my days as I commit the verses to my heart. I am looking forward to the next 2 studies as well. Thanks for all you do!

    Blessing!
    Melissa

  19. I loved this study. I have learned alot and have gotten so much closer to God.Thanks for doing this series!!!!! I haven’t quite got Proverbs 31:10-31 memorizing, but I’m gettting there:) I look forward to the next Bible Study.

  20. Thank you so much for this awesome study!! Before I used to read Proverbs 31 and cry out of despair that I could never be and just wasn’t like her. A few weeks after my crying episode I stumbled upon this study on FB and hurried to catch up since u were on the 3rd week. I am now so encouraged to be all the wife and mommy I can be! I now see that her work was only through Christ’s strength and that she was intentional and that her family and she is blessed through her efforts. Thank you so much to you and Angela!! Seeing your beautiful faces and even more beautiful spirits every week has been an awesome encouragement!! I so want to grow to be more like you two sisters of mine. Thank you and I thank God for you both! I will be doing Colossians too! I am excited because I just memorized Col 3 and I love it! God bless.

    1. Ohhh Janee!!! Your sweet story blessed my heart tonight!! 🙂 Thank you so much for joining us! 🙂 We are all just growing together, day by day, leaning hard on Jesus!!! Thank you for joining us! 🙂

  21. Thank you for being bold and sharing your heart with us over this series. Women today need to hear this message so badly! I think that it is so sad that women today don’t want to be at home with their children but rather they chase fleeting things. I pray that christian women will rise up and be a Proverbs 31 woman and sacrifice for their families!

  22. Thank you Courtney and Angela for leading so many! I really enjoyed the encouraging Proverbs 31 study and I will be joining for the next two studies as well! I am so excited for the Advent study, as I tried to do one last year but wasn’t very successful but I know I will be this time! Thank you so much for making the resouces available to us for free!!! You both are an inspiration and blessing to many! 🙂

  23. Courtney, this has really touched my heart and soul. I got in a few days late but plan to go and “catch up” on what I missed. With amazing results a much needed prayer was answered. I am convinced that with all the heartache and trials my husband and I were experiencing with our only child, (our daughter who is 32, married and mother of our only grandchildren) that we were able to finally have some sense of peace in our household. My tears and anguish lessened and my thoughts were turned to peace. I could finally sleep at night all night because I worked so hard at memorizing the Proverbs and I would make sure I had them to recite to my husband before we turned out the lights. I will continue with the Colossians study coming up next. Every day I look forward to opening up my email at work and starting my day with God and with your teachings. Bless you and all you do for me.

  24. I haven’t been able to read the book yet, but I’ve been following along with the videos and I really appreciate this series! I love the encouragement that’s been given, and it helps me to encourage other women around me to be this woman they desire to be for God and forget what the world is telling them about being a strong independant woman. There is a way to be strong and it’s in God and in love and dedication to the purpose he has for us to tend and nurture. I think sometimes us moms forget we may sacrifice our wants, but we get to watch our children do so much more with God and our blessings are multiplied through them. Thanks again!

  25. Thank you. This has been an important summer for me and my beautiful little family – thanks to you and the work you do. I’m looking forward to the next two studies.

Please let it serve as an encouragement that you’re making a difference in the lives of countless women, husbands, children, families, etc. Keep doing what you’re doing because you all have a wonderful thing going – wives and mommies like me have you to thank for homes that are a little more blessed each day.

  26. While doing this Proverbs 31 Bible study God turned my heart to my family. I was convinced before this that it was better to work outside of the home, that we couldn’t make it without my income. I am now completely ready to walk away from my fill-time job the very same second that God tells my husband and I it is time. At the very latest, this will be with the birth of our yet-to-be-conceived second child. I was so afraid financially, but God broke my fear and trust that was misplaced in money and put my trust in Him again. I realized that I had hung my husband out to dry by giving up on him and not praying for Him. I have since been bringing my husband regularly before Gods throne. I look forward to serving my family *joyfully* as unto the Lord. Thank you, ladies, for this Bible study.

    1. Ohhhh my goodness, Jamie……..thank you so much for sharing your testimony with us today! Ohhhh I just LOVE to hear how God works in all our lives!!!!! Thank you for blessing me with your story tonight! 🙂

  27. Hi Courtney and Angela,
Thank you so much for the Proverbs 31 study! I have enjoyed it so much and have found that my reflections on the verses are helping strengthen my relationship with God, my husband, and my life as a SAHM to our 3 little ones. I look forward to the upcoming Colossians study.
Thank you for being a blessing to all whose lives you have touched!

  28. I was sooo touched by the Proverbs 31 series. I’m a college senior & working full time. I use to make excuses for why I missed my quiet times some days because of my crazy schedule but I have come to realize what a silly thing that was to do. If I don’t make time for my quiet time I’ve discovered my time has no meaning. I love that GMG & WLW make me feel proud to be the daughter of the King that I am. And I’m excited to spend time with him and be with other women that love Him too. I really appreciated Courtney’s post about how to study the bible in all different ways. I know it wasn’t apart of the series but I wanted to thank you because it really helped me soak from this series by the use of those tools you showed us. I’ve started my album book to work on my verses to memorize this summer. I also wanted to thank Angela for your comments specifically addressing that the Proverbs 31 woman didn’t do all of this in one day but a lifetime. I think I have resented the P31 woman because she was just to perfect. I loved how graceful you said it and it really resonated with me. I’ve also got my mom hooked on GMG website too. Being a single mom, she appreciated how you guys really embrace the authentic beauty Christ has for us without making her feel insignificant without a husband around. It’s awesome to see her fit somewhere when many times bible studies at our church make her feel uncomfortable for that very reason. Thank you for giving a great way for us working & currently single women a way to feel connected too. And I love the comments about being SAHM’s that is such an awesome blessing. We are both excited to start the new series in the fall. Sooo awesome what you ladies are doing. I love it. You truly are women of God using your faith & love for women to serve the kingdom in a mighty way in your homes but also the community around you (near & online.) Thank you!

  29. Courtney,

You are adorable!!! I got such a kick out of your giggling when you paused to think of the next verses. I’ve been trying to memorize the Psalm that corresponds with my age. It is hard work! And I know it’s especially hard when you have extra pressure from trying to recite something in front of others. I have really loved this series and look forward to the next one.

  30. Hi Courtney!

I stumbled across your website through God’s grace. I’ve been trying to find someone to fully explain the Proverbs 31 Woman for some time now & I have never seen it broken down & explained the way you did in you ebook! I am so thankful to you for this! My spirit is longing for God’s word & I truly want & need to be part of your Bible study. I’m having trouble subscribing to Good Morning Girls & really want to be interactive. Could you please help me subscribe? I really thank God for you. I know I stated earlier I “stumbled” across your website but I thnak GOD for leading me to your website. It wasn’t an accident it is what GOD knows I needed.
