Unglued – Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions

You might remember the blog post from 2 weeks ago titled -The “Most Embarrassing Moment of She Speaks“.

This is me with the beautiful writer and speaker I was talking about –  Lysa Terkeurst.

Did I mention she’s the New York Times Best Selling Author of Made to Crave, a Women of Faith speaker, Extraordinary Women Conference Speaker and an author of 14 books including Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl.

She is also the mother of 5 children and a co-host of the Proverbs 31 Ministries’ radio program played on over 1200 stations!

Today Lysa is releasing her BRAND NEW book – Unglued – Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions

Here’s the book trailer:

I loved her Made To Crave book and last year, every morning after running on the treadmill at the local YMCA, I would sit in my car for 10 minutes in the parking lot and read Made To Crave before driving home.  That book was all about what we put INTO our mouths.

Unglued is all about what comes OUT of our mouths.  Here’s what the book contains:

Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or react somewhere in between.

What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how.

Filled with personal examples and Biblical teaching,
Unglued will equip you to:

  • Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your
    important relationships.
  • Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be
    honest but kind when offended.
  • Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly
    improve your communication.
  • Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff,
explode, or react somewhere in between.
  • Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.

Any mama’s out there need some help before they come Unglued? lol!  Me too! I have my copy and the DVD series too!   To sign-up for the free Unglued Webcasts click here.  To purchase the Unglued book, participants guide, DVD Curriculum or Devotional – click here.

  1. I’m reading Made to Crave right now and I’m Loving it! I definitely could use some advice on how not to become unglued so I will be reading this one next. Thanks for sharing this, this is the first time I’ve read about this book:)

  2. I Loved Lysa’s book last year when it came out – I think I read it twice, and can see myself going back to in regularly … like so many of her books 🙂 … Thanks for letting us know this latest book is out now! Have been looking forward to this one!! So wish the girls I know here were willing to do a study for this book – at least I have the GMG’s studies, and another one our GMG small group is going to begin on Angie Smith’s What Women Fear book in a the next week… SOO glad for the connections I have found on the internet!!! God certainly knows where and when to place us in this world!!!

  3. I had downloaded “Made to Crave” as an audiobook for a morning pep talk last year. I just downloaded “Unglued,” too. That’s because I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to somebody banging on my window, looking for an upstairs neighbor. Seriously. What? Then I figured, since I was up already, I’d do my devotions, which meant I stopped by here first, as I’m taking part in your Proverbs 31 study. And this was the first thing I saw. This, and the words of wisdom on Lysa’s book page: “If this is the worst thing that happens today, it’s still a pretty good day.” I think Lysa has a pretty good Agent, if He’s going to all but send people knocking on my door, waking me up to tell me I need to read her book, out today.

  4. I have been getting the 5 day email devotional the last few days and I am loving it..this is definately a book I need to pick up right now!!!

  5. I first heard Lysa on a Focus on the Family broadcast and was so touched by her. I am so excited for this book–thanks Courtney for your post. I sometimes forget that others struggle to keep their emotions in balance too.

  6. Hi Courtney! I was in line with you in the connections room to see Lysa. (and you helped me with so many blog questions) I was the only person I think standing in line that didn’t have the book in my hand! I don’t buy books at meetings because I’m too impulsive and would buy them and never follow through on my good intentions to read them. If it stays on my heart, I get it (not often). I’m getting this one not only for me, but I’m giving to new likers on my Juana Mikels Ministries Page at facebook! Thank you for telling us about the Wednesday link up think (I got ready to say hook up, oooo–that’s bad lol!) I’m trying it and thank you, just posted your code on my sidebar:-) Juana
