The Precious Blood of Jesus

The Precious Blood of Jesus

Today we remember. (Taken from Matthew 27)

We remember…

the betrayal for 30 pieces of silver

the flogging

the crown of thorns

the purple robe

the sign “Hail, King of the Jews!”

the strike on Jesus’ face

the crowd shouting “Crucify Him!”

the long walk to Golgotha carrying the cross

the nails in his hands

the nails in his feet

DARKNESS

the words “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

the temple curtain torn in two from top to bottom

the earth trembling

the guards exclaiming “Surely he was the Son of God!”

Life is in the blood –the precious blood of Jesus.

{If you cannot see my video click here to view it.}

On the cross, Jesus said “It is Finished.” (John 19:30)

FINISHED – PAID IN FULL. All the bad things you have ever done are paid for in full by the blood of the lamb who gave his life for you on the cross. Do you wonder if you are lovable? Do you wonder if he really can forgive you of your sins? Does your guilt lie to you?

Psalm 103:10-12 answer these very questions: He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

It’s in Christ’s mercy that I have found rest in this difficult world. The blog Women Living Well would not exist if it were not for the truth of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I have found rest in Jesus Christ my Savior.

Have you found this rest? If you have placed your faith in Christ and believe that he indeed lived, died and rose again and have repented of your sins – your sins have been cast as far as the east is from the west. But, If you have not done this, I John 5:12 says you do not have eternal life. If you have never accepted the free gift that God has offered you of eternal life which only comes through faith in his Son Jesus – I beg you – do it today!

Have a fabulous weekend with your family and Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

  1. I always enjoy your posts. I noticed you didn’t mention baptism. I believe we come in contact or are covered in Jesus blood during baptism. Here is n reticle I found that may explain it Ritter :
    Baptism and the Blood
    by T. Doy Moyer

The blood of Jesus saves us from our sins: the blood was “shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:28). What does baptism have to do with the blood?

Peter preached, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38). Note that the expression “for remission of sins” is the same as in Matthew 26:28. Jesus shed His blood for the remission of sins. How can both be true?

The answer is in Romans 6:3-4: “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” This tells us that when we are baptized into Christ we are baptized into His death. We contact Christ’s blood when we obey the gospel and are baptized into Christ.

What saves us? The blood of Jesus. How do we avail ourselves of the blood? Through baptism into Christ. Is baptism a work of our own merit? No. We simply must submit to the will of God. Now, how can anyone deny the necessity of baptism?

    1. Hi Sheri – I believe that salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us and in us. We are justified by grace through faith alone. Christ’s death is the only payment for sin that God accepts. The righteousness of God is transferred to us through faith – no other works are required. (Eph.2:8,9; Rom. 3:23-26, Rom.4:1-3)

Baptism is commanded of all believers as an outward sign of the inward work God has already done in our hearts. Our faith saves us – no works are required. So as we obey the command to be baptized – we are already saved and are now showing our salvation through our obedience to be baptized.

      Hope that clarifies 🙂
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  5. Thank you for this Easter message. I am reminded with humility of how great and awesome this God is…..i don’t have to do anything to make myself good enough before he can accept me..his love and forgiveness is FREE….and will always be!…It’s just a matter of accepting him and boom we all begin to operate in his love and in the power of the holy spirit….awesome awesome God!

  6. Courtney,
What a BLESSING it is to me to receive your emails and watch your videos! Your Christ-like example really encourages me to consistently lean on God and to rely on him in everything, including my walk with my family, and with others. I love that you are applying Proverbs 31, and all the other verses like it, to yours and your family’s lives, and that you’re showing others how to do the same with gentleness and joy. May God bless you and your family richly this Easter weekend, and keep on walking with the King! It gives women like me such encouragement to do the same.
    In Christ’s Love,
    Nicole
