Easter Pictures &…I Stumble A Lot

 easter morning 5

We hope you had a wonderful Easter remembering and celebrating our Risen Savior. Here’s a few pictures from our day. In the pictures below, Alexis had made a surprise video for her brother {expressing her love} and we were playing it for him on the television. Then we made our traditional Resurrection Rolls for breakfast.

In the directions for the Resurrection Rolls, I mention that it’s very important that you get the seams closed…here’s what happens if you don’t! lol! #FAIL But they tasted good!

Then off to church we went.

After church we went to my parent’s house for Easter Dinner.  Below are my grandmother, my parents, my sisters and their families.

We always take a “sisters” picture on Easter together…there was a lot of laughter trying to get this picture this year…

I’m over at The Better Mom today.  The topic –>> I Stumble A Lot…with my words.

I am a woman of many words lol! and Proverbs 10:19 says “When words are many, sin is not absent. But he who holds his tongue is wise.”

I long to be a woman who is filled with life giving words. Who is filled with grace and mercy. But the reality is – I stumble in many ways (James 3:2). And when I stumble, it brings pain to others and to my own soul. I long to be free of this problem in my life – to be so full of wisdom and self-control that I never ever stumble again!

But let me be honest, I stumble! I stumble all of the time in my marriage, in my parenting, and sadly with my friendships!

  1. Hi Courtney!
Such beautiful pictures!! Love to see your family, you look so wel put together! Love the way you look and the way you dress! I know you have made a video about dressing nice for you husband, but maybe you can make another one? And maybe a hairtutorial?
Love your blogs, they brought me back to the Lord! Your video’s bring so much inspiration to me!
    Thanks for being you!
    With love, Sandra (the Netherlands)

  2. Hey Courtney,

Don’t worry about the fail….I had the same picture on my facebook but mine was not cause I didn’t make sure the seams were sealed, but out of date marshmellows and they would not melt but got bigger and bigger. LOL By the way, love the website, and the encouragement that you give.

  3. I loved the post and the reminder from James. I remember working in this Bible Study and the video of your cute kids. Your daughter said it perfectly that once words are spoken you can’t take them back. How many times have we wished we could take back something we’ve said?

P.S. My Resurrection Rolls look like that every year! LOL! We just say Jesus busted through that tomb on Easter Sunday. (Yes, we know that’s not in the Bible.)
P.S.S. That color blue looks fabulous on all of you.

  4. Lovely post. That blue color looks great on you. I just saw your post in The Better Mom. I really like what your daughter, Lexie, said, “Walk with the King” I hope I got her name right. Thanks for your encouragement and giving me positive reinforcement to read the Bible daily, as you said, “to soak all his words.” Blessing to you and your lovely family.

  5. Who gave you the baskets? I love that they are not candy! Thanks for sharing your family. Please share what is in the Easter baskets for ideas! Thanks

  6. Hey Courtney! Thanks for the updates and words of encouragement. When I made our Resurrection Rolls my husband from the other room heard my, “OH NO!” cry and immediately came into the kitchen to find me standing there looking at my tray pitifully saying, “Jesus oozed out of the tomb this year!” Our rolls looked just like yours!

In other news, thanks again for keeping up the Proverbs 31 videos. I go throw them weekly and find them to be such inspiration. Personally, I think Sherwood Pictures should create a sequel to Courageous and make geared towards women, they need to make a Proverbs 31 Woman movie.

  7. What a wonderful Easter you had. Lots of smiles and family–two of the best things on earth. I love the modest cami/shirt under your pretty dress. I need to purchase some of those–especially in that color. Where did you happen find it?

And thanks to your encouraging words, my family is taking a giant leap of faith and pulling my daughters from public school and homeschooling them next year. Thank you for your faithfulness to God and passing it along through your blog–it is a blessing in my life.

  8. I’m glad to hear other people’s rolls busted open too! Ours flopped but tasted great! I enjoy seeing you with your sisters. I have 3 sisters and we have so much fun together. Sometimes we don’t appreciate them until we all grow up and move away:( I love reading your posts and I’ve started a little GMG group this spring and we are loving drinking in the Living Water each morning. I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement! May The Lord richly bless you!

  9. Hi Courtney, I’m so glad you and your beautiful family had a wonderful day celebrating our precious Lord! May I ask where you got your sweet Alexis’ pajamas? Our two-year-old baby girl’s favorite thing to do is snuggle (or as she likes to say, ” ‘nuggle, Mama?”) and our nickname for her is Emmy Bug so those pajamas would be so perfect for her! Thank you so much, Courtney for your inspiring posts and work in bringing people to the Lord! God bless you and your family!

  10. Beautiful pics Courtney!! Your Resurrection Rolls look about like mine did, and you’re right they were delicious!! DH surprisingly didn’t want to try them based on their look, but that meant the boys got another 🙂 He doesn’t know what he missed! My boys wants to make them all the time now…might need to put crescent rolls in my list, then!
