My Vacation Pictures and A Summer Book Club!

Last week my family hit the pause button on life and we headed down to the beaches of South Carolina.

…for some wave riding, collecting of sea shells, kite flying, reading of books on the beach, and the building of sandcastles.

My husband rented a Harley for a day…(helmet included) –just not for the picture 🙂 !

And my tough guy Harley Dude was knotting-a-quilt in the evenings with my daughter.  He’s such a great father –makes my heart gush!!!

We played a little putt-putt golf – my husband beat me by 3 strokes!

And may or may not have enjoyed some romantic time together 😉 !

I return, relaxed and refreshed but a little off kilter as we settle the family back in after vacation.

So, I’m hitting the pause button on the {Opposite World} series and will resume it again next Monday.

Instead, I want to announce the Summer Book Club over at GoodMorningGirls.org !  I really hope you will join me over there for this – it’s gonna be SO good!!!

  1. Courtney, so glad you enjoyed our beaches for a week. I think we have the most beautiful coastline, but that’s because I live here! Loved the picture of you and your husband on the Harley. Mine has an Indian, and he, too, rode for a day. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

  2. Thanks so much for sharing pictures of your vacation. I felt relaxed just looking at the pictures.
I enjoy your emails so very much. Have a blessed week!

  3. Looks like everyone had a blast! I have Jennie Allen’s book on my Kindle
So I’ll be all set for the summer book club 🙂

  5. Aw, Courtney! I wish I could have met you while you were down here in SC! I guess a virtual hug will just have to do for now! Glad your family was able to get away and enjoy some vacation time together!

  6. So glad you had a vacation week! I’m in South Carolina!! 🙂 we are heading to Hilton Head next week! I’m so ready! I pulled together my materials to start the Summer session when I return. I know it’s going to be great!

  7. Looks like you had a good family vacation! 🙂 I wanted to ask when you were going to do another video or post about how your homeschooling is going? I homeschool my kids ages 9 and 7. They likedthe video you did about the books your kids liked reading! I was curious what you switched to for your girl fr rod and staff reading to what? Thanks!

  8. Is that Isle of Palms in Charleston SC? My dad lived there and we visited from Canada often…looks so familiar…and I’m sure you had an amazing time!

    1. Hi Lisa!

We were on Hilton Head Island – but I hear that the Isle of Palms is very similiar only a bit smaller. Thanks for asking 🙂
      Courtney

  9. Yup, I guessed Hilton Head — WIIIIIIIIIDE beaches there. I live in Columbia, and our favorite beach spot is Edisto Island, south of HH. There is absolutely NOTHING to do there except enjoy the ocean. Walk near it, swim in it, read a book by it, look at it, listen to it, and eat from it. Oh, our trip in August can’t get here fast enough! Glad you enjoyed my state 🙂
