New Series Announcement: Thriving In a Spiritually Mismatched Marriage

www.geodun.com

Next week we begin a week long series titled: Thriving in a Spiritually Mismatched Marriage.

I can not wait for you to meet my friend Lynn!  I had the privilege of reading in advance and endorsing her most recent book she co-authored titled, Not Alone: Trusting God to Help You Raise Godly Kids in a Spiritually Mismatched Home.  I LOVED this book and the minute I closed it I knew we needed her voice here at Women Living Well.  I get emails on a regular basis from women in this very situation.  I pray that her words will be a comfort and inspiration to us all.  I have already learned so much off of her as a Titus 2 woman and I look forward to learning more.

So let me introduce you – this is Lynn!

 Lynn Donovan

She has been featured guest on the 700 Club Interactive, Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson’s FamilyTalk and FamilyLife Today. I am currently on vacation and I have brought her book, Not Alone along for a second read…

 Not alone 2

Yes, I’m somewhere with palm trees for much needed time away with my family and rest (I heard it’s single digits and snowing at home – so I’m feeling double blessed and I’ll try to not complain about the sunburns and rashes we are experiencing Lol!…today we had to spend the day in the room recouping from sun poisoning – ugh!).  I’ll share more pictures with you later but until then – my heart and prayers are with you all.

Walk with the King,

Courtney

  1. Hi Courtney! I hope you’re enjoying your vacation! My husband and I just got back from one last week. 🙂 Question for you, although off topic…..are you or GMG doing a conference again this year? My girlfriend and I would LOVE to come if that was the case, or if you decide to do another one in the future. We’re in PA, close to Ohio. Thanks!

    1. Meghan – thank you so much for asking. I apologize that I have nothing in the works this year. But thanks for letting me know your interest for the future if I decide to do one! 🙂

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

      1. Oh please do consider doing another conference maybe next year??? pretty pleeeeese??? I understand it’s a lot of work but I know you could recruit a lot of people to help you. Maybe make it into a weekend retreat for us women. I know I for one could use a two day retreat type thing..where we could get pampered physically AND spiritually 😀

  2. Hello Courtney,

hope you and your family are having a wonderful time. We are experiencing mild temperatures since the beginning of March. It is already Spring or should I say Spring has Sprung (lol 🙂

I just re-ordered “Not alone” together with “Winning him without words”. but now I see we don’t need it to follow the series. I already had another book on the subject: “Spiritually Single Moms” by Nancy Sebastian Meyer. I am really looking forward to this series.

May I ask if we could see a follow up on your book or perhaps something totally different ? 🙂

Anyhow, you already know I love the blog/website and your vlogs! And look forward to each email (subscribed to get your updates in my inbox).

As it is Friday afternoon, here in lil’ old Belgium, I will end my ramblings by wishing you all a very nice weekend!!!!

As always: blessings from A from BE

  3. Hi Courtney,

I am really looking forward to this series. My husband and I were high school sweethearts, have been together for 8 years, and married for a little over two. He grew up in an atheist household, and I grew up in a very faithful, baptist household. He has gone from someone who is angry with the idea of God, to someone who goes to church with me every Sunday and is starting to accept that God loves him, and that He really is there. But I feel so discouraged sometimes. I don’t want to put any pressure on him to think a certain way because that doesn’t work, he has to come to God himself. He is such a wonderful, supportive, loving husband, our views on God are just different (which is a big deal for me) I am just working on being a loving, supportive wife and hopefully he will be able to witness God’s love through me. But anyways, I am so excited for this series, it came at such a wonderful time.
    Love,
    Mallory

  4. I am beyond excited and grateful for this announcement! Lynn’s ministry came into my life about 2-3 years ago and she is amazing! God has used her immensely in my life as I walk this walk of the spiritually mismatched. I have never met her in person, but she has responded to my cries for help on multiple occasions and she is for real. She’s living proof God can and redeem us for his kingdom cause! Courtney, thank you so much for doing this…your blog and ministry is also such an encouragement. I love how God can use women from all over the country, all over the world really, through the internet..blogland is a beautiful place that I am immensely grateful for!! Have an amazing vacation, & I thank you again!!!

  5. I’m excited for this!! Thank uou for featuring Lynn. I’m in a spiritually mismatched marriage as I have only known The Lord for one year. My husband has ‘Christian values’ buy doesn’t acknowledge his need for a saviour. He loves us going to church because he gets the house to himself!! Lol

    1. Chantelle, I am in the same boat as you. I’ve known the Lord for several years now… My husband has Christian values also, but we are not on the same page spiritually. It is so hard on me having to step in as the “spiritual leader” in our family sometimes. Just like your husband, he loves that we go to church, mainly because he gets the house to himself. Makes me so sad. I’ll say a prayer for you. I know how difficult it is & how easy it is to get discouraged. We have to stay strong for our children in this very crazy world 🙂

  6. I am glad to see that you lovely Ladies, take time to spend with your families as well. Enjoy the remainder of your vacation. Blessings! 🙂

  7. Thank you very much for this. I have been praying for help and a mentor to teach me how to be strong in my Christian walk while being respectful of my non-Christian husband. If you know of anyone, let me know but I will definitely be following this series as well as subscribing to their blogs.

  8. wow talk about God’s timing. I was talking about this in Sunday school and asking for prayer about it. Yea God for bringing Lynn into my life through your blog. I am excited to see where this will go.

Courtney enjoy yourself….jealous. Here in PA it’s quiet chilly and windy as well. So awaiting Spring after a very, long, harsh, cold, winter.

  9. When I opened the email announcing this I thought “Oh thank you Lord, someone gets it!” Thank you Courtney for locating this resource for us. I went through the Women Living Well book Bible Study and it felt kind of odd. If that makes sense….. Nothing wrong with the book, just that there are so many Christian Women who are mentoring the younger ones who have a Christian husband.

  10. Thank you Courtney. What prefect timing our Saviour has to bring this to our attention. My husband and I are both newish christian as in we lost our way with Christ but have found Him again last year. We seem to have different views but that’s ok. We all have to make and build our relationship with God and this happens at different rates. Can’t wait. Enjoy your holiday.

  11. Oh how I wish I was on a vacation in a tropical location! This winter has been especially brutal. Was 40 degrees Tuesday and 2 degrees with a foot of snow on Wednesday. Gotta LOVE NE Ohio winters. I for one am OVER IT! I’m taking a brief vacation in two weeks…only 7 days off work & hoping to get away to somewhere warm if only for a few days as my son’s school will be on Spring Break that week.

I bought this book and have only skimmed through it. Hope to have time to finish it this weekend. Sorry to hear about the sun poisoning 🙁 Enjoy the remainder of your vacation!

  12. Dearest Courtney,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for remembering those of us who are spiritually mismatched. I am so looking forward to this study. I have been married to my sweetheart for over 30 years & I recommitted my life to Jesus close to 10 years ago. Our relationship is challenging, frustrating & a blessing all rolled into one. It is comforting to know there are other sisters out there.
