Blogging Through the Bible Reading Plans & eWorkbooks

announcement 2

On the first Sunday of every month, I will be posting the monthly reading plan, eWorkbooks and the first of 4 weekly reading plans.

This is what it will look like ( this is September’s plan for all those who would like to prepare for what is about to begin on August 31st.)

SeptReadPlan[1]

This is a free printable – click here to print it.

Here are the weekly reading plans I will be posting each Sunday morning in September (printable links to come):

SeptWeekOne[2]     SeptWeekTwo[1]     SeptWeekThree[1]     SeptWeekFour[1]

You will notice there are no numbered weeks.  We will not be labeling weeks as — week 1 or week 2.  The reason, we want new readers to be able to join in anytime. We do not want anyone to feel like they have fallen behind and can’t join in or take a break and return.

How to Read Your Bible for this series:

1.) Simply read a chapter a day out of your Bible and pray.

2.) Listen to a chapter a day using the Free YouVersion App.  We do not have a GMG reading plan available at Youversion but you can manually go to the passage of scripture for the day and click the volume button. YouVersion will then read it out loud to you – you can do this in your car, kitchen, while you exercise or as you fall asleep at night.

3.) Use the Short or Long version of the S.O.A.P. method to study the chapter of the day. We have created free downloadable eWorkbooks to guide you through this method (or you may use a journal you already have). Here is how it works.

S- The S stands for Scripture– you physically write out the scripture……you’ll be amazed at what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write out what you are reading!

O- The O stands for observation- what do you see in the verses that you’re reading. Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you? What do we learn about the character of God?

A- The A stands for Application– this is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take?

P- And finally, P stands for Prayer. Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.

Please note: You can choose to write out as much or as little of the “S”cripture of the day as you like.  I will not be assigning which verses to SOAP.  Choose the one(s) that speak most to you and SOAP them.

Here are the first two eWorkbooks to download and print if you’d like a guide for Esther:

Esther  – Short eWorkbook

Esther – Long eWorkbook

The other workbooks will be available soon.

And finally, here is the monster resource – a free printable of every book and chapter of the Bible to mark off as you complete your reading.  You will want to print this and save it somewhere near your Bible (or in it).  We will be flipping back and forth between the Old and New Testament, so you will want to keep track of what you have completed in case you need to take a break and return.

This reading plan does not have our schedule on it, as it is subject to change.

All of these reading plans and eWorkbooks will be archived on the Good Morning Girls Resources Page through out the year.  I will also include past links to the devotionals and videos on the Resource Page as well, so they are accessible any time.

  6. Hello Courtney,

thank you so much for providing us with these resources. 🙂

I joined the international group (Rosilind) and as I am writing this comment, the group has already grown into a group of 11 lovely ladies. I can’t wait to start the study. And I am also excited about the coming “marriage retreat”.

Big hugs and many blessings x

  7. This looks SUPER. Thank you for all the work and time you have put into this act of service to us. Courtney, I have a suggestion–only a suggestion, I feel very discouraged about what is happening in the Middle East, in America, the weaker than water churches, media, and how quickly our world seems to be declining. Christian persecution seems to be politically correct even. I don’t know whether to watch the news or not watch the news. Maybe you could consider a blog post on living in the darkness. I know Jesus is our hope in my head. But I feel scared just the same. I am a bad representation of Jesus when I am sad and scared for my children’s future world here–even in America.

  8. Thank you so much Courtney for putting this all together and for thinking simple over ornate. I can finally print the cover page! For us gals on a tight budget that means a lot! I also love the long form of the study for those who write a lot, we don’t have to cram eery thing into the spaces. Yeah! What a blessing you are to us Good Morning Girls!

  9. YAY!!! I am so excited for this! I have always wanted to read the entire Bible but whenever I would reach Leviticus, it was over. I struggle reading through all of that Old Testament Law even though I know it is still important to understand today. This is going to be a huge blessing in my life, I can already tell! Thank you so very much for doing this study. I know that God will continue to bless your ministry for all of us Good Morning Girls. 🙂

  10. I am so excited to embark on this journey with you! I am so thankful for you and the GMG team and your devotion to God’s Word and encouraging women to dig in a little bit every day. I believe that this long journey is going to grow my relationship with God in new and profound ways.

  11. Printing stuff off and getting ready for the my adventure with you. Thank you for the time and effort spent into getting this all put together!!

    Many blessings.
    Charlotte

    1. Also, a HUGE thank you to you and everyone involved in creating all these downloads. I know it was a lot of work and it is very appreciated. Blessings to all

  12. To Courtney and her team,
I have seen through the organization and style of work, with great consideration given to the needs of others it is obvious that God is in the midst and blessing you in His glory. I am thankful that He has blessed me to be a part of this study into His word with so many wonderful and faithful ladies and connecting me with Carla’s group. Glory be to God!
    Rosalyn

  13. Thank you so much! I am really looking forward to this and even have my husband joining me in the reading plan! Can’t wait.

  14. Many thanks to you and your team Courtney! I appreciate your ministry so much! Looking forward to reading thru the Bible with you and all the other women! Blessing to ya! 🙂

  15. I have decided to do this with my 2 teen girls! They have been looking for a quiet time plan and it just dawned on me why not have them join with me for GMG. I’m really excited to see what conversations develope over the course of this first study! 🙂

  16. I love the fact that there are no dates! I am one who will fall behind after a couple of busy days, then feel guilty and behind & overwhelmed with the need to “catch-up” so this is perfect for me!! Thank you so much for putting this together, I really look forward to joining you for this. 🙂

  17. Courtney, when I first saw you were doing this study I was just simply thinking how this was such a great idea but wasn’t sure if i wanted to commit to the study. But then I saw the first study was Esther! Which so happens to be EXACTLY what I’ve been “studying” this past week after going to my church library and got caught up in actually reading a book from “Young Readers Christian Library” collection, about Esther. And they also had the movie “One Night With The King” so I figured maybe I should study the book of Esther! And I have enjoyed it emensely! There is so much we can learn from Esther.

  18. I got a small journal that I’m using to write about each chapter and so far it’s been amazing! I’m using blueletterbible.org to understand some of the word meanings and it’s been so awesome to know what God’s heart is for me and us through His Word. Thanks for leading and putting this together! What forum should I check in with for chatting?

  19. These look beautiful Courtney! Thank you so much. You are not a quitter in any way and I sooo love how that shows in everything you’ve done here. Thanks again.

  20. I SO EXCITED TO START THIS PROGRAM. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK IN PUTTING THIS TOGETHER..

  21. I would like to give you a big thank-you for all your hard work and dedication! You are such a blessing! I have started a group on fb to go along with our studies for daily discussion and encouragement for my friends and anyone else is welcome to join the support group. I labelled it blogging through the bible so it is easy to find. This will be a very exiting journey!

    1. Ladies I have changed the fb group name to coincide with this study to Journey Through The Bible. Join my friends and I for discussions and encouragement through the study of Blogging Through The Bible!

  22. Thank you so much for doing this! I am a busy pastor’s wife, Mom, and private school music teacher and this is exactly what I’ve been looking for to help guide me in my quiet time. I’m gathering some girlfriends to join in and keep accountable. Thank you, Courtney. 🙂 This is a blessing.

  23. Yeah! Oh Courtney this is so GOOD! Thank you for all the instant time invested and put forth to gather this all together and present it to us ahead of the start date! How beautiful and truly wonderful every thing is and You are!!! This took alot and I sure appreciate the downloads made available. (a brief description of the difference between the long and short eworkbook of SOAP for Esther might be nice to know if you can squeeze that in your post above, rather than here in the comments so all may know for the future). The BIG checklist of all the chapters is SUPER and so appreciated! Thank you so much!

May God bless you, your family and GMG forever. Your hard work and time spent shows greatly!
(((hugs))) so glad that we’re past the icky stuff and still praying for you and this …
    Peggy

  24. I am an old GMG gal – I’m looking forward to our new home over here! Cannot wait to get started with you on this journey, I am really going to commit to doing this!

  25. I just wanted to let you know what a blessing you are to me Courtney! I am a homemaker, wife and mother to two small children. You are such an encouragement to me. Thank you!! I am so looking forward to walking in the Word with you as you lead in this new direction. I have had a desire to go through Scripture in this way, so I was thrilled to see your verse by verse plan through the Bible! Thank you!

  26. Thank you for this study and reading plan. I’ve been out of Bible study ever since my kids were born and I miss it terribly. Reading and studying the Bible (and prayer) are vital to a Christian’s life, especially a stay-at-home homeschooling mom and yet it’s gotten dropped in the craziness of my days. I just found you a few weeks ago. Thank you for being an instrument of God’s grace in my life. Very excited for 8/31.

  27. Hi Courtney, just a quick question. I was watching your Bible Study Methods video and you mentioned that you use a notebook for SOAP Bible Study and another notebook for journaling. I have always had everything in the one journal and I was just wondering whether you still use the separate notebooks. Do you find it hard to keep track of it all in different notebooks (especially if we have a gratitude journal as well)? I tend to go off a bit and have a brain dump in my journaling, so it might be a good idea to keep them separated so I can find what I’m looking for! Just curious!! Bless you.

    1. Hi Amanda – the reason I was using a separate notebook at the time was because I save my journals according to date but I wanted to save my Bible Studies according to “book of the Bible”. But I have merged the two now because it was two hard to have them separate. In theory – I feel like it was a better idea but my reality was I like it all in one place 😉

      Good question! Thanks for asking!
      Courtney

      1. Thanks so much for replying. I have actually decided to keep it all in the one notebook because often something comes up in the Bible study that I have been convicted about previously and I like to journal that process. Looking forward to the start of the study (I have a whole new notebook at the ready!!!)

  28. I am so grateful to have found this! I was just recently praying about finding a way to stay consistent in my study time. This is prefect. Thank you so much for such a wonderful resource.

  29. Reading the bible completely from cover to back, is on my bucket list. The task seems so daunting that I have never been successful at staying on track. Your plan appears very doable. I am in… not sure where to sign up, but I am in.
    Connie

  30. Looking forward to the start of this as I’ve become lax and doing my studying over the Summer. Thanks so much for sharing the resources for this study. 🙂

  31. Sorry about the late response; but I have been trying to register a small email group and cannot find any information on how to register it. I have invited 4 ladies to join and have so far confirmed with 2 that have started the reading but we don’t have our group registered as yet. How do we do that. Sorry, based upon leading from the Lord, I am not currently on Facebook.
    Sheila

  32. HI! I’m all printed out and excited to start Esther but I have tried several times to find a group within The Forum with no luck. Can someone please direct me to a Facebook group so that I can have a few women to share this journey with? I fit into many categories: SAHM and ArmyWife, Over 30…it doesn’t really matter to me. Just looking to be a part.

      1. Hi Mandy! I am participating in this program, and I need to find a group. I was accidently placed in the international group, but I’m not international! I live in Geneva, IL! I left that group, but would like to be in another group. Can you help! I’m not picky; just want to know what others are learning from the word!

  33. I am so excited. My ultimate goal is to grow closer to God and I am hopeful that this program will help me do so. Thank you!

  34. I guess that I missed the 1st week but I still would like to join so that I can get into the habit of reading my Bible on a daily basis. Could someone share with me a group that is on Facebook that I can join? I would like to be accountable for reading each day. Thank so much & God bless!!
