The SOAP method of study is explained in the workbooks.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE NO ASSIGNED PASSAGES TO SOAP – PLEASE FOLLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT’S LEADING AND DO WHAT TIME ALLOWS.

Some may NOT want to SOAP at all – simply work on the daily discipline of being in God’s word.

Some may want to SOAP 1 or 2 verses, others may want to do 5-10, still others may want to write out the entire chapter.  Do whatever time allows you in this season of life.

Grace. 😉

The short eWorkbook has one worksheet a day for journaling your thoughts.

The long eWorkbook has 4 worksheets a day for those who like to write more or do extra research.

You do not have to use a workbook at all though. You can simply follow along just reading one chapter a day.

Below is the free printable of every book and chapter of the Bible to mark off as you complete your reading. You will want to print this and save it somewhere near your Bible (or in it). We will be flipping back and forth between the Old and New Testament, so you will want to keep track of what you have completed in case you need to take a break and return.

Are you wondering what we’ll be reading next? In the months of October and November we’ll be reading…

I’ll see you back here this Wednesday with a discussion of this week’s reading.

Have a great week as you walk with the King!

  1. I am loving this way of slow study. I like reading a chapter and finding the verses God wants me to apply. Yay! A new FB page!!

    1. I am so upset. I can’t believe I missed the first week. My life has been so full, and now the tragedy of the loss of one of my students. I hope I can get the lesson and play catch up. I really need this right now.

      1. Tragedy? I’m so sorry. I would say don’t try to play catch up, unless you have the time. Start where you are now. Playing catch can be stressful and maybe cause you to rush through. Just take it easy and let His Word soak in and bring comfort and healing and whatever you need, Dee. Grace to you.

        Cindy

  2. The resources you have put together makes this so easy, I have no excuses not to be jumping into God’s Word! I am looking forward to finishing Esther and being able to mark off a whole book on the reading guide! Blessings for you and your family this coming week!

  3. I love this method so much better than the old GMG one. I really struggled with reading just one or two verses a day because I read so fast. I still have a hard time not jumping ahead but I feel like I am actually reading something and getting stuff to think on this time so I can see myself sticking with it, as opposed to giving up a week or so in. 🙂

  4. YAY so great that you started a new Facebook page! Already liked it! God Bless You Courtney as you continue on with the Lord’s work and what He has Planned for our group!

I’m behind as I started my new job last week but am catching up right now. Go Steelers(sorry Courtney).

  5. Yes! YAY for the new FB page!!! I have read through the Bible a fair amount of times in my lifetime – but have never gone slowly through each chapter. This has been a great first week for me! I had thought about doing a SOAP study through the Bible but felt overwhelmed with it. I guess I have always had it ingrained into me that you had to read the whole Bible in a year’s time. Well – I don’t think there are any such written rules! Blessings to you, Courtney and WLW and GMG!!!

  6. Loved week 1. I was able to get in the Word every day, and my enthusiasm for Esther has caught my husband’s attention! Looking forward to this week!

  7. Good evening. I was just referred to your website and I look forward to this new journey. I’m faced with a challenging situation and have been losing faith at times. Want to remain faithful and positive throughout this ordeal. And this seems like the perfect start to a new beginning.

  8. I just want to thank you again and encourage you. This has meant so much to me. I have been having so many challenges going and your idea of going through the Bible one chapter has been just what I needed to jump start and refocus me on the Word. It has been so needed right now for me. And the one chapter really allows me to ponder and really chew on the Word and not just rush through. And the more flexible approach is allowing me to really dig in and see what God is showing me. Already I have gotten so, so much out of the Esther reading and I have just been so excited this whole week with sharing with our group.

It has just been very meaningful and making a difference in my life and I just wanted to affirm you and your vision and let you know that God is working through you. Also Wednesday’s post was such good insight and Godly counsel. Thanks again.

  9. Dee Porter, my sympathy for the loss of one of your students. Prayers going up.

Courtney, I am enjoying this slower paced study and love letting God determine which verses I should focus on. I’ve always struggled with quieting my mind/soul to really listen for God’s guidance in studies and this approach is making me work on it every day. God Bless!

  10. Hello everyone, I have just joined this group thanks to a very dear friend of mine. Thanks Dee for your beautiful wisdom, love and encouragement. Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to share my faith with you all. It means so much. Thank you Karissa for adding me in.
Coming in on the end of Esther, it has been the fodder I needed right here right now. The message from this story is “Quit worrying and trying to figure out everything that is going on in your life. When you are tempted to waver, take your position and see the salvation God has planned for you’ I need to print this out, highlight it and read it everyday!!! Blessing to you all. Peta

  11. I have been really enjoying this walk through God’s word and using the soap method, so excited about this weeks journey!!!!!!

  12. Recently I saw discussions on Facebook regarding the readings. How can I become a part of discussions about what we’ve read.? I enjoy learning from others insight.

  13. Hi Courtney! My name is Chelsea. I am a homeschool mom of 6. I am actually reading along with my 6 children! I have two girls, and 4 boys. I have found that if I try to keep up with different Bible schedules/plans with all the kids and their curriculum, we fall behind. This year, I decided that I would incorporate all my kids into my reading plan. We are starting our day around the kitchen table with your reading plan. We all really enjoyed reading Esther together. I do have one question/suggestion. Is there a way I can change your printable resources to look less “girly” for my boys… I am making them notebooks, and I know my boys will have a chuckle if I give them the pretty notebooks the girls and I are going to love. Just wondering… I’m sure I can make my own, but I thought it would be so much easier, If I could simply change the font on the ones I am printing for the girls and I. Thank you so much for doing this!! We are loving it so far!!

    1. Hi Chelsea – that’s so great your children are doing this with you!!! Wow! Awesome!

The reading plans are jpegs so the font cannot be changed. The eWorkbooks were done in Word and then changed to pdfs…if you all are using the eWorkbooks and want me to email them to you, I can do that – just email me and I’ll send them your way 😉

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney
