  1. Looking forward to diving back into Proverbs this week! Since I am doing this study on my own I really appreciate all the tools that you have posted above. With those and all the discussion on Facebook and Instagram I feel like I’m in one, big online group!

    1. Lori – I’m so glad you are joining us and you feel at home here. This big on-line community is such a blessing (and fun!!!)

Keep pressing on and have a great week in His Word!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  2. This is my first GMG study and I have been enjoying it. The five lessons a week works great for me – if I miss one, I catch up on the weekend! I have been doing the SOAK study, but not the highlighting yet (baby steps). I enjoy reading the blogs every day and I have been excited to find another opportunity to study God’s word! Thanks!

    1. Welcome Michele,

I’m so glad you are enjoying it and yes – we need our weekends for catch up don’t we? We used to have 7 day reading plans and I couldn’t keep up either. This pace is perfect. And I have a feeling you’ll be busting out your colored pencils in no time 😉 Lol!

Have a great week in His Word!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  3. I love that you do this. Thank you so much for all of the effort you put into our Bible study. Every morning I look forward to sneaking away on the back deck while the kids eat their breakfast to do my daily reading and journaling and comment along with the Good Morning Girls Facebook page. This has been such a blessing!

  4. This walk through Proverbs has been such a Blessing. I have especially enjoyed the group sharing. It has deepened, enriched and enhanced my own study by receiving the wise words GOD is giving through others. I have not been highlighting, but I have been (sort of) scrapbooking in the GMG Proverbs Journal. I am not a scrapbooking person but computerizing my SOAK’s, adding them and other scripture verses that come to mind, and accenting the pages with cheerfulness has been a JOY. Thank you for leading us in this journey with the LORD!

  5. This is my first online bible study these chapters are somewhat hard to comprehend but I love going to instagram and following u courtney with the color coding thank u so much

  6. I took some time off because of a move we made, school out, summer…excuses, excuses! I’m ready to get back into reading a chapter a day and being held accountable. I am literally going to blog through the Bible with you on Cooking Up Faith, by posting a very short devotional and prayer with each daily chapter reading. That’s my goal. 🙂 I’ve added your button to my side-bar and “about” page to invite my readers to join along. Thank you for staying strong in God’s Word when some of us start to slide!

  7. Having lost my mother-in-law, my husband’s grandmother, and one of my closest uncles all in the past two months, I am in dire need of some encouragement and a lot of Jesus. This study is bringing joy to my life each day and I love sharing the experience with my Facebook group and here on the blog. Thank you for your ministry, Courtney!

  8. Hi Good Morning Girls & Courtney!
I’ve been loving this study this summer and I’ve been running a facebook group related to fitness/working out and this study! My ladies are really enjoying it too. Thank you for all these resources – I use them on the page and direct them back here for the blog posts! I did want to ask if I could get the image for the Proverbs 15 question – it’s not showing up on this page. I click on the one that shows 15, but it is Proverbs 12 and then no Proverbs 15 shows up! Thank you for all your hard work – I love this group and color-coding my Bible!

    Michelle

    1. Hi Michelle – your group sounds great! Thank you for your leadership!

      Here’s chapter 15’s Discussion Question:

Chapter 15: When we speak we can bring life to those around us. How do
you strive to ensure that your words speak life?

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  9. What if one doesn’t really have a Bible (except for online resources) or the means to buy the book or journal or to even print it? I missed the group sign-up, but there really wasn’t anything for lonely people who aren’t sure if God listens to them.

Also, I read the passages and don’t really get anything out of them.I pray, and I seem to get silence or if I do seem to get answer, something goes wrong– Like God dangles a carrot. So why should I do it if I don’t feel involved? Why should I even pray or try?

    1. Hi Laura,

We do not have sign-ups here – all are welcome to join us anytime and you can use as little or as much of the resources as you’d like.

We have a wonderful community where no one is ever alone out on facebook and instagram. The links are in the post above. I hope you will join us there.

      Much Love,
      Courtney

    2. Laura,

Were you able to connect with the group via FB? Do you still need a bible?

Sometimes it does feels like you don’t get anything out of a reading. There are different reasons for it. Your mind and heart may be elsewhere. It happens time all the time. Or it’s just hard to find a way to connect to the chapter. I would suggest that you just keep reading. Keep praying.

    3. Hi Laura,
I think a lot of us struggle to find meaning and understanding in some of the scripture passages. Several years ago, my husband bought me a Life Application Study Bible that I absolutely love! It breaks down nearly every scripture and explains what is meant and how it can be applied to everyday life situations. It is easy to read and easy to understand. It makes reading the bible more fun instead of frustrating or overwhelming. You can find this bible on Amazon and simply order it. I have the NIV, but there are other versions as well. Check it out, I think you will like it. Continue to pray and actively seek God. Keep in mind that He doesn’t always give us the answer we want, but it doesn’t mean He isn’t listening. Most times, He replies very subtly like a whisper, but we expect something larger or more obvious. I think having a greater understanding of Him by reading the bible helps us to recognize those whispers easier.

  10. I have always wondered about color coding – what colors went with what ideas – making it meaningful to me
. I read a book by Elizabeth George once who said any time she saw a verse that applied to her role as a woman she highlighted it pink.
The Bible pics are beautiful. I have done some of this but plan to use it more in the future.
Thank you Courtney for all the Bible Study ideas!

  11. When I get behind is there an easy way to find the past chapter/s? I am enjoying the study, the site that leads to other good sites! I am so thankful I retired early so I can spend a lot of time in the Word!

  12. hi everyone, I am a week behind. but am catching up. last week or maybe 2. I was unable to follow along but I got up to 10 on sat. and sun. so maybe I think I can get caught up. its hard to do anything with 3 little ones. but I would not change a thing I love them so much and I know I can catch up. I am loving this study in proverbs. while I am trying to catch up , and its hard to find time to read, I still value the importance of taking a while to let what I read sink in and absorb it all so that I follow what the Lord says to do.
