Most of my favorite things are things you can't buy; they are about family and home. But, here are 10 of my favorite things to buy a loved one in your life. #WomenLivingWell #Giftguide #bibles #cosmetics #macbookw

Last year, I posted a list of 10 of My Favorite Things!

So…Here’s 10 MORE of My Favorite Things!

Spiritual

1.) The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers & Devotions

This prayer book is deep and beautiful.   It is not an easy read but if you read some of the reviews out on Amazon, you will see that it is loved and does not disappoint!  This is for someone who wants to go deeper in their prayer life.  Every time I pull it out to pray through it – I am humbled and changed.

There is both a paperback and leather version available for this prayer book.

2.) The Adventure Bible for Kids

Readers sometimes ask what Bible I recommend for their kids.  We started using these Bibles for the kids when they turned 5 and we love them!  I love that they come in blue and pink!

3.)  Bible Hi-Gliders (Gel Highlighters)

It’s no surprise these made my Top Ten list this year!  I LOVE my Bible Hi-Gliders!  They do not bleed through the page and I love their brightness!  I also use Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils.  I love those too!

4.) His Grace is Sufficient Mug and Journal

This is one of my favorite mugs and the journal is such a fun bonus!  I love journals and use them up quickly.  This is one of my favorites because it has a verse on every page and it is spiral bound making it so easy to write in. This set would be the perfect gift for a friend or relative.

5.) Life Management for Busy Women by Elizabeth George

This book is by one of my favorite authors Elizabeth George.  I own many of her books but this one has a study guide and was really fun to go through with friends.  It is so relevant to all of our lives and touches on managing our spiritual lives, homes, health, finances, social life and service.  I love it!

6.)  The Hidden Art of Homemaking by Edith Shaeffer

This is a very unique book – like nothing in the bookstores now. It is a bit dated but it’s all about the art of homemaking and bringing Jesus and beauty into your home.  I love it!

7.) Bath and Body Works Sunless Tanner

Yes, I will admit it – I love it! But here’s the bad news!  After I took the picture and loaded it here I discovered Bath and Body Works is no longer carrying this product!!!  SO sad!  So if you have any recommendations for when my bottle is empty for a new sunless bronzer…I’m interested! Lol!

8.) My Favorite Place to Buy Jewelry – Charming Charlie!

Readers sometimes email me asking where I get my scarves and jewelry – most of them are from Charming Charlie.  I love this place!!!!  Just click the link and you’ll know why. Lol!

9.) J.A. Henckels International Eversharp Pro 7-Piece Knife Set with Block

I use these – every – single – day.  My mom got them for me a long time ago as a gift and they are perfect!

10.) Shark Professional Steam Power Iron (GI405)

About 10 years ago, I complained to a friend about how hard ironing was.  I felt like I did such a bad job and it took so long just to iron one shirt. Lol!  Then she said – what iron are you using? She recommended the Shark brand and I’ve been using it ever since. It gets significantly hotter than other irons and does the job – ironing is much easier with a Shark and so worth the extra cost!

These are 10 of my favorite things!   Maybe it can help you with your Christmas list for your loved ones or for yourself!

  1. I love Charming Charlies, First time I went I was visiting my daughter in Texas they have such cool stuff and when I got home I found out that they were putting in a few stores in my area. I Love the knife set I got my son a set of Wolfgang Pucks but they are so dull I’m sure he would love ones you suggested. Thanks Courtney Merry Christmas

  2. I love the Arbonne products – all made with natural products and they do a great self tanner – well worth a look

  3. Courtney,
Try Tan Towels. They are like big wet wipes. There’s a full body size, half body size and even ones for your face. I got a kit on HSN. Very reasonably priced.
    Bobbie

  4. I have had Edith Schaefer’s book for years, and still love it and refer to it often. I had never heard of Charming Charlie’s, so thank you! I placed an order this morning. I also love Elizabeth George’s book along with many others of hers.
Thank you for such a great list.

  5. I’m starting to wear scarves as an accessory and had completely forgot Charming Charlie has come to an area near me so I will need to check them out. I too love Elizabeth George and have many of her books including Life Management. But I have to say that my favorites of hers are Beautiful in the Eyes of God and A Woman After God’s Own Heart. Also love the Bible Highlighters.

Other favorites – books on homemaking and finance (yes I’m a big Dave Ramsey fan ?) as well as Christian fiction, board games, bath and makeup products. Love Murad face lotion I received as sample but so expensive. Gel pens, especially in not so original colors such as teal, a soft blue and hot pink. And finally, blankets! Soft blankets or pretty quilts. I love wrapping up in one to read a book or nap in. My sweet dog loves them too and constantly joins me! ?

  6. Great list! I love books and haven’t read the ones you recommended yet, so I’ll be ordering those!

As for the sunless tanner? Tanwise. Trust me. It’s the BEST. I use the Tanwise foam and its amazing- and inexpensive. You can find it at Sally beauty supply or on Amazon. Buy it!

  7. Courteney,

I love this list! It’s always helpful when someone else recommends things they have tried. I just wanted to tell you that I love L’oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Lotion. My boss recommended it to me a couple years ago, and I use it every summer! It’s very inexpensive and looks so natural. I’ve had a lot of people ask me if I had been to the beach. I don’t get to do all your Bible Studies (because of time restraints), but the ones I’ve done, I’ve loved. Thanks for all you do, and keep up the great work! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

  8. Great list! Rodan + Fields sunless tanning foam is the best stuff I’ve found…and as one who used to lay in tanning beds, I have gone through a TON of sunless tanners since I swore off tanning beds! Very easy to apply evenly and it doesn’t have that smell that most sunless tanners do! I can order you one if you’re interested!

  9. Love this list!
I love, love, love, love 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream from L’Occitane! Best hand cream ever! No joke! And the little travel size ones are reasonably priced to give as gifts. Everyone I know gets one for Christmas!

  10. Suave has a great sunless tanning lotion that I use every spring and summer….it doesn’t get streaky or orange but stays very natural. Hope you like it!

  11. I love Charming Charlie as well. A few of my other favorite things are Bethel Gospel Assembly’s Christmas eve service (N.Y, N.Y), Carolina Herrera candle, Molton Brown shower gel, all Christmas hymns, the Hallmark channel :), swings and rocking chairs! Be Blessed!

  12. I have used Jergens self-tanner for years now! It is probably my favorite. They recently changed the scent, so it doesn’t smell like a self-tanner anymore. I have also used L’Oreal Sublime like some others have recommended and I like it too. So I don’t get that weird tan on the palms of my hands, I use the St. Tropez tanning applicator mitt (it is about $6 at Sephora). It makes it go on SO much smoother!

  13. My favorite things…Jesus Calling is my daily devo.
Purity face cleanser used with another favorite my Mia.
Self Tanner. ..yes I love it too…I use St. Tropez. ‘Falling in Love’ cologne by Philosophy.
    Good knives. Gigi’s cupcakes.

  14. Hi, Courtney, I love the of your favorite things. Thanks for a couple ideas for my daughters! Regarding the sunless tanner, I invite you to try Rodan+Fields Essentials Foaming Sunless Tan. It is amazing, never orange and so easy to apply. You are welcome to order online at my website:

or I would be happy to order for you.
Thank you for all that you do to teach God’s Word! God bless & Merry Christmas!

  15. Courtney,

Thanks so much for sharing your ten favorite things list.

This summer our daughters visited and I purchased two “adult” coloring books along with some Crayolas for them. They both have stressful jobs and I watched them sit and color with each other. This gave them an opportunity to relax and color! Brought back some beautiful memories of them as children.

God Bless You! And, thanks so much for all you do for us. Love You!

  16. I agree- St Tropez for the self tanner!!! Also, Christian adult coloring books, low fat egg nog from Target with a little bit of cinnamon on top. A kitty on my lap as I type this. 🙂

  20. Okay, now I don’t feel so bad for asking…..lol! What eye shadow and lipstick do you wear? I love the colors! I love Charming Charlie too…..they have some really pretty jewelry. I think I will have to get one of those gliders for my Bible too! I hope Courtney sees this! LOL

      1. Thank you Courtney! 🙂
Yes, that helped!….Thank you for responding. You are so sweet! I’m sorry that my response is late. I didn’t check it until now. It was a wonderful surprise. 🙂

  21. I didn’t know Shark made an iron! That is awesome! We just recently purchased a Shark Vacuum and it is wonderful! I absolutely LOVE it. We have 2 cats so you can imagine the cat hair. This vacuum sucks it right up and it’s so quiet. I can actually carry on conversations with people in the house without having to yell, even if they are in another room. It is also so easy to clean out. The basket is on top, so no bending over when it gets full and you need to dump it. ?
