This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8

  1. Excited for the last week. Looks like there will be some really good stuff this week. Then can’t wait for the Ecclesiastics study – almost can’t contain myself and stared reading the workbook already, but I need to finish my Deuteronomy first!

    1. I was just getting ready to write that. Bummer that I didn’t notice until it was glued in my journal. 🙁

  2. I am not financially able to purchase the book for ecclesiastics…will there enough on-line to be able to participate without making the purchase?

If not, I will just do the soak method.

    Thank you!

    1. Emilie- yes, I encourage you to do the SOAK method. The regular Monday posts will be here with all of the free resources and then on Fridays there will be a video, encouragement and accountability here for you too.

So glad you are joining us!
      Courtney 🙂

  3. Hi, I’m new here. The book of Deuteronomy is my first study with Good Morning Girls. I have really enjoyed it and I appreciate Courtney and anyone who helps for making it available! I have been trying to take studying the Word (and not just reading it) seriously for the past couple of years. I have run across many different “context is king” type of admonitions in various books, blogs, etc. But this study has brought 2 different verses to my attention that are quoted in the NT in a much broader context. Here they are:
“You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the corn.” Deut. 25:4 Paul uses this to say to say that a minister or worker in the gospel should be provided for. (1 Tim. 5:18 & 1 Cor. 9:9)
The second was in chapter 31, verse 6 today. “He will not leave you or forsake you.” Paul gives this promise in a general way about not worrying about provisions in Heb. 13:5.
**So my big question is this: why is it ok for Paul to apply a narrow verse about oxen in a much bigger way, but it’s not ok for us to apply a verse about our body being a temple of the Lord to trying to eat right and exercise, etc? (1 Cor. 3:16 is one verse I keep hearing is not to be applied in any other way than exactly what it says.)
I’m very confused about this. Can anyone help me?
    Thank you.
