Introducing the Book of James

Join Good Morning Girls as we read through the Bible cover to cover one chapter a day. Here is all the information you need to study the Book of James. #Biblestudy #James #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

I am SO excited to announce our final summer study!  The book of James is considered one of the most practical books of the New Testament. Much like the book of Proverbs in the Old Testament, it focuses on wise Christian living transformed by faith.

We begin our study in the book of James on Monday, August 1st!
We will read 1/2 chapter of James a day.
This 2-week study will run from August 1st-August 12th

This is important to NOTE!

The James journal is not like the Ecclesiastes Bible Study.  It is a JOURNAL not an in-depth Bible Study. It is short (I don’t want anyone disappointed who orders this journal) and it is identical to all of the other GMG Journals.

The James Journal is available now exclusively on Amazon!

James-Girls-SPINE

James-Guys-SPINE

We also have a Good Morning Guys James Journal
for your sons ages 10 and up.

The cost is just $6.99!

Both journals have an identical interior. My hope is that we will not only get into the Word ourselves but also get our sons and daughters into the Word as well.  Let’s disciple the next generation!

Inside the journals you will find:

*An Introduction to the Book of James
*An explanation of how to use the signature S.O.A.K. method of the GMG’s
*The GMG Coloring Chart
* The Verse of the Day each day
*A Reflection Question for each day
* Blank space for SOAKing each chapter of the Book of James

This companion Journal is NOT required to join us.

I also want to share with you about The NEW Dig for Kids: James!  This would be a perfect study to do with your kids alongside our study!

Available in Paperback and Kindle!

  1. Hey sister! I am so thankful for your faithfulness and the call on your life! I’m new to good morning girls and love it. Ecclesiastes is my first study with you. Are there any more in depth studies in the works?

    1. Hi Brooke,

Welcome, I’m so glad you are here!

We were waiting to see what the response would be to our first in-depth study. It has been overwhelmingly positive, so my mom has just begun her research to begin a second one! We should have it available sometime in the new year.

I hope you will join me for this short 2 week study in James and I have a lot of great Bible Study content being prepared for you for this fall. I’ll reveal the fall studies in just a few weeks.

      Thanks for asking,
      Courtney 🙂

      1. Dear Courtney,
So glad to hear you will be coming out with a new workbook in the future! I am really enjoying the Ecclesiastes study workbook and I believe that along with the SOAK study method it really helps me to delve into the word of God. I can’t wait! God bless you and your mom in all the hard work you do. Thank you,Betty

      2. A second in depth study?! Oh yes please! I have really enjoyed Ecclesiastes study! You and your mom did a wonderful job putting this together!

      3. This study has been awesome. Thanks to you and your Mother! I anxiously await another, and to study more in my favorite book James. God bless you.

      4. Great news. And I can’t wait to see what you have for us for the Fall. Whoo-hoo, can hardly contain myself.

Thanks again Courtney, we really do love and appreciate you. This study is really growing me.

  2. I’ve been following you for about a week on Facebook and YouTube and I’m quite happy with it all. I’m so glad I can be a part.
I look forward to Bible Study each day and I love all I am learning with you.
I find I can enjoy your study even if I don’t have everything and I still feel a part of it.
    Thanks.

  3. I just found you guys on IG. I’m glad to hear about James but I really wanted to join you for a in-depth bible study.

    1. Hi Dede,

I’ll be posting the bookmark soon in another post but for now here is the schedule:

      Day 2 – James 1:19-27
      Day 3 – James 2: 1-13
      Day 4 – James 2:14-26
      Day 5 – James 3:1-12

      Week 2
      Day 1 – James 3:13-18
      Day 2 – James 4:1-12
      Day 3 – James 4:13-17
      Day 4 – James 5:1-12
      Day 5 – James 5:13-19

      Hope this helps!
      Courtney 🙂

  4. I am very excited to study James. It is on of my favorite books!

I found a typo that you might want to know about. It is minor. In the section “Inside the journals you will find” on the very last bullet the Book of Deuteronomy is referred to instead of James ?.

  5. Yay! I love your videos, so I am excited about that. That’s how I found out about you and your first book, on Pinterest. And another in depth study would be awesome!

  6. Looking forward to James since we’ve already completed Deuteronomy! Lol

Inside the journals you will find:
*An Introduction to the Book of James
*An explanation of how to use the signature S.O.A.K. method of the GMG’s
    *The GMG Coloring Chart
    * The Verse of the Day each day
*A Reflection Question for each day
    * Blank space for SOAKing each chapter of the Book of Deuteronomy

  7. Courtney,
Just wanted to tell you I have loved this Bible study you have put together with your Mom on the book of Ecclesiastes!! Thank you for all your hard work!

  8. I’m excited about SOAKing through the book of James! I took a break on SOAKing while we’re reading through Ecclesiastes (since the journal has been an in-depth study), and I’ve really missed it! I’m heading over to Amazon to buy this journal today! 🙂

  9. I love doing Bible studies with you and I’m looking forward to this one. Amazon lists the journal as 8.99 and I was wondering if this is a mistake. You mentioned it would be 6.99. I’m hoping it goes lower since this is such a short study. I like to get the journals for convenience but this one seems a bit high for one so short. You mentioned the study would be 2 weeks. What about combining the shorter books of the Bible into one journal?

Thank you for everything! I have been so blessed by Good Morning Girls! I get so much out of the color coding, SOAK method, your blogs and encouragement. Thank you for everything you do!

    1. Hi Rachel,

The price posted above was regarding the guys journal which is $6.99. I always take a large loss on the sales of the guys journals because not many are sold and the price is so low. I still have to pay for formatting, labor and cover design charges for the guys and girls journals. I have done my best to set the price at the most affordable rate possible while still covering the cost of the ministry.

Thanks for asking – sorry if the $6.99 post for the guys journal above was confusing. I am trying to make it easy on moms to get their sons in the word. 😉

So glad you are here and studying with us.
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

      1. I appreciate your response. I didn’t realize 6.99 was for the guys journal. Thanks for clarifying!

  10. I am so glad you’re doing a study on the book of James. It’s one of my favorites. I was wondering if you could give us a hint at what Bible studies you’ll be doing in the fall. I’m looking forward to spending more time this coming fall on Bible studies. I especially want to spend time studying Proverbs 31. I try to re-read and re-study Proverbs 31 once a year. Thank you for your website. It’s very helpful and inspiring.

    1. Aimee,

Courtney has a free Proverbs 31 Ebook & Video Series. You can download that here: https://womenlivingwell.org/free-proverbs-31-ebook/

We also did a week long study of Proverbs 31 last summer I think. You can find the videos, blogs and some of the resources here.

      https://womenlivingwell.org/good-morning-girls-resources/

Just scroll down to “Resources for In-depth Study of Proverbs 31”

Hope you enjoy it. It was great. I have not done the free ebook study, but I should. It sounds interesting.

  11. Courtney, Ecclesiastes was my first study with you. I so enjoyed the study. I look forward to future in-depth studies like it!!! Thank you for the hard work that you and your mom put into that study – it really was evident!!! I look forward to the study of James.

    1. Hi Leigh,

I do not have a kindle edition available because it is a journal and paperback is the best way to go with a journal. 😉

      Love,
      Courtney

  12. LOVE LOVE LOVE the in-depth study! Thank you to you and your mom. I look forward to the James study and can not wait for the Fall! Thank you for all you do!

  13. Hi Courtney,

  15. Thank you, Courtney!!!

I am looking forward to spending the next several years with WLW & GMG until we have gone through the entire Bible, having studied every single Chapter together. I’m excited that some will be more in depth like Ecclesiastes while others are not as in depth but just as wonderful. Some day, I will have a journal for every book of the Bible!

You do know that you and your collaborators/Mom cannot stop this until you’ve done a journal for every Book of the Bible! Don’t you?

  16. Hello Courtney,
I am enjoying the in depth study of Ecclesiastes. I was wondering if the guys journal would be well suited for my husband to use or is for boys only. We wanted to use it as a tool for us to talk about with each other in the evening, instead of two completely different studies.
Thank you for your time and effort put in for the videos, blog and Facebook etc.

    1. Hi Nicole,

Yes, it would be wonderful if your husband did this along with you all! The guys journal is the same as the women’s. 😉

      Courtney

      1. You don’t have to respond back. Thank you for getting back to me. I’ll be putting the James study in my cart for the both of us!

    1. Hi Sarah,

There are no sign-ups or enrollments. Just join us here on the blog – Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays and if you have facebook or instagram – you can join us daily there as well.

      Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  17. Courtney,
I want to say thank you for doing a guys addition. One of the young ladies in our church has been doing your studies for a while and introduced some us ladies to you. We have gone through Deuteronomy and now Ecclesiastes. As we have journeyed these Bible studies we have grown ALOT! The funny thing is we have all said our men need something like this too. Looks like God has heard our cry and answered it. Keep doing what God has called you to do!
    Lea

  18. Earlier this year I as in a Facebook group where a group if like minded moms chatted about scripture for the day. Are you still doing those? I sure miss that sense of community within that group.

  19. Excited to join you for the Book of James Bible Study. It’s been a while since I have done a study with you.

  20. Hey Courtney,
Can you please give me the outline on how you’re dividing the book of James?
The old way you use to lay things out – with day and reading.
Thanks so much. I’ve been following since the beginning.
    Rosa

    1. Hi Rosa,

      Courtney ?

  21. Courtney, You and your mom should continue to write studies together. The Ecclesiastes one was amazing! I passed it onto my church women’s Bible study leadership. I hope they use it!

  22. Are you going to be doing a free printable for the James study coming up, similar to the one for ecclesiastes?

    1. Yes! I’ll be posting the resources this Monday so everyone can prepare and then every Monday after as we study the Book of James.

      Courtney 🙂

  23. I am ready for James Bible Study. Also looking forward to all of the comments. All of you lady’s feel like family to me.

  24. Just did my first study with you, loved it loved it, just received the journal for James, looking forward to it. I have grown so much in this study, Patricia

  25. Since I am in another country and am not able to have the journal shipped to me in time, will I miss out by only doing the study of James online?

    1. Replying late so you may already have discovered the answer but:
      Not at all!
I have been doing the studies online for a while and since they kindly post all the resources on a Monday I don’t feel like I am missing out!
There are fantastic thought provoking questions for each day of the study, helpful videos and wonderful insights to read too.

  26. Hi. I started with you in January 2015. I have James all marked and colored in my bible so I know it has already been done. I am sure I can learn more from it though.
