Johnathan writes:

My name is Johnathan Mizener. I’m Courtney Joseph’s nephew, and I’m so excited to be writing for the new Good Morning Guys Bible Study!

I’m 17 years old and a senior in high school at a small Christian school. I enjoy running, playing the guitar, eating ice cream, hiking with friends, anything related to cars, and just hanging out with my family.

My mom, Jen, is Courtney’s sister, and she has been married to my dad, John, for 23 years. I also have 1 sister, Julianna, who is 14 and a freshman.

At my school I play on our worship team for our weekly worship services, run cross country, and serve on the student council. I also just returned from a truly life-changing missions trip to the Dominican Republic with 25 other students from my school, and it really gave me a renewed passion for missions around the world.

At my church, I play on the worship team and help with our monthly outreach to impoverished children in the inner-city. I love serving God’s people and I love to write, so I’m so thankful for the opportunity to write for this Bible study.

I pray this Bible study helps you to grow in Christ like never before, and if you don’t know God, I pray this Bible study will help bring you into a relationship with Him. That’s the most important thing to me, and to see young men like myself know God deeply and live for Him without holding back is a huge burden on my heart.

It’s time for us as young men to stand up and stand out from the world, and to be leaders to those around us. I pray this Bible study helps you do that!

We’ll be starting in the book of Joshua September 5th.

I hope you’ll join us as we grow in Christ!
~Johnathan

I’m so thankful for Johnathan and I can’t wait to see how God works through this new on-line ministry.  Please spread the word and visit him over at GoodMorningGuys.org

  1. WOW! I wasn’t expecting your news to be anything like that. Oh Courtney, this is wonderful. Your nephew reminds me of my son and his leading Youth Groups and church activities when he was 16 , 17. The youth of our church were really drawn to him. He spent summers working at Lutheran Valley Ranch (LVR) ,in Colorado as an instructor.
This will be great. I wish there was one for teenage girls and young women.
    Exciting news.

  2. Courtney!! This is so wonderful! I’m so happy to meet your awesome nephew and I will be praying God’s blessings on this new and much needed endeavour and for him. God is moving! I remember all those requests for something for the guys. Praise the Lord and may Good Morning Guys prosper to His glory!

    Love
    Lisa

  3. Yay! So excited! Jonathan, I pray God blesses your ministry. I was praying for something like this for my boys (12 and 10). I’ve been so blessed by Good Morning Girls over the years and I’m excited to see how God is going to use the Good Morning Guys ministry.

    Blessings!

  4. Wow your nephew is an impressive young man! Your sister and her husband did a great job of raising him. My son and I got a bit behind with James (which was out first study together) but are almost finished. He would like to study Joshua with me. I’m excited about that and adding Good Morning Guys to the websites we allow him to go to.

  5. Courtney – I have a quick question. Is the Good Morning Guys appropriate for our husbands? Or more geared towards young men? Will the journal be appropriate for my husband? I am thinking if he doesn’t “fit” (or maybe want to join) in the online group he could at least use the journal to study with me.

  6. Hey Courtney, what a wonderful nephew you have!

I would also like to ask you for the dates and chapters for the book of Joshua. I can’t seem to find it.
    Thanks,
    Rosa

  7. CHILLS! What a fantastic idea considering so many have asked over the years! And to have a nephew join?! What a great idea! I’ll be praying for your ministry and for unity as this moves forward! How wonderful!

  8. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’ve been looking for a way to bring my 11yr into the word and here’s my chance! Your nephew seems like a wonderful role model for my little one! I prayed for help with bringing him closer to God and he answered through you!

I’m currently going through a divorce and my situation has brought me so much closer to God. thank you for all you do, you are truly my inspiration 🙂

  10. Wow this is great news. I did not occur to me that my daughter could do good morning girls . I find the questions a bit more adultly but maybe I will just make her read along . Thank you for doing this .

  11. I love, love, love seeing young people stand up and take leadership roles! He is 17 and writing and mentoring others? Fantastic! I’m 40 and can’t say the same…

  12. A study for young men–that is awesome! Looking forward to sharing with my son who is serving our military overseas. Thank you and your nephew for branching out to begin this–so needed for our guys to have this support as well.
