Here is this week’s Bible Reading Plan:

Here are this week’s Personal Reflection Questions

Day 1

What is something you have created that you love? How does understanding your affection for what you have created help you understand God’s affection for you and bring you rest?

Day 2
How does knowing that you always have a loving guide in your life bring you rest?

Day 3

In John 15, Jesus calls you His friend. How does knowing that you always have a friend with you, bring you rest?

Day 4

How does knowing that you are a child of God comfort you and bring you rest?

Day 5

Is there any reason, after looking this week at how much God loves you and pursues you that you cannot rest in God? Whatever concerns you still have, take them to Jesus in prayer. Ask Him to remove the lies the enemy is telling you and give you rest.

This Week’s Challenge: Receive God’s Love

We all long to connect with others and to be seen and loved.

God is relational like us.

God wants to connect with us and be seen and loved.

God wants to be seen in all his beauty and majesty through his creation. The vast blue sky, the birds that chirp outside our windows, the meadow filled with flowers and the roaring ocean – all speak His name.

1 John 4:19 tells us, “we love because He first loved us.”

God first loved you and He gave His son to die on the cross for your sins so you could have a relationship with Him. He sees you and he longs to connect with you in a deep and intimate way. Let’s take time this week to bask in God’s love for us. It is in knowing and receiving his love, that we are able to rest and release our burdens to him.

Week 2 Challenge

Go pick a bouquet of flowers from your garden or a nearby field or buy yourself a small bouquet. Each time you see the flowers, be reminded of God’s love for you.

I will be purchasing a small bouquet from my grocery store and placing it in a vase, in my kitchen.

{Share your pictures of your flowers on Instagram by using the hashtags: #RestAndRelease #WomenLivingWell and #GoodMorningGirls}

The Verses of the Day:

I encourage you to choose which verse you’d like to memorize or meditate on.  The printable below includes all 5 verses of the day — for the entire week!  Print and cut them out and put them in the bathroom, kitchen, beside your bed and computer and use them for meditation throughout the week.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8

  1. Great to have you back sis! I love to see how God keep using your life to bless us. During 2014 my husband cheated on me for almost the whole year, he was the Pastor of the church, so you can imagien how life changed for our family. Long story short, we all (we have two kids: 15 year-old boy and 10 year-old girl) forgave him and every Saturday we enjoy having the 2 year-old girl (result of his adultery) with us. Thing is that even though I forgave my hubby and the lady, I was still carrying an emotional burden that got heavier on Saturdays. But after the first week of Rest & Release, I can confidently say that I am finally released from that burden, praise the Lord for that!!! Thanks a lot Courtney and… keep walking with the King 🙂

    1. What a beautiful story of forgiveness and unconditional love and restoration. Thank you for sharing your story Ines!

I am saying a prayer for you and your family now. May your soul find complete rest in Jesus.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  2. Newbie here! I am so thankful I discovered this bible study! Courtney is wonderful!! I just cannot seem to get enough! I am on here every spare minute for the last 3 weeks, but I do have a question, a simple question…. Keep in mind that I am new…. I am wanting to use the bible coloring chart, what color would be used for yesterdays’ scripture Psalm 139:13-18?

  3. Hey Courtney!
I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but Christy Nockels just released an album called “Be Held: lullabies for the beloved” and it fits so perfectly with this Rest and Release study!! God has really outdone Himself in bringing both of these reminders of rest into this season of my life! I just wanted to let you know because you should DEFINITELY check it out!
Thank you so much for your obedience in writing this study! It was truly God-given.

  4. Week 2 of this Bible Study was amazing! I’ve known all my life that God is a personal God, but this week’s reading just helped drive that point home even more!
