BUT 2 summers ago, my sister Kristen taught me this really neat way to cut up a watermelon quite easily! I shared it with a few of my friends this week and when I saw the amazement in their eyes – I thought what a typical blogger thinks – I better blog about this! lol!

  1. I eat about a half a watermelon a day. Mmm. But they're little here, so not as intimidating to cut. I just learned how to cut a mango…what an added insight that was! I am sure many will benefit from this little tip you shared. Thanks Courtney!

  2. Nice tip! I like my way better, I just let the husband do it!! Haha! He does the watermelons and I do the cantaloupes. We eat a ton of both in the summer! I'll let him know your tip though.

  3. Oh my – that watermelon looks good! I've never really had a plan when I cut a watermelon – I just start hacking. This looks so much more professional! I'll give it a try!

  4. I am so glad that you posted this! I just printed it out and I will be hanging it on my fridge! I bought a watermelon Sunday and I destroyed it trying to cut it up!!! Thanks!

  5. I just found your blog yesterday, and last night I thought, "I need to look online and see how you cut a watermelon." How funny! Thanks a bunch!

  6. I was once on the watermelon cutting team at our church's summer outreach, and I learned that you do NOT wear white when you cut lots of watermelon. 🙂

    Love this approach!

  7. What could be easier – thanks for showing us this neat trick!

  8. I’m 4months pregnant 😀 … and craving watermelon almost everyday… good thing summer is here! Thanks for the help Courtney! My poor husband has done everything he can to serve me when needbe, (I’m a little more clumsy nowadays) and I feel awful when I see him cutting a huge watermelon for us lol. He’s done a great job at everything, but I can handle this and it will make both our lives easier 🙂

  9. Try this next time. Cut it in half, then place the cut part down on a board. From this point yo cut the rind from top to bottom leaving u with only the flesh to cut as you please.
