I just made this dessert for the 4th of July. It was a hit! It is so cute and so tasty you have to try it!
Dirt Cake Ingredients: (serves 12-15)
2 sixteen ounce packages Oreo Cookies
6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
3 tablespoons butter, room temperature
2 packages (3.9ounces) of instant chocolate pudding
2 1/2 cups milk
1 16oz carton frozen whipped topping thawed
15 gummy worms
1. Chop Oreo cookies very fine in a food processor – set aside.
2. Combine cream cheese, butter and stir until creamy – set aside.
4. In a flowerpot alternate layers of cookie “dirt” and pudding mixture, starting and ending with the cookie “dirt”. In each layer of dirt add a couple gummy worms.
Oh, yum! This sounds fabulous!! 😀
Yum! Brings back memories when my mom would do this. 🙂
This always looks so good! In a funny way, of course! 🙂 I love oreos and cream cheese!
Thanks! Check out my dessert! You won't be disappointed!
I have never seen it made like that, but it is yummy!
Yummy!!! On the 4th of July..I made the Duggars Layered Ice cream cake. It was my son's first birthday…so I had to try it out ;).
Will have to make a dirt cake sometime. Looks yummy and fun for the kids to participate in!
I love dirt cake! I was just thinking of making some for my kids the other day!
Hi Courtney,
I used to love this cake and had forgotten about it. My girls, even though they are now 15 and 13…will be crazy about it too so thank you for posting the recipe! We kind of need a treat to dig into…I was just told 5 days ago I have MS so we are staying close, staying strong, praying…and finding little ways to make us smile…and your cake will do that!
Blessings,
Suzanne
Thanks, Courtney! I'm going to save this for when we do "G" week with my preschooler! 🙂 (for garden) 😉
I’ve never done this, seen others do it through the years….my 16 has missed out, but now that we have a 2 year old also…I think it’s time to get dirty and make this one 🙂 Thanks!!
I make a very similar dessert in a trifle dish, but I use vanilla pudding, 3 1/2 cups milk and only one package of oreos. It has white and black layers, very cool.
My word! I’ve never seen such a think before. How unique.
“Thing,” not “Think.” My eyes are at a point where I need my glasses, the regular ones, to see far away and another pair to see up close. Right now I’m refusing to get the ones for up close or a dual.
Fantastic and easy way
Made this today for my son’s birthday. Was so good!
