Does it answer the question of why God created women to not really need it but men do? Or why since I don't get out of it what he gets out of it, that fact leaves my husband less satisfied and more times than not our "encounters" end in frustration and awkwardness?? I genuinely find it unfair that it is harder for women than it is for men. I enjoy being close to my husband but the act is just never enjoyable for me. I don't think a book is going to solve these kind of problems that I think probably most women would admit to if they were honest. A positive attitude is not going to change a physical feeling (or lack thereof). I wish God had made us with more similar drives. I find it hard to not feel unfair about this.

Hi Courtney! It is a great book. I used it as a resource for my "Good Girl's Guide to Sex" coming out with Zondervan!
I think we women underestimate how important sex is for a guy. We need to feel loved to make love. They need to make love to feel loved. We each need to meet the other's main need before we get our needs met! It can be tricky.
That's why I've always said that Sex for women is all in her head. We need our heads to be engaged for our bodies to follow, and we need to DECIDE we want to make love. But it's not always easy when we're tired….

I have talked about this book with my girlfriends since you've recommended it, but never got around to buying it… partially because I didn't want to admit that it should be something I might read.
Before we were married, I never thought that intimacy would be something that we would struggle with. Like many engaged couples, we couldn't WAIT to be married, enjoy the honeymoon and learn each other. Almost 2 years later and I know now that this is a book I should have. Courtney every time DH & I are having an issue in the intimacy department I come to your blog and on that day I find a post with the video about the importance of intimacy in a marriage. This is the third time that this has happened now and the funny thing is that after him and I have an unpleasant discussion about intimacy etc.. I know that if I look on your blog I will find that you have re-posted the video. God speaks to me often through your blog and has definitely done it once again. I replied to your video post once about how I was doing so much better in this area and in saying YES every time but after speaking to a friend something changed and I have not been doing as well, you told me that what she said to me was a lie and to get this book but I have not had a chance. Maybe here is the chance to get it since I can definitely use it and it often comes to my mind that I should really get it. Hi Courtney, I am actually new to reading blogs. Actually your blog is the only one I read at the moment. I am trying to read through all of your blogs from the past few years. I'm half way there. Anyway I saw your video talking about the Intimate Issues book and went the next day to the book store to buy it, but they didn't have it in stock so I ordered it off EBay. I was so anxious to receive it, looking everyday in the mail for it. A week or two later I received a email from the seller from eBay saying she was sorry but they didn't have that book anymore. Ugh! Excellent points and how important this is to a healthy and loving (not to mention Biblical) marriage. Just a caution with the book: many verses are taken out of context, so just be discerning when reading.
This sounds like it would be a great book for my marriage!

I have had a personal problem since I was born,with the help of the Doctor that delivered me my late parents were able to keep this a secret from people.I have a body defect that has been with me since birth.I am what you call a hermaphrodite,meaning that I have both male and female sexual organs on my body,however from the physiological,hormonal and anatomical test carried on me at puberty,the doctor was able to determine that I am basically a female,because I have a womb,I have breasts and I mensuration like every other female.The only problem is that I have a small penis.My dear this is my personal problem which I want to share with you.
My parents were able to keep this a secret and only few people knows about my birth defect,when I lost my parents some few years back.There was a lot of stigma about my condition since I will not play and swim or remove my clothes any how like every other little girl.I continued to be stigmatized for a long period.Because of this I made up my mind to go very far from the place of my birth.I left my country Angola which is in the East of Africa and traveled far to Senegal which is in the West of Africa.I am here under the help of and Evangelist and his wife who has been taking care of me.In this country nobody knows about my condition as I have also managed to keep it a secret
However few months ago with the help of the Evangelist I was able to get into contact with a Surgeon from Thailand,the Surgeon is Thailand Malay,he is an expert in cases like this because they have a lot of cases like mine in his country.The Surgeon has visited here,he examined me and conducted series of test on me.The Surgeon told me that he could perform a surgery on me to remove the penis.However my problem now is I do not have the money to finance the Surgery,the cost of the Surgery is $23,000,while the Flight Ticket,hotel accommodation of the Surgeon will cost $4,800
I am sharing this with you to see if there is any means you could help me in my present predicament,I have no one to help me and that is why I am reaching out to you,I hope you will find it in your heart to help me
