This delicious recipe comes from my Grandma (or “Nana B” as we call her)…I have wonderful memories coming home from college to this delicious home cooked meal. It has become one of my husband’s favorites too. I like serving it along side of mashed potatoes …. the cream of chicken soup serves as a delicious gravy. Enjoy this simple yet delicious meal!

Crescent rolls, chopped and cooked chicken (I simply boil chicken breasts and cut), cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup (milk).
Make soup in a medium saucepan using milk according to directions.
Lay out one crescent roll at a time and place appx 3-4 bite sized pieces of chicken and appx 1Tbsp of cheese in the center of each triangle.
Gently roll up
Seal edges by pinching the dough. (You will not get perfection, just make sure the filling cannot leak out)
Place all of your rolls in a 9×13 dish and pour soup mixture over top ( salt and pepper as desired).

  1. This is going to be one of the first things I try in about 7 months. I have to low carb it through my pregnancy. This looks like a dish that would definitely be a winner. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Too funny! This is what I’m cooking for dinner. I love this recipe. I’ve been making it for the past couple of years!!!

  3. I have made this a few times, and it in now a family favorite!!! I serve it with mashed potatoes and Janelle’s green beens(which I cant’ get enough of!!!) Thank you for all the yummy recipes!

  4. Thanks so much for this recipe. I read this post this morning early and couldn’t get this recipe off my mind, so I had to make it for dinner this evening. I have 6 kiddos 12 and under…wasn’t sure if they would like it or not but they did. It was a big hit for everyone in our family!!! Have a blessed weekend, and thank you again.

  5. That just looks like down home good cookin’! 🙂 I had no idea what to make for us to eat today and was able to get this started with just basic stuff on hand. I didn’t have cresent rolls or cream of chicken soup but found great recipes for both online, so I didn’t even have to go to the store! 🙂 Thanks so much for the recipe!

  6. I made this tonight, and the whole family loved it! I used cream of mushroom soup instead because I didn’t have cream of chicken, and it was still great. Thanks for sharing.

  7. please please please answer this quickly as I am making this tonight! Silly question Here! You said you boiled the chicken? How long? I have never boiled chicken before so I am CLUELESS! LOL!

  8. I often make this and add chopped frozen spinach with the cheese and chicken to round out the meal and we usually have it over whole grain rice. It’s a favorite!

  9. I found this recipe on Pinterest and made it for dinner tonight–it was a big hit! (even with my picky two year old!!) I made a couple changes–one is that I added crumbled turkey bacon to the chicken/cheese mix and, unintentionally, I bought Cream of Chicken “with Herbs” soup, so I used it anyway and it turned out great! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  10. Thank you for this yummy recipe!!!! I will be trying this out for supper tonight. I have a 8yr old who will try anything when he feels good (not feeling to great right now) and a very picky 6 yr old!!!! Guess he kinda gets that from me!!! lol But I think this is something everybody will Love!!!

  11. It’s in the oven as I type this!!! Smells YUMMY!!!! I used frozen chicken tenderloins and baked them. Hope it works out the same.

  12. Oh me oh my…I love this recipe! Over time I have adapted many versions. My fave has to be adding caramelized onions and peppers with the diced chicken. I take some of the “soup mix” (about 2 heaping spoons) and mix chicken, onions, peppers, shredded cheeses (italian blend) and about 4 ounces cream cheese all til blended. I put a little swiss cheese on bottom of crescent then chick. mixture and seal all edges. Pour soup over and add shredded parmesan and bake. When it is almost done, I sprinkle crumbled bacon on top. This one will have you wanting more and more!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe ~ it is an all time fave for my family!

  13. Posted on It has always been my bleeif that good writing like this takes research and talent. It’s very apparent you have done your homework. Great job!

  14. I made the credential chicken and my kids said it tasted sweet. So I tried and there was a hint of sweetness….what did I do wrong.??? This recipe was so simple and I still managed to screw it up…I should just stay out of the kitchen

  15. Hi, thanks for the recipe-it was delicious!!! It was a hit and will definitely be making it again. However, definitely not enough sauce, next time I would double or even triple the sauce. I’m wondering if you make extra sauce to serve with it, especially as you serve with mashies as we did. Thank you!

  16. Ok, so I had to use 2 cans of crescent rolls to use all 2 cups of meat! I tried making them fuller but then it was hard to roll them and cover them all the way. I didn’t double the sauce though so it got almost all absorbed. I will definitely make this again though. I added some garlic powder, and thyme to the soup. Sprinkled garlic powder over the chicken while it cooked.
