Free Advent Devotionals

I am so excited to share with you this free resource titled Reasons for the Season!  It is 24 Ready-Made Family Devotions that will put the focus back on Christ and Christmas. Starting December 1st there is a verse, discussion starter, short lesson, activity, prayer and then an optional extra activity that you can do with your children!  Fun! :)!

Kathy from www.toddlerbitesblog.wordpress.com has created this ebook.  She sent it to me and I have permission to share it with all of you.  I think it’s a huge blessing!  I have it all printed out and I’m excited to do the activities with my children.

Simply click on the image above and the ebook will open!

Thank you Kathy for a great resource!

I also wanted to include one other resource for family devotionals:

John Piper’s website, Desiring God, recommends this ebook – Good News of Great Joy by John Piper.

For many women, the demands of Christmas will be heavy over the next month.

I pray that you will create moments of solitude – alone with Jesus – to recharge your batteries.

I also pray that you will nuzzle your children in closely each night for a time of worship.

Often times we think it’s the shiny ribbons, bows and twinkling lights that the children will cherish when they are grown…but truly it’s those intimate moments of family time together.

Christmas independent of God is empty.

Walk with the King,

Courtney

  1. Thanks for the advent links 😉 🙂 I want to do something like this with my dad this year 🙂 Have a lovely week. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California (formerly Oregon), Heather 🙂

  2. I would love to win a ticket to the conference! I’m struggling with balancing teens and little kids and knowing how to win their hearts for the Lord.

  3. Thank you for sharing bc it is all about HIM during Christmas–not about the gifts, the decorations! Trying to instill the meaning of CHristmas into my kids.

  4. Thank you so much for the resources. I am attempting to write a blog a day during Advent in my journey to find the joy of Christmas once again. (No, I don’t have a horrible life…I’m just like so many that find that Christmas has become a time filled with lots of stress and expectations and joy has somehow gotten buried under the pile!) For anyone interested in joining me on my journey back to Christmas, they can find my blog at http://www.anotherbattlewon.blogspot.com.
May I also recommend this website – I am truly LOVING my daily Advent devotional from here: http://www.adventdevotions.net/

  5. Kisses and hugs to you Courtney!!! With only a couple of days left til December 1st, I have been eyeing beautiful DIY advent calenders on Pinterest and stressing about what activities or devotions to do them with. I thought about contacting some Christian women’s blogs for ideas, and I almost opted not to do one this year, but here you are with a solution! I’m adding some of my own Christmas activities to them. Thank you!!!

  6. You have no idea just how much I appreciate this! I have been searching for something like this for almost a month. Everything I’ve found, I needed to pay for. And it isn’t that I’m unwilling to spend money, I’ve been told to not spend on anything extra this season. And it’s been really hard to find help with the devotionals and such. I am finding this to be such a blessing. I’m a “young” Christian and I’m wanting to rear my son faithfully and it seems like this is something I should have known already. I have been praying for help in this and you’ve answered my prayers. Thank you. Bless you. 🙂

  7. Thank you so much for sharing this. My husband just recently (11/20) committed his life to Jesus and this is a perfect way to for us to start doing some devotionals together/as a family.

    Truly, thank you.

  8. Thank you so much for sharing this! I was looking yesterday for new options and I want to share with the Ladies of our Bible study tonight. God Bless you as you are a blessing to so many~

  9. Thank you. I am making an advent calendar for my grandchildren. I was looking for resources to write my own Advent devotionals, but why reinvent the wheel?
I will recommend this site to my friends who are also making the calendar.
