Giveaway – 5 Copies of The Dig for Kids & WLWW Link-Up Party

The Dig for Kids Bible Study

I had the opportunity to read an advance copy of “The Dig” and endorse it!   Here’s my endorsement:

“The Dig for Kids is so imaginative and fun! Patrick Schwenk makes it easy to explain God’s word to your children through creative questions and hands on activities. This is definitely a treasure. There is nothing greater than discovering God’s truth together!”

And I mean it :)!

Let me explain a bit further…on my right is my friend Ruth – the creator of “The Better Mom” (whose site I contribute at monthly and love) and on my left is Joy from GraceFullMama (who is a missionary in Indonesia where she homeschools her 5 kids!) – these two girlies were roommates in college at Moody Bible (where I attended) and they married Moody Bible guys.  Ruth homeschools her 4 children and is a pastor’s wife here in Ohio.  Now stick with me just a bit further – it is Ruth’s husband – Pat –  who is the author of The Dig for Kids

So…now that we have that cleared up 🙂 Here’s what you will find inside of this Ebook that focuses on the Gospel of Luke!

A typical Dig lesson consists of the following four components:

1. The Map: The Map tells you and your child where you’ll be going in each lesson. It is a short summary of the study ahead.

2. The Dig: The Dig is the main passage you will be studying. Following each passage will be several questions designed to help conversation and understanding. They are meant to be a guide. You can use them or tweak them to help you talk with your children.

3. The Treasure: The Treasure is the big idea of each lesson. In a short statement, it is what you want your child to remember from the passage you studied.

4. The Display: When an archaeologist finds a treasure, they will clean it up and put it on display for everyone to see. This is the basic idea of the Display. It is the application of the Treasure you have found!

  8. I have not been as active as I should be, or rather could be, in putting God in our children’s lives. We read a daily scripture and discuss it right before bedtime. I really would like to do more. I believe this would help me to show my son what God is all about in a more interesting way, to really touch his heart spiritually. Thank you for the opportunity to win this book!

  9. I would love to win this for our 3 children to enjoy. I think it would really help make the Bible come alive for them in a way they can understand and relate to.

  21. I am always trying to find new ways to have my 3 kids know that God is real. I do a daily devotion with them, but sometimes never know if they are listening or if its sinking in. For my boys, this book looks exciting! They love treasure hunts and to be able to apply the bible to it, this couldn’t be more perfect. I’ve learned that hands on and application is crucial! thanks for the opportunity to win this book!

  22. I love this concept of hunting/finding treasure! I have always used the hook/look/took concept, but really think the kids will like the idea of referring to the Map, Dig, and our take-along Treasure! I can see using various object lessons and craft ideas, as well as a treasure chest for home for the take-alongs… Thanks for being used of God for such a time as this for another generation of believers!

Thanks for all your good recommendations, Courtney! You are an inspiration to us all!
