This is a REALLY Busy Week!

This week is SOOO full for me, so I’m not sure how much blogging is going to happen.

First – we had to have a bloggy meet-up Saturday night at my house.  Janelle from Comfy in the Kitchen and Clare from Peak 313 stopped by!

Then, I got my edits back from Thomas Nelson last week and they are due back this week.  There are not too many changes…but I do have one chapter I have to completely re-write because it was almost entirely struck out.  It’s the chapter about my mom!  That surprised me because I was thinking that was a chapter you all might enjoy…but I think it’s my style of writing that was the problem.  I went into autobiographical mode – so I’m gonna try to go with less stories and come at it from a different angle, while still sharing all that I’ve learned from her.  So that is due back this week to the editors.

Then… the biggest part of my coming week will be on Wednesday morning when I leave for 5 days for a blogging conference called Allume (formly named Relevant).  I am SO excited to get there and see all of my blogging friends. It is always an amazing ride there…actually it was last year at this conference when I met my agent to discuss the Reality Show I was considering doing. What was I thinking? lol! Anyhow…I came home planning to write a book instead of doing a show – good plan right? 🙂

I expect this conference to be a little more low key for me.  This is my first conference to attend in years – that I don’t have to speak.  It’s a bit of a relief to get to go and simply get filled up.  I am going to be the Emcee during Saturday’s lunch for a Marriage Discussion with some awesome bloggers and that’s it.  I am thankful for the minor role.

Have a great week!  I will be posting a re-post tomorrow from last year’s conference and what I learned and the link-up will be up on Wednesday.

I can’t wait to share my pictures from the conference with you later this week!

It sounds like you had a fun week connecting with friends. I always love how you share from your heart. I’ll be praying for your busy week and that the Lord gives you His words to speak for the chapter you have to re-write. Have a wonderful time at Allume!

    Blessings~
    Shari

  2. I was a bit disappointed that you weren’t going to be speaking (because I thought you might not be there at all). I’m glad you’ll be there and I hope you can enjoy the time of being fed! I pray the Lord blesses you during the conference 🙂

And, I love the photos! Great candid shot, and lovely pictures of friendship and fellowship.

    1. See you VERY soon – wooohoo!!! Please come up to me and introduce yourself if you see me because I have learned from past years that it’s really hard to recognize each other from our small square avatars lol!

      Love,
      Courtney

      1. So true about the avatars! Plus, I recently donated my hair to LOL, so it’s much shorter now. PS-I feel you (kinda) on the edits! Mine aren’t quite as glamorous as a book deal, but I’m working on my masters degree and my MSP (thesis-type paper) is due THIS friday (which means that I have to finish it by Tuesday)… back in mid September my main mentor said “this is quite good.” and that was it….no constructive criticism, so I thought I was good to go until all of a sudden yesterday I get messages from my other committee members that I need to completely rework the organization and overhaul the entire thing…by Tuesday! I was so stressed that I was physically feeling it!

I can’t imagine having to do the same thing on a whole chapter of a book w/ a publisher. Prayers for guidance as you work on revisions there!

And, my plan is to give you big bloggers a break! You deserve some “off” time and I hope you’re able to get that.

  3. You CANNOT imagine how much I wish I were there with you girls! How I adore you all!!!!!!!! SEE YOU SOOOOONNNNNNN!!!! {insert slightly-out-of-control girly screaming}. You had better hug Janelle for me, m’kay??

  4. Good Luck on your crazy, busy week. May the Lord give you peace that he is in control every concern and obligation, and may He fill you with peace and joy to carry you through this fast paced week.

  5. Angela has such a servant’s heart (as all of you do!). What a fun weekend for you. You gals look like sisters and I know you are sisters in Christ. So fun!!

  6. Courtney,
Just came over to say hi! Just finished listening to your blogging cd from She Speaks on Friday. Sad I didn’t get to meet you in person this past summer. What a wonderful ministry God has blessed you with! Maybe we will meet in person at another She Speaks someday!
    Blessings,
    Bridget

  7. I love the expressions on these ladies faces – precious!

I hope you have a fantastic time at Allume Courtney, I wish I could come!! Praying that you find strength and the words needed to complete your book too.
    Bless you ladies

  8. What a precious post! I can tell the gift was sincerely appreciated by a surprised Janelle, love it!!! Wonderful you girls can meet up like that. The conference you’re doing sounds fun, but the book you’re writing sounds amazing! Can’t wait to read it, and I know God will bless you and others through it. I must be challenging to write an entire book…at least it would be for me!
    Blessings,
    Leslie

  9. Are you going to be meeting up with anyone while you are at the conference? I just started reading your blog and watched all the Proverbs 31 videos. Its funny cause last week, I had a bad week, and as I was going through the Proverbs 31 videos I thought to myself, if only Courtney lived nearby. I’m sure I’d gain so much from just 10 minutes with her!

Anyway, I live about 40min from Harrisburg and would love to meet you!

  10. What a great post representing how awesome our “sister” relationship can be when we reflect Christ. I love that!
I was hoping you were going to Allume this year. Your ministry inspires me so much. See you there!

  11. Ugh, tears in my eyes as I think about the love and serving going on in these pics… the bonds that we have as sisters in Christ is such an incredible comfort! Praying, praying for you guys this week!

  12. Fab photos girls!

Courtney, you are all so blessed. There are few Christian women where I live and even fewer conferences. We were blessed to have Canton Junction visit our town a month or so ago, and Matthew Hagee spoke at church on the Sunday, but that was very much a one-off!

We would need revival to have what you girls share. Cherish these special times. Thank you so much for sharing what for some of us would consider to be a little bit of heaven.

  13. I couldnt help but get excited when you said here in Ohio……do you live in Ohio? I live in Granville, Oh about 25 miles east of Columbus:)

  14. Thank you for sharing such a sweet sister moment! It does the heart good to see you all together. I pray God will give you the strength and wisdom to get through such a busy time and I hope that the conference is enjoyable and all that God wants it to be for you and the others. Cant wait for you to share.
