My Girls Night Out with Candace Cameron Bure

I apologize that my comment system is not working right. I am in the process of having it fixed. It appears comments are either going to a spam folder or disappearing all together. I apologize 🙁

Courtney and Candace2

Last week Candace Cameron Bure (aka – DJ Tanner from Full House) came to my hometown in Ohio to stay at my “real life” friend’s house – Clare from Peak313.com.

I’m sure Clare will have lots of fun pictures on her blog soon from their weekend together.

Anyhow, on Friday evening Ruth from TheBetterMom.com drove in from out of town and Janelle from Comfy in the Kitchen (who is also a “real life” hometown friend), came over and we had a Girls Night Out!

One of the reasons I am drawn to Candace is because of how faith and family oriented she is.  I just love her genuine heart and solid beliefs.

So here’s how our evening went.  First we had dinner.

Then we had dessert.

Miss Fitness aka Peak313 loves to eat off everyone else’s plates – here she’s caught in the act!

Then we had a group photo taken.

Then we went for a walk away from the crowds and sat down together and visited for an hour… and took more pictures.

People recognized Candace as DJ Tanner but did not overly imposed.  Candace politely paused for a photo with strangers and then went back to chatting with us.

Being the crazy bloggers that we are – we were all instagramming on the spot!  Janelle and I snuck into a selfie of Clare and Ruth – and the funniest part – Candace picked up my phone and took a photo of us!!!  🙂

Then we went back to Clare’s house where Clare swiftly changed into her pajamas and we all got comfy on the couch talking.  Over the course of our long evening together, we covered every topic under the sun.  Hanging with Candace was like hanging out with an old friend.  Her “girl next door” personality and humble transparency makes her easy to love.  She is clearly a woman who has God at the center of her life.

Faithful readers, will you please be lifting Candace up in your prayers?  She lives and works in a challenging and unique culture.  I am so grateful for the place God has planted her and for her courage to be honest about her faith.   Please pray that God opens doors for her, protects her family and gives her strength as she balances her family, work and ministry.  And when you see new projects she is working on, please support her —facebook, tweet and share it with your friends. To God be the glory!

  1. How cool!! Maybe next year you can get her to speak at the WLW conference??? I’ve been a fan of hers and her brother’s LONG before they announced they were Christians!! So pleased to see how they’ve maintained their ‘walk with the King” and haven’t let celebrity get to them!!!

Today, I’m mourning the loss of a beloved actor, Cory Monteith from Glee. So sad that such a young life was taken so soon. He was very talented. I”m praying for his family as well as his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele. She must be absolutely devastated right now. So very sad.

  2. This is fabulous! I love Candace and I love each of the rest of you ladies too … how fun that you all got to hang together! =)
