(if you are seeing this post in an email – click here and come watch this video)

Love gets messy.

Financial problems, sickness, aging parents, a chronically unhappy spouse . . . trials will inevitably come that threaten your marriage. No matter how long you’ve been married or how strong your relationship is, sooner or later you are going to have a mess to clean up.

Messy Beautiful Love is about cleaning up messes God’s way, exchanging your ideas for His, and being prepared for both the best and the worst that marriage has to offer.

Messy Beautiful Love is an invitation to obedience. The cynical world says marriages don’t last, but God knows better. Tune out the world and tune in to Him. When you do that, a beautiful marriage is not only possible, it’s inevitable.

  1. I did a review on this book just before it came out and love it! Darlene’s style of writing made me both laugh and weep – somehow what she said and how she said it lifted the blinders from my eyes to see how my actions and reactions were so disrespectful to my husband…even though before I was convinced I was a very good wife. Honestly, since reading that book, our marriage has improved so much. There is a much greater sense of peace and harmony….and unity in our marriage – like never before. I look forward to this book study – because I have a feeling I will be learning even more the 2nd time around.

  2. YAY YAY YAY!! I’m busy reading Messy Beautiful Love at the moment, and I’ve been hoping that someone would do a book club on it!! Thank you 🙂 And thank you for the free study guide – what a blessing <3

  3. Just ordered my book 🙂 Cannot wait 🙂 Thank you so much for all you in encouraging women in all areas of their life’s 🙂

  4. I have been thinking about buying this book, but kept putting it off. I kept thinking how I wouldn’t have time to read it with everything else I want to read. I get Darlene’s emails and her book does look like a good book that I would want to read, but I would think about previous books that I bought from other authors and I had a hard time reading the material and understanding what the author is talking about. I was so glad to read your email today about the book club for “Messy, Beautiful Love.” I feel that by doing a book club, I will get a better understanding of the material. I am so excited to be a part of the book club. I just ordered my book. Wow! The price was great! Thank you for this book club! 😀

    1. Darrelyn, I’ve always struggled with reading. I have a difficult time understanding what I read. I think that’s why I write in such a simplified way. A lot of readers have mentioned how easy it was to read. I hope you’ll find that too!

  5. That’s amazing!
I just bought Darlene’s book, and have already started the first 2 chapters. I didn’t know we’d be reading through together, so in that case I’ll hold off until The Book Club commences.

My husband read Darlene’s book before me and has been really blessed by it!
    Thank you so much!

  6. HI Courtney,
Thanks for all you do. I am in a spiritually unequal marriage. Is Darlene’s book about marriage also for me since I am the one who desires a Christ centered life/marriage?

  7. When I try to click on the link to download the study guide for Messy Beautiful Love, I get a message saying my security system won’t allow me to download. Is there another way I could get the study guide? I already bought my book and was really looking forward to being able to participate in this.

  8. I’m joining this one! My friend has been reading it and she keeps telling me about it. I really need to do this study right now! Thanks for offering this. I just bought my book today and it will be here by November 3. Very excited.

  9. Hi,
I have been looking for a Christian Book Club group, so I got super excited when I saw this. I am a single, 24 year old and I wanted to know if this book would really be beneficial to me since I am not married or have children?

    Thanks for your response!

  10. OK, so we are “meeting” here on November 3rd. Should we have already read chapters 1 & 2 by that date for the discussion? And is it really a discussion or is it a blog post that we read to go along with the book? Just trying to prepare, thanks for the opportunity! 🙂
