Here are this week’s Group Discussion Questions

{A special thank you to my leadership team who created these for us!  If you do not have a group use these for a personal reflection time}:

Exodus 1[3]      Exodus 2

Exodus 3

Exodus 4

Exodus 5

And finally – it’s Monday – so we are launching the Monday Mediation and Memorization plan for Exodus!

I prefer to memorize large chunks of scripture over hopping around from verse to verse.  This Psalm I chose is a reflection on the happenings of Exodus.

We want to remember the wonders of our Mighty God and what He has done in the past.  We serve this same God!  The passage says, “I will meditate on your mighty deeds.”  That is exactly what we will do.

Please print the entire passage or just the verses for this week and put a copy by your computer, in your kitchen, in your bathroom, your purse, your pocket, in your car, beside your bed or anywhere else you spend time.  Meditate and SOAK in the word of God day and night!

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8

Here is the complete passage we will be memorizing during our 8 weeks in Exodus:

Here is this week’s memory Verse

Memory Work Psalm 77 - 11,12

Print just 1 copy (pictured above) or print 6 copies (pictured below)
of the same verse so you can put it in different places for review.Memory Verse Printable

  1. After being a GMG on my own for 2 years, I’m so excited to be participating in a group for the very first time. Ready to get started!

  2. Courtney, I love the Bible passage you chose for us to memorize! I love hiding God’s word in my heart! Thanks for the beautiful printable…I will definitely be posting these around my house. What’s even better is that my husband and son will see these too and hopefully memorize it along with me. 🙂

  3. First time GMG follower, was introduced by a friend and avid bible studier! Looking forward to the study however still trying to accumulate all the highlighting materials ;)! Love to identity key points and underline or box them out in my bible so this should be a lot of fun!

  4. I am looking forward to this study, but I will start slowly with the highlighting my Bible use to do that as a child, and got away from it.

  5. Good Morning sisters,

is there a specific time that we read or can we do it whenever we have the spare time?

    1. You can read when you have the time. The name Good Morning Girls, because I think they encourage us to read first thing in the morning before our day gets crazy.

But do what works for you. I know a couple of ladies who like to read at night when everything is calm and they can just take their time to immerse themselves.

The important thing is to just read the Word. Take some time daily to get in the Word and listen to God. And as Courtney says to SOAK in God’s Word.

  6. Really excited to begin this study! I am not in a GMG group, but doing the study on my own because English is not my first language: reading it is no problem but expressing myself and writing in English is a different story.

    Thank you for this study,

    Yvonne

  7. Hello! This is my first online bible study and I am really excited. Since October, I have been reading the bible with you, but never truly got deep into the words. About a year ago, I joined a woman’s group and did a Beth Moore study, which I loved, but was still scared to raise my hand in the class to ask questions about things I didn’t understand. Being online, it’s a little easier to “raise my hand.” 🙂 Go figure that the first day would already have me stumped. At 30 years old, I’ve spent a lot of my life fighting my faith or not understanding it enough to be affected by it. I’ve always believed that laws were a good thing (most of them) and the only law that’s ever really got in my way was traffic law, ie: speeding (that dang lead foot of mine). 😉 I’ve never been put into a situation where I’ve had to choose between God’s law and man’s law. My husband and I both work full time, we do our best to pay all our bills every month, pay our taxes, have insurance for everything – and those are just the normal things to do/have. Other than that, I’ve not been affected by too many laws (or maybe I am just unaware?) I’m curious to see what other women use for their example. I feel that unless someone is telling me to hurt someone, like the Pharaoh asked of the midwives, my view of man’s law isn’t that bad.

    1. Hi Jenny! This is also my first online bible study (first bible study ever actually) and I am 32, so we may be in the same boat here. The first example that came to my mind in regards to man’s law not aligning with god’s law is homosexuality. I do realize that this happens to be a very controversial topic in our current world, but this was the first thing that popped into my head.

      1. Thank you so much for that. I never even thought of that. I guess because I’m always too scared to talk about it. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. 🙂 Good luck on your journey with this study.

  8. Super excited to be joining you all. I have my kids reading along in their own quiet time and they are also super excited 🙂

  9. Thank you for doing this, Courtney, et al. Usually, online Bible studies are short, just a few months, topical, etc. I’ve never committed to an online study that will take 3.5+ years. The pace is perfect. I call it the grace pace. All last fall, I was able to keep up or catch up, and there’s just something happy about knowing that if I keep following along, I will eventually read through the whole Bible. This is a welcome perspective change for me, the idea of years instead of months or weeks.

My husband and I have two boys, ages 11 and 13. If we start now, going at your grace pace, we can read through the whole Bible together as a family before our oldest graduates from high school. Thank you for the inspiration!

  10. This is my first time of joining a bible study group. Was introduced by a friend and all set to get SOAKing! I’m excited to be a part of this lovely group 🙂

  11. So blessed and excited for this group of faithful women!!! I have had the privilege of participating in past studies….but I am so excited about this one!

  12. This is the first time I have participated in something like this. I usually read on my own without much of a plan. I was thrilled to learn about this site/group through Facebook. I am so excited to dig into God’s Word! I am really looking forward to Women Living Well, Good Morning Girls and following Courtney as we journey together.

  13. I am excited to see where this journey takes me. I know that God will bless me and I will learn so much as I join you in this reading plan. I look forward to the adventure and pray that God uses this to mold me into his women.

  14. Super ready for this study Courtney ! I learned so much from Genesis by reading just 1 chapter a day and retaining each person’s history instead of reading multiple chapters. LOVED IT !

One thing, would you mind doing a printable of ALL the personal questions too ? Having my son read along as well and thought this way we can discuss ☺ Thanks !

  15. Good Morning 🙂 so I am a little older here and I have never understood blogging….I have all the pencils, workbook etc and already read my Exodus chapter before coming to work. Do I just watch the comments on this page for input into the chapter? I just tried to refresh and it wouldn’t so little confused, would it better to watch on FB? Thanks for the help, this is a first for me to join a group for bible reading, and of course the blog thing 🙂 <3 Cheryl

    1. Hi Cheryl – so glad you are here!!

Yes, head over to the GoodMorning Girls Facebook page – every morning around 7:45am we begin discussing the passage for the day – here’s a direct link to today’s discussion:

      See you over there!
      Courtney
Ps. On Fridays – we fellowship here on the blog in the comment section as we wrap up our week of study!

  16. First time… New to this. But going to try!! I will not be posting since I will be in Haiti for the next 2 weeks. But I will be reading and following as much as I can….. Not sure how much online I will hve.
Good morning girls has been an encouragement to me when I stumbled a crossed it a month ago!! Love and prayers! I did try it get into a group but wasn’t sure how?!?

  17. I seriously just stumbled upon this website and I am in love! I have told several friends about the ch. a day studies and the SOAK method. I already used a similar Bible study method, but for a girl working 2 jobs and loving sleep this is so much more practical. Pretty stoked about being part of this! =)

  18. I have never done anything like this before and would love to start with you guys!!! However, I feel weird starting from Exodus because I wasn’t able to do Genesis with you guys. Any suggestions for catching up??

**BTW I’m a wife and mother of two little girls so time is of the essence lol =D

    1. Amy I say to just jump into Exodus. Maybe read the last couple of chapters of Genesis to see about Joseph getting his family land in Egypt and the Pharaoh’s support, then Joseph dying but looking towards returning his bones to the promise land.

But if don’t have time for last few chapters, just start with us in Exodus. It is so easy to let anxiety get us to hesitate. There is no reason you cannot join us for Exodus just because you have not read Genesis. You won’t get lost at all. Blessings.

      1. Thank you so much TBG for taking the time to answer women’s questions – you were a huge help to me today – I just finished our morning homeschooling and lunch dishes and hopped on to answer questions and there you were – you had done my work for me – praise the Lord! You are a blessing!

Thank you and Lots of Love,
        Courtney

      2. Thank you for the guidance to continue on even though this us the first time joining. I am excited to start and the comfort of the group.

  19. I am so excited to start this study. I am looking forward to memorizing scripture and SOAKING in the Word. Starting next week, my husband will undergo a stem cell transplant at Stanford Hospital and will remain hospitalized 30 days. While I sit with him during recovery, I plan to take that time to dive into Exodus, and pray, and see what God reveals. Thank you for putting this together! It couldn’t be a more perfect time. Blessings!

  20. This is my first online group I’ve ever joined. I can’t wait to read through these awesome chapters! I had such a wonderful morning reading the first chapter and I just prayed for God to open up my heart and give me wisdom and discernment through this book!
Thank you so much for putting this together!

  21. I’m so excited to get started. I need to develop a deeper, closer relationship and understanding with God. I pray that God works in me and molds me to be a better woman of God. I’m seeking this in my journey.

  22. This is my first online group/study! I’m currently enrolled at Liberty U in Virginia (but taking online classes in New Jersey). Come March I will have a certificate in Christian Ministry and then I will go for my bachelors in Psychology and eventually I will become an addiction counselor. I am excited to read along and strengthen my rocky relationship with God. For a 22 year old I have been through so much that has tested my faith and at times I let the Devil win. I’m using this new year to get myself back where I belong, and maybe be able to actually teach my youth group instead of letting someone else lead! Blessings!

  23. 2014 was filled with challenges. Through those challenges I learned a lot about myself. I joined this group so I could be part of something positive. Here’s to a better 2015!

  24. Excited to start back today before I start my studies for school. At 61 yo I have started back to college online to get my BSN in nursing but I am disciplining myself to study His Word 1st.

  25. Silly me I started on January 1st not noting the start on Monday aka today 🙂 I’m excited to start a study group even though I’m still new and not sure how it works lol. Even more excited and motivated to start memorizing scripture and knowing God and his word more. I love how you can read a chapter many times and still more is revealed to you! Thabk you ladies and happy new year! 🙂

  26. Started today! Excited to SOAK in God’s word! My only resolution this year is to learn to be totally dependent on the Lord.

  27. First time joining in and I am so ready! I am not in a group but my 12 year old son will be joining me in the reading and highlighting of his bible.

  28. Hi Courtney, Happy New Year to you and all of the Good Morning Girls!

I am really excited about getting into the study of Exodus; my hubby is already half-way through this book already – he has been really gripped by it.

Unrelated to this study, we so happened to watch over Christmas the classic movie The Ten Commandments which goes thru most of Exodus – the core parts include the Israelite slaves in Egypt and the Parting of the Red Sea.

We’ve read thru the Bible a few times before and something new always jumps out each time we read it. Thanks for all you do Courtney for encouraging me and other women to get deeper into the Word of God!

  29. I’m so excited to get started. Late day at work so I’m just settling in to read. My husband and I just joined a church in October so this is going to help me greatly. I’m excited….

  30. I just recently came across this site via FaceBook and I am really excited to join in this study and see how it goes.

  31. I was so excited to start this morning. With colored pens in hand I began. Using the colors helped me slowly read the chapter and really get a to understand.
There have been many times in my life where I had to choose between God and worldly things. Those times I chose worldly didn’t work out as well as planned.

  32. Hi! I just started the blogging through the Bible series this year. I’m so thankful to have found your site Courtney! I even started my own blog sharing about it. I’m not sure if it’s ok to post my blog, but if so it’s faithfilledfeathers.blogspot.com. Not many posts there yet but will be soon! Thanks again for all the free study guides, printables, and reading plans! Looking forward to blogging through the Bible with ya! God Bless!

  33. I am looking forward to this study. Life has been very rough to me with various types of trauma, heartaches, many tears. Looking for friends who camp and will encourage me.
I suffer from multiple painful conditions that for the most part have been keeping me down. My family disowned me, mother forced me to give up both of my precious children.I have been molested & raped. Been domestically abused, been in a truck wreck that I was killed in, but God sent me back to my body and I am now struggling to keep my marriage together. However, I still praise God for being good to me.He has saved me many times.

  34. Here we go, my first online bible study and I’m really looking forward to it, and the discussions as well.Want to do the whole bible this year and just rekindle my connection with God, grow deeper in love with Him, discover Him afresh. Chapter 2 Exodus here we gooooo 😉

  35. Greetings from Nigeria! I’ve been an inconsistent studier, started from the very beginning but have some chapters to catch up on. I will definitely do that by His grace! I’m excited about doing this because I’ve never read through the Bible before and this pace is just awesome! Thank you Courtney for this great inspiration. I’ve used your other resources like the Proverbs 31 ebook and the advent ebook for a christian women group I run and we have been so blessed by them. God bless you. God bless us all.

  36. Yay, I had to work through day 1 while at work. Work was hectic and a couple of times today I worried that I wouldn’t be able to give the chapter the attention I wanted but I persevered and finished it. I’m really enjoying my study group that I joined too!

  37. i am joining but im a day late ny father is in the hospital so i am catching up. But my new years resolution is to read the Bible through so i pray for knowledge and understanding as i read his word.

  38. I have committed to reading the Bible daily in this new year. Last year I got off track. Last week I started using the coloring chart as I was reading Genesis and it is so helpful for me. I want to tell everyone about it:)

  39. Exodus 3. Ix’m lovingthe questions for each chapter. I didn’t remember in the story of the Burning Bush that God had promised provision for the women through the Egyptian women! How like God’s character to give to us SO abundantly, and creatively!

  40. Where do I print the group discussion questions? I am not apart of a group but excited to be apart of this!

    Michelle

      1. You can also just screen shot it and print it out 🙂 or just keep it in your photos to review it 🙂
        Blessings
        Linda

  41. Good morning, everyone.
I am excited to be doing this. I am a married, mother of 3 sons. I work part-time and am in my last semester of nursing school. I had made a promise to myself that I would make the time to spend more time in His word and work on strengthening my relationship with Our Father. I stumbled across this and thought that the pace and the general attitude of come as you are is wonderful. I am thrilled to begin this journey with all of you.

  42. Oh…….at 54 memorizing is sooooo hard for me:( my 12. Year old daughter was helping me the last 3 nights as I would try to repeat it back to her. We wind up laughing a lot!!!! Every week she has to memorize scripture for her test at school. She just doesn’t understand why I have such a hard time. I say remember you told me that honey when your my age lol. Special moments!
    Blessings!
P.S. out of the word silent you get the word listen.

  43. I am really enjoying this study of Exodus. Taking it one chapter a day is the pace I need. It gives me time to focus and digest the Word of God!

  44. Could someone tell me what Zipporah meant when she said: surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me. My bible says it was and unflattering comment to Moses.
Also, since God was sending Moses to speak why did he not tell him to have his son circumcised first before he could go, instead of sending him out then wanting to kill him for it? He knew Moses had spent half his life at Parorahs Palace. Shouldn’t the death have been for Zipporah for not having it done? God knew Moses was not aware of it so, why was the punishment toward Moses?
    Thanks so much
    Linda

  45. This study or Bible Reading is truly a stream in the desert. Literally for me in my spiritual walk.
Thank you so much. I am blessed and digging deeper.

  46. The particular Los Angeles Kings are starting the actual 2014-2015 time of year with Dance shoes Holiday 2014 displayed by Pizza Haube. Gatherings are planned from Tuesday, Oct 13th by way of From monday, Sept. 15th.

  47. After I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me
when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time
a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the same comment.
There has to be an easy method you are able to remove me from that service?

    Many thanks!
