The Book of Leviticus One Chapter a Day

Our next GMG study is the book of Leviticus!

I’ll be back on Monday, April 20th to kick off our Bible Study!

I know this is one of the least popular books of the Bible. Reading the Ceremonial, Civil and Moral Law is not an easy read.  But you are intelligent women – and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we are capable of reading and wrestling through God’s Word.

You are not walking this road alone – the Good Morning Girls community is a vibrant group of women who are serious about walking with God everyday.

We will read one chapter a day through the book of Leviticus.  It will take us 5 1/2 weeks to complete this book.  Every Monday, I will provide a printable meditation verse for the week, discussion and reflection questions, a printable Bible Bookmark, Free eJournal and I’ll post a weekly devotional on Fridays.

On Instagram and Facebook, I’ll be posting our reading for the day and the verse of the day.

We use 3 different styles of Bible Study here.  There is no right or wrong way to do this. Pick the style that best fits your season of life and personality. 😉

1.) Simply read the assigned chapter every day.  This takes 5 minutes a day.

2.) Use the SOAK method to Soak in the scripture.  This takes 15 minutes a day. (an explanation is found in this post here.)

3.) Use the Bible Coloring Chart. This takes 10 minutes a day. (an explanation and a link to all the tools I use are found here)

Many of us have never read this book before – so I cannot wait to dig into the meat of God’s Word with you!!!  Grab a friend and join us.

For those who like to plan ahead – here is the Leviticus Free Printable eJournal.  Print it, 3 hold punch it and put it in a 3 ring binder and you are set to go!

We will study the Book of Proverbs and Song of Solomon.

{Squeal} These are 2 of my favorite books of the Bible! It’s gonna be fun!

At that time, the forum will be open for regrouping.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us!

  4. I am so glad I found you!!! This has made being in Gods word an achievable goal for me even if it is not every day. Thank you!!!!

  5. Survey completed! I am soooo excited!! Participating in the Reading & Blogging Through the Bible with GMG has impacted my life in a huge way! I have learned so much and love this time that I can just shut everything else out and really study the Bible.

Thank you Courtney for leading this journey for us and for letting me be apart in some small way.

  6. Courtney I am so excited about what is to come. I love Proverbs too and I cannot wait to dig into these two books with all of you. Thank you so much for your passionate love for Christ…it really inspires me and I am very grateful to be able to be a part of GMG. Praying for us all to have the endurance to dig into Leviticus. Enjoy your break and God bless you and yours!

  7. Courtney, I really, really love your blog. I have been a Christian for long time. I received Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour at age of 9. I am currently homebound due to disabling spinal fusion and bone autograft surgery from almost 6yrs ago..Your ministry , blog,&GMG BS has been such ahuge blessing from God. I thank Him for you and the other GMG girls . Since finding your blog and GMG I have been in God’s Word like never before. Thank you so much for re-igniting God’s Word for me. It means so much. Have a great spring break!

  8. I wanted to say that I have always been unmotivated and undisiplined when it came to reading the bible. This blog is the only thing that is helping to change that. It has given me a desirable place to go to stay in The Word. I have still missed a lot of reading days but God has used this blog to instill in me the daily disipline and awareness of the importance of being in His Word. This blog is what got me reading Gods word again and continuing to read it. For that I am very grateful. Thank you Courtney for all of your hard work, you are making a difference and have been a blessing to me:)

  9. I fill out the survey. The Dutch GMG start Monday during your break with Psalmen.

And on April 20 we go along with you all through Leviticus.

    Eveline

  10. Thanks Courtney for all the work you do! Good Morning Girls has given my Bible reading some structure and I enjoy reading all the insights on the Facebook group after reading a chapter and Soaking in the Bible.

Have a beautiful break, God bless you!

  11. I found you through Pinterest about 3 weeks ago and was so excited to see the bible reading/study program! Since I like to start things from the beginning, I didn’t study the book of Matthew but I’m looking forward to Leviticus very much! After leaving a very legalistic religion, I guess you could say that my walk with the Lord is a fairly new one and I’m still learning. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate being able to learn how to study the bible with the SOAK method and be lead by the Holy Spirit. Thank you for all of your efforts!

    1. Welcome! You will love it and I have no doubt you are going to learn and grow so much. How blessed you are to have found WLW/GMG near the beginning of your walk. Praying for you

  12. Hi Courtney,

Thank you for all the work that you put into Women Living Well! I am fairly new to your studies and have so appreciated your enthusiasm, your blog, your study materials, the discussions… I also love the accountability and knowing that there are so many people studying the same book of The Bible at the same time.

Blessings to you and your family and have a great, relaxing and renewing spring break!

  13. I am so glad I found you and the website! I am a newbie and started with the Proverbs 31 Woman study. I will be done by the time you start your Summer bible study! I can’t wait to be a part of something current! 🙂
Thanks for being a wonderful Christian woman whom I can look to for guidance and reassurance in my walk with God and being a Proverbs 31 woman to my husband and family!

  14. I hope you enjoy the break! I sooooo appreciate the time and effort you put into your blog and ministry! It’s hard to see how it’s impacting people when we aren’t with you face to face, but GMG has changed my desire to learn God’s word. I now have a passion for His word that I never had before. I can study in this format and NOT be spoon fed by others. I can read and let God reach me where I am. I love love love love how you are doing things now. I love your vision and I love that you care enough about what people think to even put up a survey. You clearly are doing your best to CONNECT with people and I am so blessed because of it. Thank you and happy break!!!

  15. Dear Courtney,
Because of your bible study & posts, this Lenten season has been my most spiritual & meaningful one. Thank you for all that you do to bring the Joy of Jesus to all you touch. You evangelize in such a positive, loving, & powerful way – you are truly blessed with a gift for spreading the word of our Lord.

Your family looks beautiful in your Easter photo. On a vain note, where did you purchase that stunning blue top? You always look so well put together – I really wish I could find some of those flattering tunic/poncho/flutter tops that you wear.

Blessings to you & your family,

    Lorelai

    1. Lorelai,

Thank you so much for the encouragement!

I bought my top at Macy’s – I really like the Alfani brand and Style & Co. brand there – here’s a link to those brands:

      http://www1.macys.com/shop/search?keyword=style+%26+co+blouses

The prices you see listed are never what I pay. I always buy them when they are on sale. 😉

I’m a big New York and Company fan too 😉

When I shop at resale shops I look for these brands!

Maybe this is a future blog post. Lol! 😉
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  16. Courtney, I filled out the survey and asked a question. Also, the question re: married or single might include answers for widowed/divorced. I’m a young widow with 7 kids, so while I am single, I have nearly all married friends. Those who have been married walk between two worlds sometimes! Thankful for your ministry and your site here.

  17. I completed the survey. I am beyond blessed to have found GMG just in the nick of time. I had been asking God for a way to understand and retain what I was reading in His word. I, like many others, was so focused on getting through the bible quickly. I felt discouraged because I couldn’t remember a thing I had read. Courtney, you helped me understand that getting through the bible is not the most important thing. Instead, what is importtant is that I remember what I read so I can reference and pull out certain scriptures when others may need to hear it. Also, when I need encouragement in certain areas of my life I can find it in the verses we’ve read. I believe it’s important to remember that reading the bible from cover to cover is super important and can prove to be very useful in all aspects and seasons of life…but it is not a requirement to spend eternity with our Farher in heaven. The chapter a day is perfect and allows me so much reflection time on just a small percentage of His great word. Even when we are done I am starting back over because I believe there is so much more to learn that I didn’t get the first time around. I believe this method to be so useful I will more than likely keep starting over and using it the rest of my life.
I’d also like to say thank you for all the references and links you post to other pages that have been so helpful in my life. I have drawn so much encouragement through them as well as yours.

  18. Courtney~ I found your blog and book a few short months before my wedding, last summer. I was beginning to really dive into how my life was about to change with my upcoming vows, and what I wanted my role as a wife to look like. I reached an almost panic, trying to figure out what it should look like- wifedom. Never having a strong faith before, or growing up in a home where faith was present, turning to the Bible was one of the last places I’d have ever guessed I would look for some answers! However, after stumbling upon your blog and your book, I began to figure out some of the intentional choices I wanted to make in order to strive to be a wife and help-mate to my husband. Without realizing it, you changed my life and helped to lead me to a stronger relationship with God, my husband and some of the close people around us! Keep up the great work you’re doing here!

    With love from Wellington, Ohio,
    Meg

  19. I’ve been a follower for about 4 years now. Not quite sure how I found you but I think it was a link thru another blog, maybe Generation Cedar perhaps? Not sure. Anyway, this blog has been a blessing in my life and I’ve been blessed enough to meet you IRL at the WLW conference in ’13.

Right now, I’m going through another rough spot in my life…getting a divorce. It’s for the best. But anyway….I appreciate you standing for the truth, given last year’s trial. Sticking to your beliefs is important, even if it dissolves a life-long friendship 🙁 Too many churches are failing to follow Scripture and what it says, instead caving to the trends in today’s society.

I do miss the posts on how to improve your marriage..be a better parent, etc. A nice mix of both Bible study and those types of posts would be perfect.

My question is: how do we know who is preaching Sound Scripture and who is preaching their own agenda? I know you don’t like to name names but I’ve read that people like Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen and Rick Warren are preaching a ‘feel-good’ Gospel and not what the Bible says, which is what your blog is about. So who’s right? You and them cannot both be right.

  20. Just completed the survey and id like to say thankyou courtney for helping come to the real Christ! Keep up the great work. Hope you read my question at the end. Xx
    Zoe. (Uk)

  21. Courtney,
This response is for Kelly, if you wish to publish it. Kelly, your exact question on identifying sound biblical teaching came up in our Church Bible Study a few weeks ago, so thought I would share our wise teacher’s thoughts on that topic, if Courtney agrees. Our teacher advised to verify all teachings with scripture…not just to see the teachings resonate or “mesh”, but can be scripturally verified with God’s word….to identify sound teachings. I cannot comment on the other blogs as I am not familiar with those teachings. However, I know that WLW and GMG are scripturally based and pass my “verification”test. Also, Courtney’s blogs always leave me feeling encouraged, inspired or “re-directed” from a scriptural perspective. There are many “societal” issues now being “interpreted” from various viewpoints when the Bible is clear on topics in question. With that said, we are not a legalistic people living in Old Testament times, but claim the New Testament promise of forgiveness which we just celebrated with Jesus last week. God will surely show you His way when asked. Personally, I feel Courtney’s blog is a trusted beacon of biblical truth and encouragement. Courtney, thanks for your many efforts and commitment for this ministry in the midst of a busy family life!

    1. Thank you for your reply! I appreciate it…in today’s society, it’s hard to distinguish what is Truth and what is false doctrine. I also believe that what Courtney says is truth. Hence my following her for 4 years 🙂

  22. Courtney,

Thank you very much for your quick response to my query. You are so very kind to take the time to read & respond to all of the comments on your blog.

    Blessings-

    Lorelai

    1. Hi Tina,

I’m so sorry about the loss of your mother. 🙁

I appreciate your comment and your love and blessings! It’s an honor to get to be a part of your life in a small way. Thank you for sharing this.

      Lots of Love, (and hugs)
      Courtney

  24. Courtney praise God for your ministry and the growth it has developed in me. I was reared a Catholic but never really read the bible until the last 3 years. Thank you God for leading me to my new church and to WLW / GMG studies.
I know you did a talk re walking with the King daily at a WLW web cast conference a year or more ago. Maybe a reflective video from WLW /GMG followers on how your ministry and daily walk with Jesus has changed their lives to serve as encouragement to others.
    You are my blessing,
    Trish

  25. completed the survey! I am glad you are doing Leviticus, it is actually one of my favorite books because of all the teachings about the priesthood, and the sacrifices. Since we are a royal priesthood I enjoy comparing and contrasting the OT roles versus the NT. Good Stuff!

  26. I just love you so much and am so grateful and blessed by all of the awesome work that God is doing through you! I look forward to each and every one of your posts and am delighted to read them. Thank you so very much for all of the hard work and dedication that goes into all that you do. Keep up the awesome work, you rock!

  27. I just wanted you to know that I recently started following GMG and bought the Women Living Well book yesterday. I have been spiritually depriving myself as of late due to “busyness” that comes straight down to laziness. But I’ve been through your website and looked at all the resources and am now ecstatic to getting back into God’s Word chapter by chapter and push myself to be better at following what God wants for my life. So thank you for having this blog!

  28. Hi there, I just added your page to my daily reading of blogs (as recommended by a friend), and I am already so excited to join in on the next Bible study! I plan to print out the sheets this week and get ready for it. I’ve been looking for something to revamp my personal blog, and I think my Bible study reflections will be a great addition 🙂 Looking forward to joining this site of Godly women!

  29. I was wondering if you could post the resources for Leviticus? I need to get an early start as I will be away for a week caring for grandchildren and I fear I won’t have the time to devote to Bible study that I do at home.

  30. I have not been saved very long, but I am in desperate need for female friendship. I love my husband dearly, but need the chatter of another woman upon occasion. I recently encountered someone who said that I had been on her heart and asked me to be a part of an accountability group that she was starting . We had plans to meet and was going to follow your upcoming Bible Study. Then the other night she sent me a FB message to say that she had been asked to be a part of a “stronger” accountability group and she couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I am completely broken. I am hoping that I can become a part of an online Bible study that I see so many ladies talking about. Can you please help me to find one?

    1. Cherie, you can contact me. My prayer life has not been good in the last year. Excuses, life, more excuses. I just found the women living well website tonight. I’m excited to start the daily reading in Leviticus. I went to a Women of Joy conference. Becky Tirabassi spoke. Her talk was about prayer life and a prayer journal. I bought her daily Bible and journal and book. The journal is a great starter. I used one and when it was filled I used a blank journal I had. Her system is wonderful. And you can utilize it with the women living well daily reading. Her bible is a new living translation. Contact me by email (sewcrazy183@gmail.com) if you want or friend me at Facebook.com/lindseysews

I’m sorry that woman didn’t invite you you to this other group. Since the WLW group has a FB page I will be joining it tonight.

      1. Cherie, I ‘re-read what I wrote. I wasn’t trying to say that you have to have the stuff I mentioned. They are good things to help, but you just need a Bible you like and a journal

  31. Courtney
I found you through Pinterest. The revive your marriage series in 2012.
Thank you for all that you do.
My favorite is the marriage posts. We are going on 35 years so I want to make it better everyday.
