Introducing the Book of Luke

Join Good Morning Girls as we read through the Bible cover to cover one chapter a day. Here is all the information you need to study the Book of Luke. #Biblestudy #Luke #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

Our time in 1 Samuel has been great.  The depth of study in our personal quiet times and the sharing on the GMG Facebook Page has been nothing short of amazing!

That is why I am SO excited to pause our reading in the Old Testament and move into the New Testament into the Gospel of Luke!  But we’ll be back to the Old Testament and the book of 2 Samuel, following this study.

Our reading in Luke will line up perfectly with the remembrance of Good Friday and the celebration of Easter Sunday!

We begin our study in the Gospel of Luke on Monday, March 13th!

This study will run for 5 weeks – from March 13th to April 13th.

The Luke Journal is available now exclusively on Amazon!

We also have a Good Morning Guys Luke Journal
for your sons ages 10 and up and a new blog for these guys at:
GoodMorningGuys.org

Both journals have an identical interior. My hope is that we will not only get into the Word ourselves but also get our sons and daughters into the Word as well.  Let’s disciple the next generation!

Inside the journals you will find:

*An Introduction to the Book of Luke
*An explanation of how to use the signature S.O.A.K. method of the GMG’s
*The GMG Coloring Chart
* The Verse of the Day each day
*A Reflection Question for each day
* Blank space for SOAKing each chapter of the Book of Luke

This companion Journal is NOT required to join us.

If you are new, welcome to Good Morning Girls!  We are so glad you are here!

Questions You May Ask

How do I enroll for this Luke study?

There is no enrollment.  No requirement to subscribe. All are welcome. Come and join in anytime!

What is Good Morning Girls?

“Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, Twitter or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times.

How Do I Start a Good Morning Girls accountability group?

Invite some of your friends to join you.  Pray about who from your church, Bible study group, family, neighborhood or workplace would be a good fit.  Groups that are smaller generally work better – 2-12 is a good number especially for email and text messaging groups. Facebook groups can go quite a bit larger and still work.

Can I Join a Group On-Line?

Currently – we are not opening any groups here on-line for the spring session.  If you have a group that is open to new members – please leave a link to it in the comment section for others.

Is there support for GMG Leaders?

Yes, we have a private Facebook Group just for you.  I’ll post that link soon – so watch for more details.

Here at Good Morning Girls, we are Reading Through the Bible– one chapter a day – five days a week.

This is a wonderful method that slows us down and helps us soak in every single word.

Here’s what it looks like in my Bible (and some of yours).

Still not sure how this all works? Here is a video explaining it further.

Here are the highlighters, pens and pencils I mentioned in the video:

Highlighters – Acid Free – Bible Hi-Glider
Fine Line Non-bleeding Pens – Micron Archival Ink and Multi-Colored Gel Pens
Colored Pencils – Crayola Twistables and Crayola Colored Pencils
I use the ESV Inductive Study Bible as my personal study Bible.

  1. I had such a great time in 1st Samuel…although I am not done yet I will continue and be better for the book of Luke coming in March. This is such a great group and I look forward to the next journey with all you ladies in Christ Jesus. Be blessed.

  2. Courtney,

I love GMG and appreciate all that you do! Any recommendations for daily study in the weeks leading up to when we begin Luke in a few weeks? Thanks for any recommendations!

    1. Hi Brooke,

If you have missed some of our other studies – I recommend going back and doing one of those – here are the resources for them: https://womenlivingwell.org/good-morning-girls-resources/

The book of James is just a 2 week study so it would be a perfect fit. Song of Solomon or Esther could work as well.

If you’ve done them all – this could be a good time to work on enhancing your prayer life. Buy a cute journal and commit to longer prayer sessions each day.

      Hope that helps! 🙂
      Courtney

  3. Looking forward to Luke! A suggestion though; since we’ve been in the OT for a while, I’d love a video on how you choose which colors to use. I struggle a bit with choosing whether something should be blue or yellow or purple in the NT. I know it doesn’t really matter but I’d love to hear your thought process.

    1. Thank you for this suggestion Laura – I agree that an updated video on this would be good.

I’ll consider this as time allows. 🙂 Thank you!
      Courtney

  4. Thanks for the great study of 1 Samuel. I have been readying through the Bible with you since the beginning and am very greatful for the accountability, for the guidance, and encouragement you’ve provided!

  5. I gained so much spiritual wisdom through studying 1 Samuel with you all…it was an amazing time! I’m so eager to begin Luke with y’all in March! I’ve already bought my journal! 🙂

  6. Hi Courtney – I’ve been following you and reading through the bible for almost 2 years! Just a quick question… I’ve emailed you a couple of times and haven’t received a response. Just wondering if posting a comment is a better way to reach you. Let me know. Thank you so much for your time and commitment to helping me grow in Christ.

    1. I apologize April.

Yes – leaving a comment here might be better. You wouldn’t believe how many emails I get. I can’t keep up 🙁 So if it’s not personal in nature – it’d be better to post it here.

      Thank you,
      Courtney

  7. Hi. I loved the study of 1 samuel was so intrigued by the life of David was surprised to see we were not continuing to 2 Samuel. The stories were getting so much better.

    1. Hi Natalie,

I’m so glad you loved 1 Samuel. We are just taking a pause to focus on Jesus in the book of Luke for the Easter Season but we’ll be back to 2 Samuel right after. So that is our next study following the book of Luke.

Look for the 2 Samuel Bible Study details at the end of this study – those will be here soon!

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  8. A nice thing to do during these two weeks break is read the book The Shack and see the movie that comes out this Friday!! So super excited to see the book come to life! And an all star cast to boot. This book changed my life this summer and got a bigger glimpse into the character of God Jesus and Holy Spirit.

    1. If you want to have the only glimpse into the character of God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, stick with the Bible. The Shack promotes the New Age religion, not the Bible.

  9. I plan on starting a small group with a group of ladies from my church. Are there any leader’s training required? A leader’s group to join?

Am going to call it GMG – Heritage (on FaceBook), anyone is welcome though.

  10. well I’m new to the WLW, I logged on the last week of Samuel so I thought I would wait for the book of Luke , I’m really trying hard to read my Bible more and understand it . Wish me good luck with following this , I will try to follow up on the comments , notes etc .

  11. I will be joining you this month. I am so excited. I need the Lord in all that I do. I tend to stray away when my life gets extremely busy. I am beyond ready for this study!

  12. I found your page via Pinterest as I am trying to form a stronger, more active bond in my faith. Something about the pin that I found called out to me and I am so looking forward to beginning the journey through Luke together!

  13. I’m sorry please forgive me, but I was not able to access the discussion questions or verse of the day that was mentioned as being posted every Monday on the blog.Did I misunderstand? Thanks for your help.

  14. I don’t remember how I found this study, but was excited to get in and be apart of the group. I have printed off all the questions and discussion guide. I am just wondering how can I interact if I am not a part of a group. I am sure I could find some friends in time to create one for the next study. I am so excited about all of this and believe put this website in my path for a reason. I need the accountability! My husband is also doing it and our kids as well. Please keep me informed about the groups. Thank you so much for all your work and I can’t wait to see how The LOrd speaks to me and how he uses me in the future based on what He teaches me through this!
