The 3 Qualities of a Woman Who Is Resting Well

In this study of Rest and Release, we learn how to open our hearts for God's peace and release our burdens to the Lord so we can be women who rest well. #Biblestudy #restandrelease #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

A cell phone that is always on, will quickly drain.  Sometimes we are tempted to remain “on”, trying to get more done in a day or putting more on our plate than we should.

The end result: we feel drained.

We need rest.

Join me on today’s video,  as I discuss The 3 Qualities of a Woman Who is Resting Well.

Thank you for joining me for the Rest and Release Bible Study.  I feel so blessed that you took this journey with me.  Our next Bible Study will be announced in mid-December here on the blog.  It will begin in January of 2018.

If you fell behind or want to go through this study again with friends – all of the videos and blog posts and resources for Rest and Release will remain available here on the blog.

As you continue on the path of resting and releasing your burdens to the Lord, may you live with strength and dignity.  May you laugh without fear of the future. May you always trust in God every hour, every day, every season and every year, until you see your Heavenly Father face to face.  He loves you so.

Keep walking with the King,

Courtney 🙂

  1. Thank you for this. I’m right in the middle of a situation similar to yours. These are things I needed to hear.

  2. Thank you for this bible study. I have gotten so much out of it. It has blessed me. I think I’ll go back and repeat it once more while waiting for your new one. God Bless.

      1. I listened to the video. It was very encouraging and edifying. I am glad I found the blog and website. Blessings.

  3. Courtney -I feel like you are right here in front of me, talking and encouraging me personally. I don’t know if you are really aware of how your energy and enthusiasm transmits through the screen but they do!!! I’m sure that’s why so many of us return again and again to see your happy face, you just glow from sharing the word of God.
I really appreciate all that you put into your work. It’s evident that you live and learn and then turn around and somehow pull all those lessons together to share. It is a gift and I know I speak for lots of women when I say (or shout lol) THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR GIFT!!!!

    1. Dear Victoria – thank you so much for your comment. It really blessed me. I appreciate your encouragement so very very much!!!

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  4. Thank you for this study and for your timely and knowledgeable work to spread Jesus’s word. Love the P Graham Dunn sign..one of my favorite stores. Looking forward to January’s study.

  5. Courtney, I just found your blog and though it was the last video in this series watched anyway. Thank you for sharing the laughing at the days to come verse. I have a tough appointment today that fills me with dread. I needed to remember my rock and sure foundation who brings freedom from fear and dread. He’s got us today. Thank you for that needed reminder!

  6. I have so enjoyed this study, it was just what I needed. I have been following you for years and so obviously have been heartbroken for what you have gone through. You were an inspiration to me as a Godly wife and gave me so many things that I have used in my marriage. But to see how you have risen above your circumstances and are still able to encourage and inspire after what’s happened in your life, is just amazing and so much more inspiring. I can imagine that women who have gone through what you have can now look to you for encouragement and you can be such a light for them. Bless you and have a wonderful holiday season! ❤️

    1. Dear Ann,

Thank you for your compassion and encouragement! I really appreciate it. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season too!!!! 🙂

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  7. amen! thanks so much for the study, videos and especially this video. it resonated so loud and made me think and have a new perspective that even as a young widow, I can still be the proverbs 31 woman! after being single for a decade, I thought what is wrong with me, God why aren’t I remarried like all of my friends. but let me say this, this is our father -daughter time that no one can take away. no man can replace. it’s been an amazing journey will God and there is a blessing in being single. it’s freeing, and actually fun..i do what I want when I want. and days when I’m lonely or sad I turn to the Lord, where in the past I turned to my man. I know the Lord has a plan, maybe I will marry again, but for now in this place I am content..and will laugh at the days to come.

    1. Dear Lin,

I am so sorry for your loss. 🙁 And yes – this father/daughter time is precious!!! I love your perspective. Thank you for sharing that with me.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

    2. I am coming in to this late but I wanted to say how much I loved your analogy of father/daughter time. I am about to go through a divorce after almost 3 years of being separated from my husband of 31 years. What you said gave me a new perspective and I took a little time to reflect. While I would love to have my marriage back for the sake of the kingdom, it’s not to be. During all this time alone with God it has been good, and fun as you said. The pain is still there, I still wrestle with feelings of being rejected but GOD…Oh He’s so sweet. And none of us knows what our future holds, not even the next minute really. So I will just take this singleness as joy and walk with my Father.
Thank you, Lin for your post. And thank you Courtney for your studies, your openness, your replies and for pointing people to Jesus.

  8. Thank you so much for this restful Bible study!!! I’m so thankful for the time spent in God’s word and prayer! Yes Jesus loves me and you! Thank you Courtney ❤️

  10. Thank you so much for doing this bible study! It came at a perfect time in my life and I feel like I was able to get so much out of it!

  11. Man has this study slowed me down! It has gave such a peace and rest to my anxious and overwhelmed heart. For me it was definitely discovering how much I am loved by God. That was just it for me it allowed me to trust and release my baggage unto him. Thank you Courtney for loving God and allowing him to use you through your unfinished story. May you have a wonderful and peaceful season full of blessings. God bless✝????✝

  12. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful study! I loved it, and I can’t wait for the next one! You are an amazing Proverbs 31 woman, and you always inspire me. God bless you!

  13. You speak to me in this lesson. I have been through a marriage so like yours it is scary. I too struggle with what my purpose is. I have never doubted God and knowing he has a plan or me. And it is so easy to forget that when your world has been shaken you are broken into pieces more than the sands on the beach. I do not know how I could have gone on without knowing God and his Son plan and simple …. I want the sign to hang in my knew little home. I need reminding. Thank you… It does somehow get better

    1. Dear Linda,

I’m so sorry for what you have gone through. I love your strength to trust in Jesus no matter what! Keep going and thank you for the encouragement!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  14. Thank so much Courtney for this study, for sharing how this has helped you personally, and for reminding us it is so important to continually rest in Jesus. With the new year coming up it gets me thinking on finding a new planner to help me schedule time and set some new goals. I have learned that I require more down time/resting time otherwise I’m full of anxiety. Looking to plan lots of resting time and have prayed for God to show me new ways of adding this to my schedule. On a side note my heart & prayers are still with you. I’m thankful that God is with us always. Much love & hugs❤️

  15. Courtney,

This study is so timely. I now am walking through the lowest valley in my 34 year marriage. Your example and this study have been used mightily over the last 4 weeks. I have adopted Proverbs 31:5 now as well…love the wall plaque, have to find me one. I pray God’s continued blessings on you and your family. I love your personality and bubbly spirit, so contagious ????????

    Much love ????????????????

  16. Thank you for being such an inspiration, and helping so man6 of us to find our rest in God.

Do you mind my asking where you found that inspirational sign – what store were you in?

Looking forward to reconnecting with yo7 in the new year. In the meantime, I am off to begging your Ecclesiastes study.

    Thank you –

    JM

  17. Wow, my above message is riddled with typos – I downloaded an update and my keyboard now has a mind of its own!

  18. Courtney, what a terrific study. Thank you!
My GMG of many years really enjoyed the SOAK studies and your devotionals. Lots of us had the “rug pulled out from under us” in different ways; very challenging circumstances including a house fire, a teen son needing to be admitted to a recovery program, and more daily trials….. God is so good to give your wise words to us for such a time as this!!!

  19. Courtney,

Thanks for another GREAT study! I learned so much and everything was so applicable to my life. This was my first time leading a study with a group of women online on facebook. It went great and I believe all the women were greatly helped and ministered to like I was. We’re looking forward to the January study! Thank you for putting this all together for us and for persevering with your blog and GMG although at times, I’m sure you felt like giving up. God is still using you mightily!!

  20. Courtney,

Thank you for continuing to allow God to shine through you like you do. This study has blessed every single member of our group. When life happens all around us, we know we can rest. Please know you have a true Sisterhood in Christ right here, and we understand the road you’ve been travelling this past year in this season of your life. We are here to help lift you and each other up, pointing each other straight to The Word. This is a beautiful walk with you and all our other Sisters by our side!! Blessings to you and your family.

  21. Thank you so much Courtney. I had no idea how much I needed this study. It is absolutely wonderful. I am going to go through it one more time. I am praying for you and your children as you embark on a new journey with Jesus as your Head.

Thank you again for all you do for us. We Love You and we are so blessed because of your faithfulness.

  22. Thank you for this study! Any chance you will go back to reading through the Bible? I really enjoyed that and it’s hard to keep it up without you!

    1. Hi Sylvia,

In January, I will begin back to the Reading through the Bible Series but most likely it will not be at the pace I was doing before. 😉

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  23. You are so amazing, Courtney. Thank you for your honesty and your heart for Jesus. God Bless you.
    Love,
    Patty
