Here are this week’s Personal Reflection Questions

Day 1

What is your favorite song to sing to Jesus? Why is it your favorite?

Day 2

What do you need to release in prayer today? Write your prayer below.

Day 3

Look around the room and take time to reflect. Make a long list of things you are thankful for today.

Day 4

What is inside your bag that you have been hiding from those around you? Take it out now and give it to God.

Day 5

Is there something in your life that you need help with? What is keeping you from getting the help you need from friends or family? If it is pride, humble yourself. If it is because you don’t feel like you have anyone to turn to, pray God brings a God fearing woman into your life and until then, go see a pastor or counselor.

This Week’s Challenge: Release

It is only through knowing and receiving God’s love, that we are able to rest and release our burdens to him. If you do not believe you are loved unconditionally, then you will feel like you have to work to please God. You’ll never quite feel like you are enough and you will certainly not be able to trust him with your burdens.

We have seen from last week’s study, that God loves you deeply. He’s not looking for good behavior, he’s looking for deeper intimacy with you. He doesn’t just want to meet with you on Sunday mornings in the pew. He wants a day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute relationship with you.

Are you ready to live that way?

To live like Jesus is right there with you every step of the way, always there to lighten your load?

Sometimes I feel the closest to God when I am singing worship music. There is a release that happens when we sing. Some say that singing is just as beneficial as exercise, in regards to releasing the happy endorphins in your brain. Singing lifts our spirits and relieves built up tension – so lets do what the book of Psalms tells us, and sing to the Lord. Sing out in the shower or the car or wherever you can. Let’s rest and release.

Week 3 Challenge

Determine to sing to the Lord this week.

I have a playlist I have created titled “worship music” on my iPhone. I’ll be listening to it on the treadmill, in the car and in my kitchen on my blue tooth speaker and I may or may not be belting out songs to Jesus in the shower.

{Share your pictures of your worship playlist on Instagram by using the hashtags: #RestAndRelease #WomenLivingWell and #GoodMorningGirls}

The Verses of the Day:

I encourage you to choose which verse you’d like to memorize or meditate on.  The printable below includes all 5 verses of the day — for the entire week!  Print and cut them out and put them in the bathroom, kitchen, beside your bed and computer and use them for meditation throughout the week.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8

  1. HI! Thank you for your encouragement in leading us in God’s word. Could you share your playlist with us? Thanks.

    1. Hi Becky – I shared one of my playlists that I’ve been listening to a lot lately on instagram this morning here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BaT2hXyH6WV/?taken-by=womenlivingwell

I listen to so many different songs from different albums that I felt like a screenshot barely does it justice. Sometimes I like upbeat music like Toby Mac and Mandisa and other times I listen to some of the Christian rap that my kids like. Lol! I really like some of Jeremy Camp, Britt Nicole, Crowder, Hillary Scott, Jamie Grace, Michael W Smith, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns and on and on it goes… Check out my screen shot on the link above – hope that helps!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  2. This study has been a much needed time of rest in my life. The song that I currently have on repeat is Hillsong United “So will I ( 100 Billion X)”. I can’t stop listening to it. These are some of the lyrics:
    “And as You speak
    A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
    I can see Your heart
    Eight billion different ways
    Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I”

  3. God speaks through the music of earth. Some of my favorites:
Your Love Ran Red; Now I Belong to Jesus; There’s no Friend to me like Jesus; In the Garden.

They remind me of all that Father God has done for me in Christ and how precious our walk together is.
Thank you, Courtney! Blessings to ALL……………

  4. Hi Courtney!
I was not able to start the Rest and Release series because I was involved in another study that I wanted to finish up first. I really want to begin this – starting Nov. 1st, and I wonder if all of the resources will still be available at that time? Thank you so much, and may God bless you for all that you are doing!

    1. Hi Judy,

All of the videos and resources will remain on the blog after we finish this study so you can do it anytime and at your own pace! 🙂

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  5. My favorite song is Need You by Plumb. I blast in in the car on my way to work quite frequently. My favorite bible passage in this weeks study is “Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7.

Thank you so much for sharing this bible study Courtney. It has helped me to grow spiritually. I had not realized how immature I really am. Truly grateful for finding you and this study. Thank you for sharing.
