How To Experience God

You don't have to go to a special meeting or a women's retreat to experience God. You can experience God wherever you are every single day. #Biblestudy #Romans #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

We serve a God who is alive and active in our daily lives.  We don’t have to go on a women’s retreat or be in the middle of a quiet time, to experience God. He shows up in the most ordinary of times like when something on my car is broken and I need a hand at the gas station or when I’m sitting on the edge of my son’s bed, talking about the deeper things of life.

Experiencing God is not just for pastors and missionaries or authors and speakers – it’s for moms and daughters and women everywhere who believe on His name.  So join me on this video as we look at Romans 5:1-5 and discuss “How to Experience God.”

Romans 5:6-11 says:

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

In Romans 5:6-11, the greatness and depth of God’s love is contrasted with a description of us.  We are described as weak, ungodly and enemies of God.

There is NO greater proof or evidence of God’s love for us, than Jesus’ death on the cross.

Once we are saved, we experience additional proof, but while we were enemies of God – He went first!  He died for us and now that we are not enemies, we are reconciled to Him and we get to experience an abundance of His love, poured out on us daily.

When God saved us from our sins, we escaped his coming wrath but we don’t get to escape all the hardships that come along with this life. Instead, we get to live our lives with the presence of a loving Heavenly Father, who is always with us. He goes before us and guides,  comforts, strengthens and protects us.

Look for the hand of God on your hard days, ordinary days and happy days. You are loved!  Rest in that love today.

  4. thanks Courtney this was so helpful today. I’ve been beating myself up and about to quit grad school because it’s so hard and expensive, but it was something I wanted to accomplish in my life, to show myself I can do it, but this one will not be done on my strength, but God’s. I need his spirit to empower me and to help me believe I can do this! amen!
