100% of Us Will Die. Are You Prepared for Judgement Day?

2 Corinthians 5 forces us to ask the question: Are you prepared for judgement day? 100% us will die, are we ready to face God afterward? #Biblestudy #2Corinthians #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

The fear of death is real.  Everywhere we look, we see people with masks on.  Daily, the news media gives us an update of how many have died of Covid and so…at some point I began to wonder…before Covid, what was the typical number of deaths a day?

Did you know that around 150,000 people die a day, around the world?  In 2015, 57 million people died.  Death is a natural part of life and friends, whether Covid is around or not – one statistical fact remains…

100% of Us Are Going to Die.

100% of us are going to see God face to face!  And the Bible says in Hebrews 9:27: “It is appointed unto man to die once and then to face judgement.”

Are you prepared for Judgement Day?

Join me on this video as we talk about 2 Corinthians 5 and what judgement day will look like for the believer and the unbeliever.

I know that was a sobering video to watch.

It’s important that we take hard stops in the midst of our busy lives, to refocus and be intentional.  It’s easy to get our eyes so fixed on the temporary things of this world, that we forget — there is an unseen world and an eternal life awaiting us after death.  One day, we will see Jesus face to face and what a wonderful day that will be!

That is why being in God’s word daily is so important.  It changes the way we think and in turn, changes the way we live.

I’m so glad you are joining us for this study!  Keep on going and I’ll see you back here this Monday as we begin Week 2 in the book of 2 Corinthians.  If you are behind – use the weekend to catch up on your study and if you are looking for the reflection questions for the first 5 chapters of 2 Corinthians – you can find them here.

16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Be strong and courageous and keep walking with the King!

  1. This video spoke to me. Your blog was a safe haven for me 8 years ago when I started reading. It was you who gave me the inspiration and courage to step in faith and homeschool. I did for 7 years then put my kids into public school and I drifted away from your blog. The coronavirus started and then the kids came back home. I felt God leading me back to homeschool this year but I resisted. I can see what they are learning now with the public teachers and it is so disheartening. I am praying for a breakthrough for my selfishness in looking for happiness over Gods will. I am feeling the struggle for health right now. Also I think it is the right to not temp God and to stay home (other than work) and wear your mask. It shows love of your neighbor and obedience to the law. I don’t think tempting God to have to save you by taking risks should be promoted. Maybe you could address that issue because you are so Knowledgeable! I look to you for clarity and to interpret the Bible on specific matters like this. Thank you and God bless!

    1. Awww – I love hearing about your journey and homeschooling. Regarding wearing masks…I’m not really comfortable speaking on that topic. I feel like everyone’s puzzle is so different that I can’t really say. Some of us are in the high risk category or live with someone in the high risk category – so we need to be careful. Some of us live out in the country where there are hardly any cases or are in the low risk category. So they don’t need to be as cautious. Some of us already had it and now are immune. So everyone needs to make this decision for themselves or follow their state mandates.

You said in your comment that you looked to me for clarity to interpret the Bible on a specific matter like this – but there is nothing like this in the Bible – so that is why I can’t really speak to it. I do believe we should have the freedom to worship together with sisters and brothers in Christ and each should have the freedom to make that choice to do so based on our own puzzle (high risk, low risk etc.).

If you want to know what our lives look like right now – my kids wear their masks all day in school and I wear my mask at the store and into restaurants. That is the mandate here in Ohio. We still have get togethers in our homes with family and friends and that is without masks and usually outdoors but sometimes it is indoors and I am not worried about getting this virus. We are careful but if I get it – like any other difficulty in life, I’m trust God to see me through.

      Hope that helps,
      Courtney 🙂

  2. I love when we get a video from you! Adds an extra boost to my day! ????

The message was right on point and filled with such godly truths! How important it is to be reminded that our time here is, but a vapor.

Thank you for taking the time in making the videos!

They, and you, are greatly appreciated!! ????????????

  3. This is a great video Courtney! One I wish could be shared outside the GMG group! There is so much in it that I feel the whole world needs to hear right now that the time is so short until His return! Thanks so much for this study! God bless you!

  4. Thank you Courtney for this sobering reminder. I can speak for myself when I say that although I am a Christian and live as a Christian I don’t always live for God. There is more I can do for His glory. Everything I do should be for Him and should be pleasing to Him. Thanks for this reminder. I look forward to next week’s video and study.

  5. Thank you Courtney for the bible study and video. I can always use some encouragement. I thank God for the peace he has given me.
    Hugs and Peace ????????
