Good Morning Girls Resources {Leviticus 11-15}

GMG Resources Leviticus 11-15

Welcome back to Week 3 in the Book of Leviticus.  This week we cross the half way point!  Hooray! This week’s reading is difficult. I know I keep saying this – but it’s the truth. This is by far the driest week of all our reading in Leviticus. So if you have been struggling – I am praying for you because this week is really going to test your perseverance. This week we will look at:  Chapter 11: Clean and Unclean Food Chapter 12: Purification After Childbirth Chapter 13: Regulations About Infectious Skin Diseases & Mildew Chapter 14: Cleansing from Infectious […]

Exalt God as Holy in a Culture that Considers Him Casually {Leviticus 10}

Exalt God as Holy

We live in a culture that considers God and His word – casually. Let’s take a look at Leviticus 9 and 10 and see how God responds to two men who did the same. It was a huge day.  Aaron had done all the Lord commanded and made an offering before the Lord that had been accepted.  Leviticus 9:23,24 says: The glory of the Lord appeared to all the people and the fire, from the Lord, consumed the offering.  When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces!  Awesome!   ************ Then as Leviticus 10 begins, […]

Good Morning Girls Resources {Leviticus 6-10}

GMG Resources Leviticus 6-10

Welcome back to Week 2 in the Book of Leviticus. You did it! You completed week 1 and it wasn’t that hard right? Remember, the title “Leviticus” means, matters of the Levites.  The Tribe of Levi (also known as Levites) were the priestly tribe of Israel. Leviticus is God’s instructions to the priests on how to assist Israel in worship and living a holy life. Just a reminder, we will see ceremonial and civil laws that are not meant for us to practice in our lives so we must be very careful with our applications of this book.  The key points we […]

When Life Knocks You Down. Get Up! {Leviticus 1-5}

When Life Knocks You Down Get Up

When I was a child, one of our favorite family dinners was my mom’s BBQ Beef Stew.  I remember my dad would come through the door from work and say the smell made his mouth water.  It was that good!  I always make mine in the crock pot and as it cooks all day – the house is filled with this amazing aroma. What is your favorite smell?  Perhaps a rose or fresh baked bread, pine trees, a camp fire or your husband’s cologne. In Leviticus chapters 1-5,  we see this phrase repeated over and over in every chapter: “it […]

Introduction to Leviticus {Resources for Chapters 1-5}

1 Leviticus It's all about worship

Welcome to the Introduction of the Book of Leviticus. This is going to be a challenging book to study but we cannot skip it. For those who were with us for our study in the book of Exodus, you may well remember reading chapter after chapter after chapter of God’s commands to Israel on how to build the tabernacle. Leviticus picks up right where the book of Exodus ended, so chronologically, we must do Leviticus next. The title “Leviticus” means, matters of the Levites.  The Tribe of Levi (also known as Levites) were the priestly tribe of Israel. Leviticus is […]

It’s Friday…But Sunday’s Coming {Reflections on the Cross}

It's Friday but Sunday's Coming

{For those following this week’s Good Morning Girls Bible Reading plan – I am skipping ahead to next week’s reading in Matthew because of Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday this weekend.} We have come to a place of holy ground. (Exodus 3:5) A time to quiet our souls. The cross is the ONLY reason I blog, pin, youtube, tweet, instragram and facebook. Because Jesus shed His blood for me and He shed His blood for you. And so as I read of Jesus going before Pilate and Herod – I am simply still – in awe of how Jesus stood […]

When No One Notices or Says Thank You {Matthew 20}

When No one notices or says thank you

  As I walk into my daughter’s bedroom, I pick up dirty laundry from the floor. I carry it to the bathroom chute and drop it in, then hang some towels and wipe up a toothpaste mess. I proceed into my son’s room for some straightening and then to my own. Downstairs, I empty 2 trashcans and a laundry basket and a suitcase from my husband’s business trip that week. Thousands of times, I’ve picked up dirty laundry, straightened towels and emptied trash cans – virtually unseen. Of course when I don’t do these things – everyone sees the overflowing […]

The Secret to Finding Rest {Matthew 11 & 12}

The Secret to Finding Rest

  I read somewhere that the Chinese pictograph for busy is two characters -a heart and killing. Isn’t that appropriate? The clock ticks fast everyday as I move from breakfast dishes, to lunch dishes, to dinner dishes and then back to breakfast time once again.  The calendar pages flip fast and before I know it we are saying “Happy New Year” once again! And there at the end of the year, as I’m exhausted from holiday expectations…I feel it…the heart killing. And so hope is restored on January 1st.  When the slate feels clean and a new year begins.  The […]
