This is it! Our final week in the book of Luke!  These are some of the BEST chapters in the entire Bible – so DON’T miss this week’s reading!!!

This week we will read Luke chapters 21-24.  All of the resources for the last 4 days of study are below.

But first – for those who missed last Friday’s announcement – Good Morning Girls is going on an extended break.  There will be no spring or summer study (and most likely – no fall).  For more details about this – please read Friday’s post —-> HERE.

If you completed the book of 1 Samuel with us – you may want to do 2 Samuel on your own.

The 2 Samuel Journal is available now exclusively on Amazon!

For more resources and ideas of things you could study during this time – go to Friday’s post —-> here or check out all the free resources to our past Bible Studies on the GMG Resources Page HERE.

Now back to this week!

Here is this week’s Bible Reading Plan:

Here are this week’s Reflection & Discussion Questions

{If you do not have a group, use these for a personal time of reflection.}:

Chapter 21

Nothing in this world will last forever. We must not depend on the words we hear, the things we read or the possessions we own to sustain us. It is God’s Word that is powerful and eternal. His Words will last forever!

Do you find yourself tempted to substitute the words of this world for the Words of God? How can you make God’s Word more of a priority in your life?

Chapter 22

Every time we wake up and forget to talk to Jesus – we have forgotten. Every time we give into temptation and sin – we have forgotten. Every time we become independent of God and live life on our own terms – we have forgotten. Taking communion helps us to remember. We remember Jesus’ broken body and blood spilled out, for us.

Have you forgotten or grown numb to the truth of what Jesus did for you on the cross? Take some time right now and remember.

(If you are not a part of a local church where you are practicing the Lord’s Supper on a regular basis – please make the decision to find a church today.)

Chapter 23

Jesus knew that those who crucified him were spiritually blind. They did not know what they were doing and he offered love to his enemies, just as he commands us to love our enemies.

Is there a spiritually blind person in your life, who has hurt you and who you need to forgive? This does not mean that you will be reconciled with them. For reconciliation, repentance is required. But forgiveness frees you from bitterness and resentment. Who do you need to forgive today?

Chapter 24

Some of the most beautiful words in scripture are these: “He is not here, but has risen.” This is what sets Jesus apart, from all other religions in history. You can search every grave but you will not find him there. Jesus lived a sinless life and death had no grip on him. Our God is alive!

Because Jesus is alive, our passions, our priorities, our plans and our past times should look different. How has Jesus changed your life?

The Verses of the Day:

I encourage you to choose which verse you’d like to memorize or meditate on.  The printable below includes all 5 verses of the day — for the entire week!  Print and cut them out and put them in the bathroom, kitchen, beside your bed and computer and use them for meditation throughout the week.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8

  1. Luke 21:10 We are living in end times. The signs are all around us. We must stop and listen and be aware, not just keep going about our lives, like in the days of Noah. It warns us what to look for and what to do and what not to do. The birth pains are getting closer together, when we were younger we didn’t hear of so much violence and lawlessness as the age we live in now. It’s going to grow colder and more unloving. Even believers will turn on each other it warns. But only he who stands firm until the end, gains eternal life. But I must be honest, I asked God why will it have to get so bad and be so hard to get to heaven? How can I not get scared when I hear the news each day of terrorism in every country now? Nation will rise up against nation on a massive scale because of this. The weather is unpredictable. People are unloving and gossips and haters .And I asked God, maybe he should take me before it gets worse, I don’t want to stick around for the ending. And then I don’t want to be left wondering what happened to my children and family. Yet I know he says to trust him and worrying is a sin because it’s the opposite of trust. Let’s be in constant prayer for our world, and each other to grow so much in the Lord that we will gain eternal life in the end. To do this some things that take up too much of our time and not have much impact on our eternity, need to get put aside. And God will take care of us. Amen.

  2. Was looking forward to 2 Samuel but don’t buy anything from internet. If Courtney is amenable, would someone with the book post the questions here?? Thanks

  3. Courtney, you have truly been an inspiration to me. I am sorry that you are hurting right now, but GOD heals all wounds. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, Exodus 14:13. I will miss you. Godspeed.
