2 Samuel

In 1 Samuel we saw David as the people’s choice but in 2 Samuel we will see him as God’s choice. It displays the heart of David –both the good and the bad as a father and king, while also displaying God’s grace and judgment. We are all capable of falling into many sins. Even when we have a heart hot for Jesus, we are susceptible to temptation. David’s example of giving into temptation is a warning to all of us. We must be on guard and never think we are above falling.
Despite David’s flaws, David enjoyed the blessings of the Lord and in Acts 13:22 God said of him:
‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
