In Case You Missed the First Announcement: Good Morning Girls Are On An Extended Break

In Case You Missed The First Announcement:

Good Morning Girls are on an extended break and this is why…

For those who have followed the Good Morning Girls Bible studies for many years, you know that I usually announce the January study in the middle of December.

So here I am – only there is no January study to announce… I’m so so sorry. 🙁

The Bible has 66 books in it.

Do you know how many books of the Bible
the Good Morning Girls have studied together?

33

We have read HALF of the Bible together –
verse by verse, chapter by chapter and book by book.

These are the books we have completed so far: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Hosea, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, and James!
You can find ALL of the links to past studies on the GMG Resources Page.

So I’m taking a Half-Time Break

I shared this in a previous blog post but I want to be sure no one missed it because it was tucked inside of an announcement for my new devotional titled 52 Weeks in the Word.

So in case you missed that post – I have decided to take a half-time break to focus on a few things in my life:

1.) My daughter Alexis is a senior and about to graduate.

I am currently the Varsity Cheer coach at her school again this year and games have begun! There are over 20 basketball games in the season to attend. So the pace of life has picked up. I want to be sure to savor this final year with Alexis before she leaves for college with her brother at Liberty University.

2.) I’m planning a wedding!!! I will be getting married this summer – July 2023. So there is a lot of work to prepare to celebrate the big day! I also have to throw a graduation dinner party for Alexis – so they’ll be TWO big celebrations this summer back to back.

This was the first dress I tried on. I chose a different one. 😉

3.) We built a new home! There is so much to do with packing this home and selling it and preparing the new home to move in.

4.) I’m writing a book!!! As if I need more new things on my plate (Lol! 🙂 ) – I have signed a contract with a publisher and am writing a book! I can’t wait to share more about this in the future. This book is due to the publisher this spring, so I will be writing through the months of January, February and March.

So while I am gone, my NEWLY released devotional
52 Weeks in the Word
would be great to do on your own or with friends!

This is PERFECT for the NEW Year!!

Check it out!

52 Weeks in the Word: Your Guide for
Reading the Bible Carefully
Studying it Prayerfully &
Living it out Practically

Packed with 52 weeks of content, this practical resource will equip you with all you need to read the Bible carefully, study it prayerfully, and then live it out practically.

Each week’s entry contains a four-page spread that includes the following:

Scripture to Study: This section includes the chapter of the week along with the main focus verse that will be explored in-depth.

Read it Carefully: This space includes ample room to write out the verse for yourself and then circle or highlight any keywords, jotting down initial thoughts about the scripture. It also gives you a few other corresponding scriptures on the same or a related topic.

Study it Prayerfully: This section contains content meant to help clarify the meaning of the scripture with commentary on the biblical context. There is also a call-out portion that highlights the Hebrew or Greek meaning of a word in the passage that helps to make the original intended meaning come alive. Finally, there is a “My Prayer to God” section where a prayer prompt is provided to enable you to craft a personal prayer on the topic of the passage being studied.

Live it Out Practically: This section repeats the highlighted verse of the week again and contains a few practical application questions. It is meant to help you implement the directives discovered in your study into your everyday life and relationships. There is also a “Where I Saw God Today” section to record how you saw God working in your life that week or to list something you are thankful for. Finally, there is a second blank bordered section entitled “Where I Need God Today,” where you may jot down a prayer request or two.

A Look Inside

This beautifully designed study guide will inspire you, equip you, and allow you to experience a deeper and more consistent walk with God for an entire year!

How is this different from other WLW journals?

  1. This journal is 52 Weeks long.
  2. This journal does not use the SOAK method.  It includes a chapter and verse for the week, thoughts and reflections on that verse in its biblical context,  application questions for the week and space to write your weekly prayers.
  3. I will not be leading this as a Bible Study on-line.  But you can do it with friends and use the weekly reflection questions as a discussion question.
  4. This journal was written alongside my two dear friends from MyMentorshipCourses.com — best selling authors -> Karen Ehman and Ruth Schwenk.

So when will Good Morning Girls studies return?

Once I am married and both kids are moved into their dorms next fall – I will be right back here refreshed and ready to finish the second half of the Bible. I already have the next 2 books of the Bible ready to go for us – but I am afraid I do not have the time to lead them and lead them well.

I cannot wait to be back! I LOVE God’s word and love taking this journey with you. I will return! This is my life’s work, my calling and my passion.

So while I am gone, 52 Weeks in the Word
would be great to do on your own or with friends!

52 Weeks in the Word will keep you accountable all year long.

It is available exclusively on Amazon.

I also encourage you to go back and finish any books of the Bible you have missed. There is plenty of time for you to complete 5-7 books before next fall!

Love you all!
Keep walking with the King,
Courtney

  4. Courtney,
You have been a blessing to me for so many years. I first found you while raising toddlers and watching you on the Rachel Ray Show. I’ve been using your material ever since. I’m so glad you are taking a moment for this season of your life. I rejoice with you at the blessings God has bestowed upon you. I can’t wait for your return & to read your 2nd book(?). Thank you for teaching me how to study God’s Word and encouraging me to make that my daily food. It has been a treasure to me and I have you to thank for all the encouragement!
    May God Bless you!
    Your Sister in Christ,

  5. I have followed your Bible studies since 2012. Your messages have helped me to better understand God’s word. You have an excellent way of explaining verses. Enjoy this season of life and soak it all in! Looking forward to this fall’s Bible study! Thank you for all that you do!

  6. Courtney I wanted to thank you for listening to the Lord and following what he has for you! This fall I had been feeling a very strong pull to do a one year Bible study. I had already decided that I was not going to do the GMG winter study because I needed something a year long. I didn’t even know you had published this one but somehow came across it on Amazon 2 weeks ago. I have it and have been sitting in Hebrews 5 since then waiting for the new year to start! The Lord has made all things fall into place right when I needed them. So thank you so much for this! I’m so excited for all the things you get to do this spring! I’ll be here when you return! Blessings!

  7. Courtney,
I have wanted to write to you to thank you for sometime now. I started with GMG during the the 1st Samuel study. I was connected with women from around the world. Of our email group of 10-12, Two of the ladies and I continued emailing after the study ended. We have held each other accountable, encouraged, and prayed for one another. We have gone through so many books of the Bible, using the SOAK method! We’ve been with each other through thick and thin. I can’t imagine going through life without them. Thank you for helping us connect with not only each other, but with our Father. God bless as you enter this busy season and exciting time of your life!
