10 Years Later: Still Standing Book Trailer

If we’ve never met – welcome!
My name is Courtney Joseph Fallick.

I began blogging in 2008.
So I’ve been writing at WomenLivingWell.org for over 15 years.

Yesterday, I sat down to record the Trailer for my second book. As I considered what to say about the book, I felt like I owed my readers, who have been here a long time, to mention my first book.

It’s an awkward conversation to have considering that my first book was about finding joy in your walk with God, marriage, parenting and home. But a few years after my first book released, — my husband of 19 years — left me for another woman, my home was broken and I became a single mom.

Life became heavy and hard.

I wrestled with embarrassment and shame and these are some of the thoughts that ran through my mind recorded in chapter 8 of my new book:

Shame on me for not being a good enough wife to be able to keep my husband. Shame on me for not realizing he was being unfaithful. How in the world did I miss the red flags? Shame on me for taking him back over and over and letting him repeat his unfaithfulness to me. Shame on me for getting a divorce. You know God hates divorce. Shame on me for isolating myself and not going to Sunday school or connecting with the church body when I knew that I should be connecting and serving.

Shame will take you down the darkest road of your life if you let it. It will suffocate you if you do not break free. How do I know? Because I felt it with every fiber of my being. For almost two years straight, I sat (every Sunday morning) at that coffee shop alone, hiding in my shame.

Still Standing, chapter 8

It took me a long time to get the courage to write this second book – 10 whole years, but it’s time.

Join me on today’s video as I talk about my first book and what parts of it I would take back 10 years later and learn about my new book titled Still Standing: How to Live in God’s Light While Wrestling With the Dark.

(If the video is not showing for you – CLICK HERE to view it)

One thing I have learned is that sometimes the darkness does not let up.  It will fill every crack and crevice it can and so we must let God’s light shine into those dark places where we hide in our hurt so that we can be free and whole.

I want to personally invite you to take this journey with me – as we push back the darkness and stand strong in the light of the Lord!

Rise up.
Stand firm.
Let nothing move you.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you.”
1 Corinthians 15:58

Keep walking with the King,

  1. Excited to receive your new material.Your previous works have been a major blessing in my life. Praise God you’re still standing and victorious enough to help others. Bless you!

  2. Yay!! I was there 10+ years ago following you before all the darkness fell. And yes, I have been through a lot of darkness and still trying to push it back and find the joy in living with so many problems, challenges and evils in life. I can’t wait to read your new book. I am tired of despair. I’m tired of the evil one stealing my joy. I’m tired of the lies of Satan. I’m trying, but I’ve been trying alone and I need to know how to “walk WITH the King”. Thank you so much, Courtney and God bless you!
