Now’s the time!
This is a four week study.
I have divided each chapter into a few sections.
So we will go through this book of the Bible more slowly than others.
For those who have been following the Good Morning Girls Bible Studies โ you know that we studied Ezra and Nehemiah (from the Old Testament) last winter. So Iโm excited to get back into the New Testament and complete Colossians!
What is Colossians all about?
The Book of Colossians is both deeply theological and deeply practical. Sometimes we can lean too hard one way or the other.
We may get so deep theologically that our faith becomes philosophical or we get so caught up in looking for practical instruction that we miss the foundation that our day to day life is to be built upon.
This book is going to challenge us in both areas.
Colossians is an important letter written by Paul to the church in Colossae, located in Asia Minor. Though he had never traveled to this prosperous town; he established his authority as an apostle of Jesus Christ right from the start, as he sought to draw the church back to the true gospel.
Paulโs purpose in writing this letter is to warn the church of the dangers of following false teaching that weakens the foundation of our identity in Jesus Christ and prevents proper spiritual maturity. He encourages them to battle courageously against sin and grow as mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

We are Reading Through the Bibleโ one chapter a day โ five days a week.
There are no sign-ups or enrollments.
We are reading through the Bible, switching back and forth between the New Testament and the Old Testament.
So far we have completed 36 books of the Bible:
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Hosea, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and James! How do I enroll for this study?
There is no enrollment required but I encourage you to subscribe to the blog.
What is Good Morning Girls?
โGood Morning Girlsโ is a title for a group of women who meet in real life or use email, Facebook, or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times.
Do I have to have a Good Morning Girls Group to join the Bible Study?
No. You can do this study without a group on your own.
How Do I Start a Good Morning Girls accountability group?
Invite some of your friends to join you. Pray about who from your church, Bible study group, family, neighborhood or workplace would be a good fit. Groups that are smaller generally work better โ 4-12 is a good number especially for email and text messaging groups. Facebook groups can go quite a bit larger and still work.
Once I have a group, what do I do?
Either create a Facebook Group where you can all discuss your daily reading and reflection questions or create an email group and email the group daily. You could also use text messaging or meet in person weekly in your home, at your church or at a coffee shop.

Yes, around one week before we begin, I will invite women with open groups to leave links to their facebook groups or email groups, in the comment section here on the blog. So please stop back on that day to look for a group!
