When Christ Is Your Life, Your Life Will Look Different (Colossians 3)
In today’s video, I talk about my dilemma with which jeans to wear (and I’ll share some pictures of me in my jeans lol!) – my old skinny jeans, mom jeans, wide leg jeans or the oversized baggy look?
To be honest, I love my old jeans but fashions change and sometimes we have to bag up old stuff and throw it out.
Now I know you all probably don’t care which jeans I wear BUT this is what I love about this week’s reading in Colossians chapter 3. Paul is telling believers “what not to wear” and “what to wear” only he is not referring to our clothes but rather behaviors that identify us as believers. These behaviors change the way we look!
When Christ is your life, your life will look different.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
Colossians 3:12-14
When we ALL do this collectively the church community will look SO different from the world. We will truly be a beacon of light shining in the darkness. But so many of us are wearing the old stuff – our comfy clothes and we don’t want to let it go.
Friends, we can’t control how everyone in the church community lives but we do have control over one person – ourselves.
May we choose to be the difference.
Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
Colossians 3:10
This past week in our study of Colossians we renewed our knowledge.
Now it’s time – to put on all of these beautiful virtues! You look stunning in them!
