TWISTED SCRIPTURE or Timeless Truth? (JEREMIAH 29:11 – GOD HAS A PLAN)

Jeremiah 29:11 - Twisted Scripture or Timeless Truth?

🍒 Have you ever heard of cherry picking scripture?

On today’s video, we’re talking about what cherry picking is, why it’s dangerous and the 4 Core Beliefs (aka LIES) of the Prosperity Gospel. (🤦‍♀️ Yes – I’m going there!)

We are going to take a close look at one of the most popular verses in the Bible — Jeremiah 29:11, which says:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

There is a lot of Christian merchandise with Jeremiah 29:11 printed on it BUT what does it really mean? Does it really apply to us or has it been cherry picked?

Are we twisting scripture or is it a timeless truth?

📖 🎥 Join me for Week 4’s video of our Jeremiah study as we determine – is this scripture being twisted or is it a timeless truth?

May the Lord find us faithful as we study his word and “rightly divide it.”

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

I can’t wait to begin the 5th and final week of our Bible study in Jeremiah together!

Keep on going!!! 💯

Until then – Keep walking with the King!

  1. From this post I get that you are Reformed and I am so, so sorry. It is false teaching to the core. I certainly do not agree with their stand on this verse. Please don’t be misled.

    1. Hi R!

I’m not sure what you mean? But absolutely we never want to be misled by anyone’s teaching. We must always read the Bible for ourselves verse by verse and chapter by chapter and understand it in its context. That is what we are doing here at Women Living Well. We are reading through the Bible cover to cover and studying it for ourselves. It is such a joy! We are 37 books of the Bible in – so this video is a part of that series and this week’s video is based on this week’s study of scripture not anyone else’s teachings. Hope that helps.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney 🙂
