Week 1 โ Hidden With Him
As we begin to slow down this week, may we experience a sort of reset — where our minds are reset on the things above rather than the things of this earth.
To be hidden with Christ is to find safety in His shadow, peace in His presence, and strength in the quiet places away from the noise of this world. As we enter our personal secret place, we discover that stillness is not emptinessโit is where God meets us, renews us, and becomes our steady refuge.
So letโs get started! I invite you to commit to giving the Lord 15 minutes a day to follow through on the scripture readings, prayers and challenges in this study. Godโs Word is alive and active! He will transform you as you turn to his son Jesus, the one who laid his life down for you on the cross, so you can lay your life down and find rest in Him.
๐ฏ๏ธ Week 1 – Challenge
Go buy an extra-large candle and light your candle every day in your home. Each time the glimmer of the candle catches your eye, slow down, pray and give thanks.
I will be starting mine in the morning but you can start yours at dinner time or whenever is convenient for you. I will be placing mine in the kitchen โ the main hub of my home. Letโs make our homes feel like a warm hug and a sweet haven all month long!
When we do not take the time to tend to our own souls โ we have nothing left to give to others.
So many times I have found myself busy and running on empty and then I snap โ in a moment of frustration and weariness I say or do things that I would never do if I was more rested and connected with the Lord.
๐ And so this month โ letโs be intentional!

Give thanks to God for both the big and small blessings in your life.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.

Very excited for this study again this year!
I’ve been praying for your family.
Praying for you and your family as well this morning. ((hug))
Adding you and your husband to my prayer list!
I love studying with you Courtney. I’ve followed you for 12+ years. I feel like we’re old friends, and it feels good to hear from you again. Thanks for continuing these studies. Prayers continue for you and yours. God bless you!
I had various places built into the garden thinking they’d be perfect for prayer and Bible study but none felt right and I even found them distracting! I also purchased a beautiful cosy armchair for my “study” but my attention wandered around the pretty items in the room instead of staying focussed on my Bible, etc. So I’m back at my kitchen table where I started, lol. I think losing all distractions helps me to stay focussed. Also comfy but not too comfy or warm or else I fall asleep. My kitchen chair is firm, keeps me upright and that seems just right for me. I definitely believe we need to find our regular “prayer closet”, but it can also be anywhere in an emergency.
Thank you Courtney for all you have done through the years. I have followed you for many and enjoy all the studies. Honestly, I don’t have just one. Many times it’s in the reclainer after dinner or on the bed before sleep were I study and pray. During warmer weather and I’m home, it’s on the front porch in the lounge. But if we are at the lake, it’s sitting on the porch or the dock. Being in God’s creation brings me peace and opens my mind.
My “secret” place is my daughter’s chair in my sitting room. I get up before anyone else to spend time in prayer and Bible reading and devotionals. I love the time alone with God. Gets me started on the right “foot”.
I have been praying for you and your husband. I understand your struggles. My husband was diagnosed with MM almost 3 yrs ago and has been in remission for 2yrs. This came just less than a year after I lost my daughter to tongue cancer. I agree with you…why would i leave God? He is the only rock! He kept me standing when I felt I couldn’t function. I don’t know how people go through “refining” trials without HIM!
I don’t know what i did wrong I ordered twice and was billed twice and did not get my book. Please help me
Hi Jane – I’m sorry this happened ๐ Did you order off of Etsy? Please email me at [email protected] and I will refund you.
I am just now starting this study, a couple weeks late! But was directed here by another woman. Please help me by praying for my marriage and family. I am starting this study and hoping to get closer to God and take the time to allow him to give me peace and strength. Ty for all that you do to help women in their walks of faith.
