Do You Do These 7 things?: Colossians 2

Welcome back to week 2 in the book of Colossians! 🤗

In chapter 2, Paul warns the church at Colossae that worldly philosophies would come at them, that could pull them away from truth.

I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments.
Colossians 2:4

With all the social media and online “influencers” these days, I believe our next generation is in danger of the same. We need to know God’s word well so that when ideas that seem “plausible” come at us, we are able to have discernment.

We must not be deceived by the world,
but rather stand strong on the word.

Join me on today’s video as we review our reading in Colossians chapter 2 and we take a look at 7 Things Every Believer Must Do to Remain Firm in their Faith.

Is there anything in your life that is opening you up to wrong thoughts and ideas?

• Are you discouraged?

• Are you lonely?
  
• Do you skip church regularly?

• Are you unsure of your salvation in Christ?

• Is your knowledge of God and theology shallow?

• Is your faith easily shaken?

• Are you bitter at God?

If the answer to any of these questions above is yes, then you are in danger of being captivated by worldly deception.

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.
Colossians 2:8

My hope is that you would listen to the video above and put into practice the 7 things Paul told the church at Colossae to do — so that you would remain firm in your faith.

For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2:5
