Will You Choose the World or the Word? (Jeremiah 2:13)
โ๏ธ ๐ค Good Morning Girls! I am so excited to be back in Godโs Word together again! If you fell behind in your reading this week, no worries, just catch up on the weekends.
๐ ๐ฃ As you began your study this week in Jeremiah, I think you can already see that this is a very deep book and it’s not going to be an easy read – so I am here to cheer you on — ALLLLLLL the way to the end!
So let’s dig in!
Jeremiah chapter 2 is a very unique portion of scripture, where we see the broken heart of the Lord as God speaks to Israel like a husband would to a wife that has committed adultery and been unfaithful.
Anyone who has been betrayed by a spouse, or a friend or a child will understand the Lordโs pain we see here in this passage.

In Jeremiah 2:13 God says:
My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
There are two wells we can drink from:
- The Lord – the spring of living water.
- The world – which offers broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
Which well are you choosing every day?
Oh I hope the Lord! The Lord is a spring of fresh and living waters for our souls.ย Everyday we can drink from this living well and live well!
This is what the ministry here at Women Living Well is ALL about!
God is our ultimate source of refreshment. If we seek it anywhere else โ we will come up empty. And so the conclusion for today is this:
We have a choice.
Do not choose the wrong well.
