πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“ When Tassels Turn and Seasons Shift

Last Weekend Was A Weekend to Remember!

Last weekend I traveled from Ohio to Virginia to the campus of Liberty University. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing University! There I was surrounded by thousands of godly families watching both of my children walk across the graduation stageβ€”summa cum laudeβ€”and receive their degrees.

Over the years, I’ve sat on a lot of bleachers cheering for my kids and now there I was…for the last time…clapping and cheering for them as they walked across the stage.

✨ Alexis β€“ Bachelor’s in Communications: Strategic Marketing πŸ“£πŸ’‘
✨ Alexis’ fiancΓ© β€“ Also graduated with a degree in Business Financial Planning πŸ’°πŸ“ˆ

πŸ’ And if that wasn’t exciting enough…

But it wasn’t just the diplomas or the honors that stirred something deep in my heart. It was the realization that a chapter has closed. A long, beautiful, stretching, sanctifying chapter of motherhood has come to an endβ€”and a new one is beginning.

The Quiet Letting Go

For years, we pour into our childrenβ€”bandaging scraped knees, staying up late to help with homework, praying over them in the dark, cheering them on at every milestone. And then, suddenly, we find ourselves sitting in a stadium seat, watching them step into their futures.

It’s a strange mix of emotions: overwhelming joy, gratitude, a few tears, and a quiet letting go.

As a mom, that letting go is never easy.

We want to hold onβ€”to keep protecting, guiding, and hovering just close enough to help. But this season calls for trust. Trust that the same God who has been faithful in our parenting is the same God who will be faithful in their becoming.

He Goes Before Them

We are no longer the ones setting their alarm clocks, helping them pack for school, or reminding them to turn in their assignments. We are now the ones cheering from a distance, praying behind the scenes, and trusting God to lead them forward.

And here’s the beautiful part: HE WILL.

God’s plans for our children don’t end at graduation. In fact, they’re just beginning.

The same God who held them through childhood, who taught them through trials, who opened doors for education and opportunityβ€”is the One who goes before them into every new season.

A Word to the Mamas

So, to the mamas who are watching tassels turn and seasons shift: take heart.

You may feel a little tender, a little nostalgic, maybe even a little lost. That’s okay. You’ve poured out your heart in loveβ€”and now it’s time to rest in the One who holds their future and yours.

Isaiah 26:3
“He keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.”

Finding Rest in the Psalms

This summer, as I slow down and let these moments settle into my soul, I’m spending time in the Psalmsβ€”soaking in God’s faithfulness, one verse at a time.

If you’re walking through transition or simply longing for peace in the waiting, I’d love to invite you to join me. πŸ” πŸ“– My Summer in the Psalms word search journals were created for seasons just like thisβ€”where the heart needs stillness, and the soul needs truth.

There’s something peaceful about resting in Scripture, one puzzle, one Psalm, one prayer at a time.

Because whether we’re raising littles or releasing grown children into the world, one thing remains true: God is with us in every season. πŸ™Œ
