My Month at a Glance

I can’t believe it’s the last Friday of April already! These months are flying by!

So here’s my month at a glance (if you follow me on Instagram – most likely you’ve seen many of these photos).

Last month we took a vacation and celebrated the kid’s birthdays there.  So when we got home – we celebrated the kid’s 9th and 11th birthdays with extended family. This was their cake.

I also had a WONDERFUL weekend with some of my FAVORITE bloggers!  Karen Ehman was in town from Michigan (giving me bunny ears – stinker!!!) with her assistant Kim and they joined the Ohio Bloggers (Clare – Peak313.com, Ruth – TheBetterMom.com and Janelle – ComfyintheKitchen.com) for a weekend of fellowship and fun.

Alex went on a road trip with Daddy to pick up some oil with their semi.

Here Alex is learning “How to Properly Strap on a Load 101”  Lol!

The joys of homeschooling 🙂 !

And then there were sad goodbyes over at GoodMorningGirls.org when I shared I will no longer be a part of the writing team. After much prayer and wrestling with God, I have a peace that it is time I step away from this ministry. It is a ministry I will miss deeply but I feel so blessed to have been a part of.  Are you a GMG?  I love you guys!!! Stay in God’s word and keep pressing on!

Then there was Easter!  Hooray!

HE IS RISEN!!

There were resurrection rolls!

And Easter baskets, church and worship!

And family photos!

And time spent with my built in best friends – my sisters.

Easter Sisters

Friends, I share my life with you because I want to do life open…but I don’t want to ever portray a perfect life.  Behind closed doors there are hard things I face every.single.month –hurts, tragedies, burdens and worries that threaten to swallow me up.  I don’t have pictures for this war within my mind and heart but often they come out as I write months and years later after I have processed them.  If you are facing hard things today – remember this truth:

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:37-39

  2. I love Lexi’s dress! Gorgeous. Glad you had some fun on vacation, and those salads look so yummy. I just love your update posts – it is so refreshing to see a woman of God enjoying her family and making wonderful memories with them. Keep up the good work, and keep pressing on even when it’s hard – you are more of a blessing than you’ll ever know! 🙂 Lauren

  3. Thank you for being a shining example to all of us! You continue to be a blessing and encourager to me and to many other mommies!! We are more than conquerors!!! XOXO

  4. Thanks for sharing a part of you and your family with us. Beautiful family and home. The family that prays, works and shares together stays together.

    Blessings and peace to you.

  5. Courtney, I’ve been reading your blog and have been a GMG member for the past 3 years. Thank you for sharing your faith and encouraging women. You have been a blessing in my life! 🙂

  6. Good Morning!!! I love reading your blog! I have been following for a couple months and love all the encouraging words you write! I wanted to stop by today to let you know my husband also drives truck and I am truly blessed to be able to ride with him!! Hoping you have a great weekend and thanks for all you do 🙂

  7. Courtney, I love your blog and love when you share your family photos! I was so burdened when you shared some of the hurtful comments people write to you! I told my husband about it and he found it curious that those “haters” of yours still took the time to read and follow you! That tells us that God IS working on their hearts. You are now in my prayers more then ever, now that I see the opposition you face each day. Just know how much you inspire me to be a better wife and to walk with the King everyday!! Thank you!

  8. Thank you for sharing this Courtney! It’s easy to forget you have struggles because I see so many encouraging wonderful things happening in your life. I want to become a mom. I want to be a stay at home mom if God blesses me with a baby. I am going through some hard things and I just read the very Scripture you quoted yesterday on my lunch break. I think God wants to enforce this Scripture for me! I am always encouraged by what you share.

  9. Courtney,
I love your website and appreciate the words you write here. I know that you seek to do the Lords will, and it is an encouragement to me. Would you consider writing a post about your brothers and sisters in the middle east? Have you heard what is happening to christians in Syria and Iraq and Saudi Arabia and Nigeria and others? The church has been utterly devastated in these places and western christians have largely remained silent. christian women specifically have been the victim of rape, genital mutilation and other atrocities. In Nigeria, the Islamic group Boko Haram recently kidnapped a group of 187 Nigerian girls. God only knows what is happening to them. In Syria, the christians are literally being crucified, their heads cut off and played with in the street like soccer balls. We western christians cannot be silent about this. We MUST pray. I hope you will pray and also perhaps consider posting about your brothers and sisters.
    Hilary
