Introducing Our Summer Bible Study and Something New!

oin Good Morning Girls as we read through the Bible cover to cover one chapter a day. Here all of the information you need for the GMG summer Bible study. #Biblestudy #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

Summer is almost here and I am SO excited to announce our next study!

This Bible study is like NONE we have ever done here at Women Living Well.

My mom and I have worked together to create an in-depth Bible study of my favorite book of the Bible – Ecclesiastes!  This means we have done the background work and have written a verse by verse guide through this book.  It includes cross references to the New Testament, application questions and discussion questions so you can do this with a group if you choose.  Every Friday, I will record a video for you and post it here.

We begin our study in the the Book of Ecclesiastes on Monday, June 13th!

This is a 6-week study that runs Mondays through Fridays, ending on July 22nd.

It is available on Amazon NOW!
Both in Paperback and on Kindle!

ecclesiastes-SPINEMy mom and I began this project 2 years ago – yes – 2 years ago!  My mom (Beverly Wise) did all the background work for me and some of the writing and then – I sat on it (so sorry) – too busy with life to work on the project.

This past fall, I dusted it off and completed it.  Then, we printed 20 copies and my mom led this study at our church with a group of 20 women as a test group this past winter!  They tweaked things for us and now it is all ready for you this summer!

This is not a journal – this is an in-depth Bible Study.

Here’s some pictures of the interior:

Here are the highlighters, pens and pencils I use:

Highlighters – Acid Free – Bible Hi-Glider
Fine Line Non-bleeding Pens – Micron Archival Ink and Multi-Colored Gel Pens
Colored Pencils – Crayola Twistables and Crayola Colored Pencils
I use the ESV Inductive Study Bible as my personal study Bible.

REGROUPING Begins on June 6th

We regroup here at GMG 3 times a year – summer, fall and winter.  You DO NOT have to have a group, to join our on-line Bible study.  But we strongly encourage you to invite a friend or 2 or 10 to join you as accountability partners.  You can email each other daily to share about your quiet times or use text messaging or meet weekly in person to discuss the discussion questions. Whatever works for you!

I can be your accountability partner every Monday and Friday here on the blog (and out on Instagram and Facebook) if you’d rather not be in a group.

There are no sign-ups, enrollments or subscriptions required to join us.  No hoops!

Watch for the announcement when regrouping begins – they’ll be open groups for you to join – it’s coming soon!

Accountability works in reaching our goals – the encouragement of others keeps us going on days when we’d rather quit!  Good Morning Girls will provide the accountability you need to soak in God’s word daily, grow in your walk with God and live well!

Mark your calendars!

Spread the Word!

Share this post with your friends!

Are you in?

I am so looking forward to the start of this study! Until then…

Walk with the King,

Courtney

The week of June 6th we will have Good Morning Girls groups open if you’d like to join one. If not – then join us back here on Monday, June 13th for the start of the study. Love,
        Courtney 🙂

        1. I just ordered my bible study workbook! I really look forward to starting my bible study with you 🙂

        2. Courtney,

Is there a place to find where we can join in one of the Good Morning Girls Groups? I would like to find a group on Facebook if possible. I always like to see what other women are getting from the reading and it helps me to dig deeper into the study.

          Thanks,
          April

          1. Hi April

I do highly recommend joining a group…the fellowship is fabulous! 🙂 On June 6th Courtney will list all of the groups available and you can sign up for one then.

  1. So excited for this. Thank you both for your investment of time to put this together. I am really looking forward to it. I really have not spent much time studying Ecclesiastics, so I am really excited.

I have really learned a lot in our study of the Pentateuch. I have been a believer a long time, Dad was a pastor, so I have read those books a thousand times. But just really sitting with and meditating on it slowly chapter by chapter has really impacted and really shown me the character of God in a deeper way. And has really generated I think a deeper love for God and a deeper intimacy with Him.

You are using your platform and gifts to make a difference for Christ Courtney. We really appreciate you.

  2. I am soooo excited to start the next Bible study on the book of Ecclesiastes, one of my favorite books. And I am extremely excited over the next one the book of James. I am really excited and looking forward to these studies. Yes! Hallelujah 🙂

  3. SO EXCITED! LOVE THIS IN-DEPTH ,LOVE IT .GOD IS GOOD! THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOU DO IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD! BLESSING UPON BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILES! t.

  4. It looks like an amazing study. I’m not sure I will be able to participate this time but may order it at a later date. Why is Ecclesiastes your favorite book? I think that’s the first time I’ve ever heard anyone say it was their favorite. I’ve really enjoyed Deuteronomy. May God continue to bless you and your ministry. ?

    1. Hi Tiffany,

Ecclesiastes became my favorite book of the Bible in college. I picked up a book titled “Chasing the Wind” and it was about the book of Ecclesiastes. I could not put this book down! The wisdom of the reminders that our lives are but a vapor – so live it well – live it for the Lord – is what I love about it. This world is not our home – we are just passing through. I hope that the simplicity and fullness that if offers will be a blessing to us all as we study it together.

So glad you are joining us!
      Courtney

      1. Hi Courtney, I’m looking for the book you mentioned, “Chasing the Wind”, but am not successful. Who is the author? Thanks, Miriam

        1. Hi Miriam – I just looked it up and there are a bunch of books with the same title but none of them are the book I read in college – it was so long ago (1994) so it’s probably out of print. My copy says it was written in 1974 – so it was old when I read it. Lol!

          So sorry!
          Courtney

          1. I think William MacDonald is the author. And it was published by Moody Publishers. I found it on Amazon but the description is for a different book with the same name. But I do think William MacDonald is the author.

          1. You are right that is the publisher and author of the book but the look inside feature makes it look like it is a different book on the inside…it’s like they used the wrong cover with a different book! Lol! So I don’t think this is the book I have…so sorry. I think it’s out of print? Thank you for trying!
            Courtney

  5. I am BEYOND excited for this study!! I’ve already purchased my study book from Amazon and now I just have to wait until it begins! Ecclesiastes is a beautiful book but has stumped me a few times. I’m very excited to go in-depth on it with this study. You and your mom are awesome for putting this together!!

  6. So, this is not really 1 chapter a day like the other books we have done, right? I have been using my own journal. But this looks like it’s way more in depth to take 6 weeks. I will look to ordering the Amazon journal.

      1. There are just 5 chapters in the book of James. So rather than reading it quickly in just one week – we are slowing it down and going to study it for 2 weeks –reading 1/2 chapter a day.

        🙂
        Courtney

    1. Hi Wendy- you are correct. We are slowing down for the summer and going a bit deeper into this book of the Bible – then come next fall- we will go back to one chapter a day and the SOAK method, for our daily reading.

So glad you are joining us!
      Courtney 🙂

      1. Awesome. I can’t wait for summer. We are starting Ecclesiastes the same day I start a new job. A time for every season.

  7. So excited for this! I think the fact you my mom and you did this together makes it more special. Can’t wait to get the book and get started.

  8. What will we be missing if we attempt the new in-depth bible study without purchasing the book?

    1. Hi Robyn,

The workbook offers a deeper look into each days Bible reading – almost as if I wrote a daily blog post here. It includes more teaching and more verses through out the Bible that bring depth. It includes multiple reflection questions a day to make us slow down and soak it in.

      Hope that helps,
      Courtney

  9. Courtney are you going to have something to print out for people like me who don’t have an account?I don’t like to do that. You always have papers we can print out if we don’t have a book.I also want one of your books is their another way I can get one?[WOMEN LIVING WELL].

    1. Hi Zinda,

Yes – the printable Bible Reading Plan, Verses of the Day and Discussion/Reflection Questions are coming soon. Every Monday I’ll be posting them here once the Bible Study begins on June 13th.

      Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  10. Ecclesiastes is among my favorite books of the Bible. I am excited for the study.

I had planned to include my boys (16 & 20) in a SOAK study while they were on summer vacation. Are the application questions and guide primarily written for women? I’m sure they would still get a great deal out of the study, but would become tired of questions about mothering, being a godly wife, etc.

Thank you for GMG! It has greatly blessed my walk with the king!

    1. Dear Valerie,

I love that you are including your boys!!! The interior of this study does not focus on Motherhood or being a wife since Ecclesiastes does not touch on that much…so your boys could do the study but I understand that the cover is a little girlie. Lol!

Another option would be for them to follow our Monday posts with the Bible reading plan for the week and the verses of the day and discussion questions and use the SOAK method in a journal of their own.

I’m so sorry about the switch up for the summer. We’ll be back to our normal methods and journals in the fall.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  11. I just found your site a few days ago; I ordered the study guide around 2 am last night! I’m a 49 year old pastor’s daughter who just graduated my last homeschooled child. I’ve never studied Ecclesiastes; I think now is the perfect time! Thank you for all your hard work!

    1. Hi Jacqueline,

Yes – we will have the kids word searches and copywork available closer to the start of the study.

      Thanks for asking!
      Courtney 🙂

  12. Oh I am soo excited!! I am ordering the book now!!! I can’t wait. I will be off in the summer so ready to get into this study! Thank you and thank your mom for your hard work!!

  13. How exciting! I just ordered the study book and am looking forward to our summer study! Thanks very much to you and your mom’s investment of time on developing this study 🙂

  14. I previewed and ordered. I can’t wait, it’s exciting. What are the chances you might do another one like this on Galatians; specifically the fruit of the spirit?…just a thought. Please keep doing what you’re doing it’s awesome.

  15. I just ordered the book from Amazon today. Have been hesitant in buying the print book to accompany the online studies. This one looks too good to pass up though. I think Ecclesiastes is going to be a remarkable book to dig into.

  16. Will your Mom be chiming in during this study? She’s a lovely woman. I met her quickly at your WLW conference in ’13. She’s a gem! You are so blessed to have had this kind of upbringing. 🙂 I look forward to hearing from her 😀

    1. Hi Kelly –

Thank you so much for your kind words about my mom – I agree – she is a gem!

And yes – I plan to have her in at least one of the teaching videos. So you will get to see her here – yay!

So glad you are joining us again!
      Courtney

  17. I got my book today in the mail for the Bible study of Ecclesiastes!! So excited to begin this study with y’all! Thanks for all you do!

  18. This study comes at a great time for me! The last week in May my life will slow down to a crawl so I will truly be able to enjoy this study without all the busyness life brings. Ordered the book and ready to go!!

  19. Just got my new study book and am so, so impressed! It is such an in-depth look at Eccles and I know I am going to be so blessed reading and working my way thru Ecclesiastes+ Thank you both for this beautiful study booklet, Courtney and it is easy to see how you have been trained into he word of God by a most precious woman of God, your mom.

  20. Hi there, I have never participated in one of your studies before and I am curious about this Ecclesiastes study. I teach a ladies class at our church on Wednesday evenings and I wondered if this can be used as a group study? Would the ladies need to participate in the online video/blog posts on their own and then when we get together on Wednesday’s discuss what we’ve learned so far…or can we just follow through the workbook without each one needing to go online for the video’s/blog? The study looks very good and one I think our ladies group would enjoy but I don’t think each of our ladies can go online every time and follow through that way. Sorry for all the questions. 😉 Thanks for all you do. 🙂

    Sincerely,
    Tamara

    1. Tamara,

Yes -this is PERFECT for a ladies group at your church. My mom took a group of 20 through it without our on-line study. Your ladies do not have to participate on-line and if any of them want to watch the Friday videos – they could do it on their own here or you could watch them together as a group.

      Hope you all enjoy it!
      Courtney 🙂

  21. Hey Courtney, I just got my copy of ‘Ecclesiastes: Wisdom for Living Well’ and I’m really looking forward to starting the study. The last book of the bible I did with GMG was Job, life got in the way and I couldn’t complete Mark, so I’m looking forward to getting back into the Word.
    Best wishes 🙂

  22. This is great. If we start with this June class and go forward, will you guys start over again with the books you have already covered?

    1. Hi Diana,

Now is a great time to start – all are welcome anytime! We are not at the midway point quite yet – so on breaks you could go back and read the past studies or just wait until we repeat!

Hope you will join us for the summer study. It’s going to be great!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  25. Thank you for your encouragement and for being helping others stay in the Word. I am tentatively joining the world of social media, a was little leery of what I might find. I am so glad to discover similar minded folks sharing their God-centered lives and stories with the world. I too am trying to walk in reluctant obedience by opening up my life to the world. I’m freaked out! Please stop by and say hello.

  27. I’m looking forward to this study. I’m wondering if the videos will be captioned for the Hearing Impaired?

    1. Hi Lisa,

I’m sorry that I will not have the video captioned. Maybe I could work on making a transcript available…

      Thank you for asking,
      Courtney

  28. oh my !! I just decided today to do one of books of the bible study and my bible fell open to Ecclesiastes and so, I came to your web site to see if you had already done this one and maybe I could find some kind of plan for it and here you are just ready to start it !! So excited to do it with you all. thanks so much !!

    1. Welcome Laura!

The Good Morning Girls Groups will open for one week starting Monday, June 6th- so watch for that announcement or come back then. So glad you are joining us!

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  29. I was looking at the gel hi-lighters that you recommend and noticed it only has 6 colors and the bible color guide uses 8 colors. what do you use for the other 2 colors. Sorry to ask such a silly question, but my OCD wont let me sleep until I ask.

    Thanks,

    1. Hi Stacy,

Good question! Right under the gel-hi-lighters, I also recommend the Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils. I use a combination to get all 8 colors. I prefer the hi-gliders and then just use the colored pencils to get my red and gray in. 😉

      Hope that helps!
      Courtney

  30. Someone please explain to me how this works… I’ve been following GMG for a couple years now but have never “joined a group.” How does it work? Courtney mentions inviting a few friends to come along w/ you…Can you invite people to your “group,” or are we grouped at the discretion of the GMG team?

    1. Hi Kristen,

“Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times.

I want to encourage you to invite some of your friends to join you. Pray about who from your church, Bible study group, family, neighborhood or workplace would be a good fit. Groups that are smaller generally work better – 5-12 is a good number especially for email and text messaging groups. Facebook groups can go quite a bit larger and still work.

If you don’t have anyone in your life to ask or who is interested or you would rather join a group that exists on-line – then check back this Monday, June 6th. We will have links to open groups that you can join – but they fill fast. So don’t miss it.

If you choose to lead friends from real life – we will have a leadership guide for you and we have a facebook group you can join – the details for that will be posted here on Monday, June 6th as well. 🙂

      So glad your joining us!!!
      Courtney

      1. Great! Thanks so much, Courtney! And I just looked up the Ecclesiastes bible study guide on Amazon and am SUPER excited about it! 🙂

  31. I will be getting my book tomorrow and really looking forward to this bible study. This will be a new experience for me doing a study via social media but so glad there is a community of women I can connect with, even if it’s online!

Thank you for all you do!

  32. Ordered the book last week! I started following your site about a month ago and have the Proverbs and Deuteronomy ones as well… I am new to all this and it has really woke me up and has guided me with my new path of studies… Looking forward to June 13th!!! I am @sljdesignjourney on IG ????

  33. Hi. Will you be doing any journals for the previous Books you have all studied before you began putting the journals together. I really like the journals.

    Thanks

  34. I am going to be doing this Bible study with women from my church. I see it is a collaboration with your mother. I am curious who the pastoral oversight is on the study? Thank you for your time.

    1. Hi Jackie,

We are both members at Maranatha Bible Church in Akron, Ohio where my mom led this study to 20 women in her small group. She has led women’s Bible studies for over 20 years at our church and is under the pastor oversight there. My sister’s husband is a pastor at this church and my father is both a deacon and an adult Sunday School teacher and I am a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute.

      Hope that helps, 🙂
      Courtney

  35. Bummed, really wanted to do the study. Ordered the book with a Bible Amazon and just found out my husband cancelled the order. Hopefully can jump in sometime down the road.

  36. Hello, I am interested in doing this study with my 13 and 16 year old girls. Is this something they can join in with me? Are there additional materials available for their ages?
Thank you so much for creating this. This is my first GMG and I am looking forward to starting this.

  37. Hi Courtney, this study looks amazing and am thinking of gathering a few women together to do this in my home but won’t be able to start until next month. Is there a place I can access the videos at that time?

  38. Thank you Courtney and Beverly to include the captioned on the video. It means a lot to the deaf community. Thanks for thinking of us. Keep up with the good work!

  39. How can I buy a regular workbook? I got mine and my daughters want to join me but I can’t find them on amazon anymore. Are they out of stock?
    Thanks for any help.
    Kelly

    1. Hi Kelly,

I have been on the phone with Amazon twice today- it will not be available for about 24 hours 🙁 I’m so sorry – please check back tomorrow at this time and it should be available again.

      My apologies.
      Courtney

      1. Oh good! This answered my question as well. I just started Ecclesiastes yesterday and thought, I need some guidance in this. You popped up on my search!! I’ve read your blog for years and follow as I can so I was thrilled when I saw you were doing this! Can’t wait to study along with you all.

  40. I scrolled through to see if there is an answer to my question, but didn’t find it already posted … I am a missionary living outside the US and would like to participate in the study. If I purchase the kindle version, is there also a way to print it (I prefer a hard copy, but have no way to get one where I live)? Thanks.

    1. Hi Brandi,

I don’t know if a Kindle book can be printed – but if you email me at courtney(at)womenlivingwell.org I’ll send you a pdf copy free that you can print.

Just remind me who you are and that I had told you I’d send you a copy. 😉

      Hope that helps!
      Courtney 🙂
