Accountability works in reaching our goals – whether it’s losing weight, becoming more organized, or getting into God’s word daily – the encouragement of others keeps us going on days when we’d rather quit!

I encourage you to invite your friends and start your own Good Morning Girls group.  You can keep each other accountable using email, text messaging or creating a Facebook group.

Not sure who to ask and you want to be in a group?

Check back here on the blog on Monday, August 29th.  There will be links to open groups here –  ready to welcome you in!

Are you a GMG Leader?  On Monday, August 29th, there will be a link for you to join our Facebook Group for GMG Leaders – we will have a manual available for you there as well as daily encouragement and a place for you to connect with other leaders.

Invite your sons and daughters!  We have a brand new site for guys ages 10 and up at GoodMorningGuys.org.  Just like us – our children NEED to be in God’s Word daily.  Children over the age of ten are capable of reading a chapter a day and SOAKing what they have read. I encourage you to introduce this method of style to your children.  Teach them how to drink from the living well of God’s word and soak in all the spiritual nourishment they can!

  2. I have a group of ladies who want to go through the good morning girl studies and have looked at doing an earlier study like James or Proverbs. Can I, as a blogger, usr past resources to do older Bible studies?

    1. Welcome Gail,

We do not have sign-ups or enrollments – so print any of the free materials that you would find useful – order the journal if you think that would be helpful (it’s optional), perhaps follow us on Facebook, Instagram or through subscribing via email on the sidebar – whatever works for you. I’m so glad you are here!
      Courtney 🙂

  3. I just found you probably a month or two ago. I’ve had some delays so I’m behind on the Ecclesiastes Bible study. I LOVE it. It was exactly what I needed. I have never been in the word like I am now. What I read today included something about Christians having fun and enjoying our God given lives. I so agree but I struggle in this area. Do you know of additional resources that I can use to strengthen this quality that I want very badly? I am so on board with what you share with us gals but I do have a question. Everything you share about being a wife is beautiful and I am 100% in agreement. But please help me to make the head heart connection as to why should single woman who are not looking for a mate put effort into how they look? Don’t get me wrong, I WANT to care about how I look. I just can’t seem to find a purpose behind it so I put no effort into it. Any advice or resources?

    1. Hi, Kim =) One thing to consider is that you don’t want your appearance to interfere with your Gospel-interactions with others. And that goes both ways: over-grooming AND sloppy grooming. While God is the only one with the power to save, He uses His people to deliver the Gospel message, and we don’t want something such as messy hair or bad breath to distract from those precious Gospel words.

We also want to remember that we ought to live above-reproach lives in which people can’t find bad things to say about us. If we aren’t putting appropriate effort into our appearance, we have to know that some people may consider us to be lazy, careless, etc. A common criticism I’ve heard about Christians is that we’re supposedly lazy and can’t get out acts together. While we don’t want to veer into fear of man and into idolizing our reputations, we do want to take care to guard the reputation of Christ in our lives. As a Christian, EVERYTHING we do and say says something about the God we profess to follow. And so there is no area of our lives–including our appearance–that we should not put forth serious effort to bring into submission to Christ.

    2. Hi Kim,
In response to your question about beauty. I always believe that going to the Bible first for advice is the best way to go. Here are a couple of verses to encourage you…. James 1:23, Proverbs 31:10, 1 Samuel 16:7 Galatians 3:26, 27 Proverbs 3:1-35 talks about wisdom and how that makes a Christian a very beautiful person. Ezekiel 28:17, 18 interesting verses to cross reference and put into perspective. Matthew 23: whole chapter talks about the importance of our heart being beautiful, not being fake and keeping the outside looking good.

1 Peter 3:3-4New King James Version (NKJV)

3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
      Psalm 139:14 Matthew 6:28,29 1Timothy 2:9,10

    3. Hello Kim!
I read your post with interest 🙂 Are you happy with your appearance? That should be good enough for everyone else. Are you happy with who you are as a person? When you are yourself, others will see you as a woman of God.
I tend to get compliments when I wear makeup, which is rarely (I live in Florida, and it’s just too hot, or I’m swimming, or whatever), and it doesn’t motivate me to wear it regularly. The thing I try to wear every day is a smile. I am very comfortable in my own skin. I know many lovely women who don’t wear makeup or fancy clothes, who shop at discount and thrift stores, who look wonderful because they’re are comfortable with themselves and don’t feel like they’re dressing for someone else. Many of these women feel confident in their relationship with Jesus and this is what others see in them 🙂
*I will quickly add that those who enjoy “making the effort” have their own reasons for doing so, and if that helps them feel better about themselves, that’s ok too!

  4. Hello! I enjoy the GMG studies from home. I don’t usually purchase the books, but rather follow along online with the discussion questions and verses of the day. Will these be available for the Book of Joshua?

    1. Hi Sarah,

Yes, every Monday I’ll be posting the Discussion Questions and Verses of the Day for the entire week here on the blog. So glad you are joining us!

      Love,
      Courtney

  5. Courtney,
I am so excited about starting this adventure as a new leader of a small women’s ministry group on September 5th. I am hoping to have about 20-30 women involved from our church and some close friends also. One of my dear friends and I have been walking through James also. I also have been encouraging some younger men (18-25) to join in on the good morning guys as well. Would a Facebook page be the most appropriate (and how do I do that)? Or set up a website? What kind of commitment (and time) can I expect to devote to it? I am very excited. I have already received our pastor’s blessings and I look forward to digging in even deeper into God’s living word! Also, thank you and the other wonderful ladies for your help and your dedication to serving God’s kingdom!

    1. Welcome Laura! This is so exciting to hear!

I would recommend starting a Facebook Group where you all could talk daily about your quiet time reflections. It could take about 20-30 minutes a day to interact with your ladies if they all are open and sharing.

We have a facebook group special for leaders where we give you everything you need to run a facebook group including a manual – go to this page here and enter the password: leader https://womenlivingwell.org/gmg-leaders/

Thank you for being a leader!
      Courtney 🙂

  6. So I don’t mean this to be rude but um… Can we get some SOAK journals that don’t have some random woman holding a cup of coffee on the cover? Maybe a nice tree? A river? An old-timey little white wooden church? A field of flowers?

  7. I homeschool my kids and my daughter asked to study some of the books in the new testament. She asked to use the women living well journals so we purchased 2 of the book of Mark and the book of Acts! We are excited to start them! If at all possible, please keep the journals you have done previously available online! I usually don’t follow along with the website but I love using these beautiful journals to go along with my Bible reading. Thank you for this resource! With love, Jen in NY
