Fit Friday: How To Make A Fitness Notebook

I have a tendency to read fitness magazines or websites and pull/print out articles I want to save. But then I found that I had no place to keep them and I never ended up referring to them. So I decided to organize them by creating a “fitness notebook”.
I’ve never seen anyone else’s notebook and just sort of “made up” what I thought should be in it – so you could create yours special to your needs. I started with just a three ring binder and a package of page protectors. Then I took all those articles and sorted them by topic such as:

Workout Plans Using Weights
Information on Healthy Food
Healthy Recipes
Charts for checking off my progress
And extra notebook paper to log my runs on the treadmill (or you could log your food and calorie intake on this notebook paper).
This notebook gives me a place to keep all this information organized and I can take it with me anywhere – like the kitchen to cook, the grocery store to shop, the basement where I exercise or outside. It’s quite handy. And it’s amazing how a little organized notebook can be so effective and make fitness interesting and fun. It’s my FREE personal trainer!
Remember I Corinthians 6:19,20 says”Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
Remember to take care of your body and love God with all of your strength!

  1. I love your fittness notebook. What a great idea. I made one when along time ago when I really wanted to get into shape. I cut out all these great inspiring words from magazines and some great pictures of how I wanted to look and dress~it really did work! I have been thinking about doing that again but that little voice in my head always seems to discourage me and I don't do it. But now that I have seen your notebook I am going to start on it tonight~maybe I will even post a photo of it on my blog. Thank you for sharing with us such and inspiring post. God bless, Rose

  2. Thanks for all of your encouragement and Wow Rose! You go girl! That's exciting to hear! I'd love to see it when you have it done!

  3. Awesome fitness notebook!! I have a similar one but it’s not as practical. I’m doing too much pasting and glueing. Your idea seems like it would be a much better option!

  4. Love this idea! This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it! I love to pull out work out routines from magazines, but never use them and in the end either toss them or misplace them. I just pulled out two such articles recently and didn’t know what to do with them. Until now! Thanks so much, Courtney!

  5. This is like a LIGHT BULB for me!! I have my ‘Command Center’ binder, my ‘Recipes’ binder, and decided this morning I need to create two others for volunteer positions I hold. Now it’s a fitness binder! My first boss once said ‘create a file folder with a topic on it and you’ll be amazed at how you will come across information on that topic. This fits! Also – I just shared with hubby how hard it is to find kids snacks/drinks without High Fructose Corn Syrup…then I said ‘but I don’t know why it’s bad, exactly’ – lol!! Next article I see – VOILA – into the Fitness binder it goes! I think I will call mine ‘Family Health Tracking’ or something like that.

  6. Oh – one more thing! Walmart has those sturdy, 8-tabbed pocket dividers (called Avery two pocket insertable plastic dividers…8 tabs) in their back to school section today for 3.50. Seemed like a good price.

  7. This really is just like a LAMP personally!! I’ve my personal ‘Command Center’ binder, my personal ‘Recipes’ binder, as well as made the decision today I have to produce 2 other people with regard to you are not selected jobs We maintain. Right now it’s an exercise binder! My personal very first employer as soon as stated ‘create the document folder having a subject onto it as well as you’ll end up being astonished from exactly how you will find home elevators which subject. This particular suits! Additionally – I simply distributed to husband exactly how difficult it’s to locate children snacks/drinks without having Higher Fructose Hammer toe Syrup…then We stated ‘but We don’t understand the reason why it’s poor, exactly’ – lol!! Following post We observe – VOILA – to the Health and fitness binder this will go! I believe I’ll phone my own ‘Family Wellness Tracking’ or even something similar to which.
