My Month at a Glance

Thank you SO much for all of your feedback Monday – it was SO helpful.  Many of you said you were interested in my family photos – so here is my month at a glance from pictures I’ve posted on Instagram.

December has been a fun month so far. We’ve had loads of snow here in Ohio!

This was taken out my back window one morning.  Coffee + God’s word + this view = bliss!

The kids and daddy have been sled riding.  Mommy stayed inside and made the hot cocoa 😉 .

This is what happens when you stay inside…and you homeschool…you end up doing things like this to pass time. Lol!.  Lexi wanted to learn how to make balloon animals,so guess who learned how to make balloon animals – mommy!  Now please take note that the long neck is a giraffe lest you think they are all dogs. lol! (and that’s a bumble bee at the bottom in pink)

We had a MAJOR delay getting our Christmas tree decorated!  We got the live tree in the house and then daddy went on a business trip to Dallas, Texas and ended up stranded in an ice storm there. He waited two days to get a flight out and they kept getting cancelled. So on day 3 he drove to Houston and finally got a flight home. This entire weekend, the kids were on the edge of their seats waiting for daddy to walk through the door so we could decorate the tree…we ended up doing it without him. 🙁  But he was grateful because he was exhausted and it was a pleasant surprise for him.

I love this mistletoe hanging in the entrance to our kitchen…the kids started this hug and kiss on their own and I asked them to hold it while I got a picture. Lol!  I might take a picture every year with them in this place and watch them grow…if I can remember. ha!

We attended Lexi’s piano recital – where she played Silent Night. (this happened to be the same weekend Daddy was stranded in Dallas – boooooo 🙁 So sad he missed this.)

And this was taken at her gymnastics show this past Sunday. She only does tumbling – no bars or beam…she and 3 other girls did a floor routine together.

And I went to an Ornament Exchange Christmas party at my friend Katina’s house – you probably recognize the one on the far left – Miss Comfy In the Kitchen!!!

I finished all my Christmas shopping this week (see you in 2014 Target!).  And we made some cookies –(these ones are so simple the kids can do them themselves!  Just put hershey kisses on pretzels. Put them in the oven for 4 minutes at 200 degrees. Then take them out and put a mint m&m in each one. That’s it – simple and yummy!)

I’ll be making more cookies this weekend. I waited until last minute to bake to try to minimize the nibbling on cookies and weight gain I have every.single.year.

I’ll begin wrapping presents this weekend, along with our yearly tradition of driving around and looking for nativities amongst Christmas lights!

I mailed out 60 Christmas cards this year – cutting back from 160!  And I don’t think I’ll be blogging next week until after Christmas, so here is my Christmas card that I wish I could send to all of you —

Christmas Card Official

From my family to yours, may you have a very Merry Christmas.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
~Luke 2:14

  1. That is an incredible view from your window. After 20 years of city living I am getting worn out and am longing to see a view like that everyday. We are praying for God’s guidance, it’s so hard to know what to do. People need Jesus everywhere and I would like Him to send me somewhere prettier to share Jesus :-))

  2. Merry Christmas To you and your family Courtney! You probably already know it but you have been a blessing to women and a blessing to me. Have a great, safe and wonderful holiday.

  3. Love the pics! Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas from my family to yours! I know you will enjoy this time…look on forward to everything 2014 will bring!!

The color on the walls with the Christmas tree is beautiful too! I know that may seem random but I think it is very pretty especially with the green in the next room! Good job picking the colors!

  9. Great pics! It’s gonna be 60 here over the weekend so all that snow we got last weekend is gonna be gone! which is fine by me! Lol! Hope your debit/credit card wasn’t one of the 40 million hacked at Target so be watchful of your accounts! I used mine there on Black Friday and only have a checking acct but thankfully I got my new debit card with a new 3 digit code last week so I should be ok and have used cash since.

Hope your family has a Merry Christmas!! See you next year!
